Notability of Alex Maguire edit

A tag has been placed on Alex Maguire requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article, which appears to be about a real person, organization (band, club, company, etc.), or web content, does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable. If this is the first page that you have created, then you should read the guide to writing your first article.

If you think that you can assert the notability of the subject, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the article (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. TomStar81 (Talk) 22:47, 1 February 2009 (UTC)Reply

I have altered the entry to account for the importance of Maguire's work on the alternative jazz and progressive rock scene. Hope this meets your (legitimate) criteria for notability.User:Wrongobject

Notability of Serge Vandercam edit

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Serge Vandercam, by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Serge Vandercam seems to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Serge Vandercam, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Feel free to contact the bot operator if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot, bearing in mind that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it does not perform any nominations or deletions itself. The late Serge vandercam is such a luminary of Belgian, and more broadly, European art, being one of the most famous representatives of the CoBrA movement - as attested ont he web and elsewhere - that it surprises me that I had to create a page several years after his death. His work is currently fetured alongside that of Alechinsky, Jorn et alii aspart of the CoBrA exhibition at the Musee des Beaux Arts in Brussels. Catalogues and monographs appear on a monbthly basis, etc. user:Wrongobject

  • Could you provide a reference for the claim that Michel's work was the topic of those radio shows? - Mgm|(talk) 10:08, 6 February 2009 (UTC)Reply

Delville is not only the founder of the band. With their bass player he is the only survivorof the original line-up and composes 95% of the original music of The Wrong Object (http://www.united-mutations.com/w/wrong_object.htm), with the exception of the albums featurng guests who contribute their own compositions (http://www.wrongobject.com/cds.php). The interviews (http://www.wrongobject.com/interviews.php) were given by him, not the band. User talk:Wrongobject
