From Bnguyen to "Blnguyen"

I am a Vietnamese-American living in the United States and I have immigrated to the United States and able to achieve the American dream here as my fellow Vietnamese were able who live in the United States because if we were in Vietnam we would not have the opporunitiy to have the life we have in the United States.

My name is Brandon Nguyen and I have been a member here on wikipedia for over two years and have been an good contributer to wikipedia.

1. How and why do are you using a similar name as me? My last name is Nguyen, and my first name is Brandon but you add a letter "L" between it.

2. Why are you making accussations that Vietnamese-Americans that are contributing to American society is spam?

These Vietnamese-Americans are trying to contribute to American society and enjoy the opporunities that are in this country of the United States eventhough there is racism here at times, but we overcome it. As you know from what happened at Virginia Tech some people are not strong enough to deal with it and overcome it that they become mentally ill.

I am editing from my real name, and as such, that is how my name is derived. I was referring to the articles as spam, because they are written a way which violates WP:NPOV and had phrases which were not encyclopedic like Tri is a dedicated husband and father. He met his wife, Anh Doan by what he calls "an act of destiny," and together they have journeyed through many challenging paths. In 2002, they were blessed with a beautiful daughter, Trianh, who remains their most precious gift of life, and other unsourced stuff about his personal character, which reads like an election pamphlet. I'd have to say that WP:BIO says that local city council people are not notable, and it is pretty clear on this, let alone a person in a council of 88k. I'm not sure you can justify Cho's actions by saying that it was because he was teased,.. many people get teased for a variety of reasons, not just racial and also he went to a Korean church. In addition, I'd have to say that I don't think that cutting these articles count as racism or racially motivated, since they clearly do not meet WP:BIO. I would wonder why people would rather write about these non notable things, when so many of the articles on Vietnamese history do not even exist. Lastly I would have to remind you to not add "Vietnamese Americans" to those articles, since the articles are already in the subcategory "Vietnamese American politicians" and are thus in the parent cat. Also, I removed your cats from Nguyen Khanh, as I cannot see how the Government of Free Vietnam counts for anything, nor can he be counted as "non-violence", since he is a general, and for one thing, ordered the execution of Nguyen Van Nhung. I was wondering what is the reason for reverting my edits? It took me time to find references etc. The reversion policy clearly says to avoid reversion and instead try to make the article better. It's easy to revert. It's not easy to make a contribution. Sorry for my ranting. A very Californian RfA thanks from Luna Santin

Thanks for your support in my not-so-recent RfA, which succeeded with a final tally of (97/4/4)! I've never been able to accept compliments gracefully, and the heavy support from this outstanding community left me at a complete loss for words -- so, a very belated thank you for all of your kind words. I have done and will continue to do the utmost to serve the community in this new capacity, wherever it may take me, and to set an example others might wish to follow in. With a little luck and a lot of advice, this may be enough. Maybe someday the enwiki admins of the future will look back and say, "Yeah, that guy was an admin." Hopefully then they don't start talking about the explosive ArbComm case I got tied into and oh what a drama that was, but we'll see, won't we? Any ideas about what to do with this article/editor?

Hi Blnguyen. I am at my wits end so thought I'd call on your awesome powers to help me figure out what to do with CharliTa. S/he is disruptively editing Melissa Smith, Chelsea Korka (particularly) and the main Pussycat Dolls page. I feel I am spending way too much time sorting out these articles considering my lack on interest in the subject :P

Anyway the main problem now is that the editor is adding derogatory material on the Chelsea Korka article and reverting every reversion I make. I have tried to explain the policies and point out the policy pages on the talk page, but the reply was simply "what? in english please!". If you look at his methods of formatting on the talk page you'll see why I have a massive headache from this guy.

He is also adding the sprotect template to the article, although the article itself is not protected. I'm not sure whether the BLP exception to 3RR would cover me reverting him so would like your advice. What a surprise (not). I had Joseph.James00 reported for 3RR violation on 21 April... within a day he had already violated the rule again so he was blocked for 24 hours. He just came out of the block last night (23:58, 22 April 2007), and swiftly re-added the WP:BLP violation to Asia Nitollano at 11:10, 23 April 2007. I reminded him that this was unacceptable at 11:14, 23 April 2007 but he again readded the material (23:02, 23 April 2007). He then messed with the formatting of my signature on his talk page & removed it from one comment, so that another editor's comments showed as "small" text (at 19:00, 23 April 2007). Actually, second thoughts. I've been studying the quality criteria and it is evident there are two scales here: a quality scale (FA and GA) and a completeness scale (A, B, start and stub). They do not necessarily interlink or overlap. A very short article can be an A but can never be an FA or even a GA simply because of limited available data. For example, William Bedle is a complete article and must be A-class because it is too complete to be a B or a start or a stub; but it could never be a GA or an FA because there is nothing to be added and it cannot be lengthened.

The criteria as written are very woolly and I've already started to improve the wording and remove ambiguity. A lot of statements in there were meaningless and contradictory: someone obviously wrote an initial draft and never edited or reviewed it.

The point is that we must have a completeness scale, although I'm not sure if four stages is enough. Quality is a different matter: an article can be complete without exhibiting any quality. Conversely, a "quality" article might be a load of rubbish: classic example is The Ashes which has been FA-class but frankly is both misleading and hopelessly incomplete in terms of content.

Anyway, I'll continue with the quality scale criteria (haven't done B or start yet) and let you know when I've finished so you can comment. We need to get a consensus on this and I think once I've done and got your feedback we should put it on the project talk page so that it can be ironed out into a final version. I don't think I did so maliciously. I simply noted that people are first and foremost dabbed by what their occupation is (in the sense of making them notable), and not birth factors like race and caste, and in this case he was notable for being taken to court. I admit, I am new to reviewing I have contributed to 2 FACs and this is my first FAR. I am trying to focus on internet era sports articles. I have recently been involved in editing Chris Young (baseball pitcher) and Barry Bonds (only the current season within the article). I have decided that I prefer to cite all important games with box scores and recaps. Going forward I will be using ESPN.com exclusively for this. I believe most of Bonds' article could be improved with such citation. I have for the most part brought Young up to this standard. I have pushed Toronto Raptors to do so at FAC. I have to take some time to give Martin Brodeur better guidance in this regard, but have added 4 citations to the article personally. I am not familiar with internet coverage of swimming, but felt Thorpe, as an internet era superstar, should be citable using online resources. I may have gone overboard citing every uncited sentence. The problem with using one book ref for an entire paragraph is that it doesn't make it clear to the reader which sentences are unsourced and which ones are covered by a citation, especially with paragraphs as long as those in Ian Thorpe. Is there any administrative action that can be taken against this user? S/he has uploaded a large number of fair use images of people that are clearly "replaceable fair use". Many come from Myspace. I've warned the user but they continue to upload these photos, and removing the "replaceable fair use" templates I've put on the image pages. Usually I'd just deal with this on an image-by-image basis but the vast number of images that need dealing with is just too much work. I'm most frustrated by the fact that the person continues doing this when they've repeatedly been warned not to. Edit Warning

Hi, I am reporting an editor who is engaged in edit-warring. HappyInGeneralhas done about 34 reverts on ([5]) page alone in the last two weeks. He and I were warned on May 1st. [6] I have refrained from editing that page, but HappyInGeneral has continued edit warning.

In ignoring the warning and 3RR rule, HappyInGeneral has declared himself an edit warrior. If he is not punished for this behavior now, no one will care about Wiki rules any more.

The edit warning on that page is mostly about a provocative and contested image added by HappyInGeneral. Many editors have rejected placing this picture in the intro. In trying to reach a compromise with him I created a section call “Abuses against Falun Gong practitioners” and placed this picture there. But HappyInGeneral deleted this section and moved the picture back to the intro thus starting a round of revert war.[7]

The Suppression_of_Falun_Gong page:

I think that this contribution is essential: [8] because it's well sourced and very relevant to the page. Please review and let me know what you think.

Also the tags are necessary because the current version of Suppression_of_Falun_Gong [9] is hijacked by the POV of Special:Contributions/Samuel_Luo a Falun Gong critic who is proposed for being banned [10], also you may observe that the contributions of Special:Contributions/Pirate101 and Special:Contributions/Yueyuen are only imitating Samuel Luo's behavior.

A few questions:

1. Is the information well sourced?
2. Is the information relevant?
3. Do we have consensus on that page?

My opinion regarding these questions, and please let me know if I'm wrong.

3. If the article is not on consensus than there should be tags presenting that.

As far as I see it, I'm acting according to the wikipedia rules and spirit, where Samuel is not, he is even removing tags that show that the article is disputed.
