September 2018 edit

Hello, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. This is just a note to let you know that I've moved the draft that you were working on to Draft:X-on, from its old location at User:X-onPH/sandbox. This has been done because the Draft namespace is the preferred location for Articles for Creation submissions. Please feel free to continue to work on it there. If you have any questions about this, you are welcome to ask me on my talk page. Thank you. — Frayæ (Talk/Spjall) 10:25, 28 September 2018 (UTC)Reply

Welcome to Wikipedia. I noticed that your username, "X-onPH", may not meet Wikipedia's username policy because it gives the impression that your account represents a group, organization or website. If you believe that your username does not violate our policy, please leave a note here explaining why. As an alternative, you may ask for a change of username by completing this form, or you may simply create a new account for editing. Thank you. — Frayæ (Talk/Spjall) 10:25, 28 September 2018 (UTC)Reply

File:Logo-X-on.png edit

Hi, I'm RonBot, a script that checks new non-free file uploads. I have found that the subject image that you recently uploaded was more than 5% in excess of the Non-free content guideline size of 100,000 pixels. I have tagged the image for a standard reduction, which (for jpg/gif/png/svg files) normally happens within a day. Please check the reduced image, and make sure that the image is not excessively corrupted. Other files will be added to Category:Wikipedia non-free file size reduction requests for manual processing. There is a full seven-day period before the original oversized image will be hidden; during that time you might want to consider editing the original image yourself (perhaps an initial crop to allow a smaller reduction or none at all). A formula for calculation the desired size can be found at WP:Image resolution, along with instructions on how to tag the image in the rare cases that it requires an oversized image (typically about 0.2% of non-free uploads are tagged as necessarily oversized). Please contact the bot owner if you have any questions, or you can ask them at Wikipedia talk:Non-free content. RonBot (talk) 17:06, 19 October 2018 (UTC)Reply

Orphaned non-free image File:Logo-X-on.png edit

Thanks for uploading File:Logo-X-on.png. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in section F5 of the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. --B-bot (talk) 17:51, 20 October 2018 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of Draft:X-on edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Draft:X-on, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. November 2018 edit

There have been two problems with this account: the account has been used for advertising or promotion, which is contrary to the purpose of Wikipedia, and your username indicates that the account represents a business or other organisation or group or a web site, which is also against policy, as an account must be for just one person. Because of those problems, the account has been blocked indefinitely from editing.

If you intend to make useful contributions about some topic other than your business or organisation, you may request an unblock. To do so, post the text {{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with a new username you are willing to use. See Special:CentralAuth to search for available usernames. Your new username will need to meet our username policy. Replace the text "Your reason here" with your reason to be unblocked. In that reason, you must:

  • Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the kind of edits for which you were blocked.
  • Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked.
If you believe this block was made in error, you may appeal this block by adding the text {{unblock|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page, but you should read the guide to appealing blocks first. Orange Mike | Talk 20:49, 18 November 2018 (UTC)Reply

This user's unblock request has been reviewed by an administrator, who declined the request. Other administrators may also review this block, but should not override the decision without good reason (see the blocking policy).

Request reason:

Hi, I chose my Username to show my connection to the company concerned, X-on. I tried to be neutral and not make the article advertorial, stating the activities undertaken by X-on without superlatives, or making claims that weren't backed with independent articles in respected Healthcare journals. I accepted the rejection of the draft review and intended to seek the advice of experienced editors to improve the article, particularly with regard to neutrality, but haven't been allowed the opportunity with the speedy deletion and now the block on editing. X-on has a nearly 19 year history, supplies the telephony to hundreds of UK GP Surgeries via the NHS, and was one of the pioneers of cloud telephony in the UK, so isn't a start-up, or fly-by-night company seeking free advertising. I’d appreciate the opportunity to meet Wikipedia’s guidelines with an unblock and a reversal of the deletion of the draft article, allowing time to seek advice and improve the article. Thank you.

Decline reason:

You will need to choose a new username per the instructions in your block notice; your username needs to indicate you are an individual user(it need not be your real name). If you want to indicate your association with the company, a name in the format of "YourName of Xon" would be acceptable. You will need to review WP:COI and WP:PAID. The draft you created is unlikely to be restored as it is promotional in nature, and if you don't see how it is, you are too close to the company to be able to edit about it with a neutral point of view. As such, you will not be permitted to edit about it. If you want to edit about a subject outside of your conflict of interest, please state what that might be, along with agreeing to formally comply with WP:COI and WP:PAID. I am declining your request. 331dot (talk) 09:20, 19 November 2018 (UTC)Reply

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Please understand that Wikipedia is not a place to merely tell about a company. Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, that hosts articles about subjects shown with independent reliable sources with indepth coverage to meet the relevant notability guidelines, in this case those for companies. Wikipedia has no interest in what an article subject wants to say about itself. The sources offered in your draft are not appropriate as they seem to be press releases or basic business announcements that do not establish notability(see the business notability guidelines for more info, as well as WP:PRIMARY). If all you want to do here is tell about your company, you will not be unblocked, and should consider an alternative forum. If you want to edit about something else, please proceed as I state above. Thank you. 331dot (talk) 09:20, 19 November 2018 (UTC)Reply

Thank you for the explanation.

User Deletion edit

Hi,

Can an editor please advise how I delete my User Account? It clearly identifies who I am (as I intended initially) and there's little point in requesting a Username change given I'm not intending further editing.

I'd included a 'db-u1|rationale=' tag, but that's been removed.

Thanks.
