Redirects

Just a note, if an article has redirects to itself as was the case with Timescoop, the proper thing to do is to remove the link in the article (like this, not to delete the redirect, which could be used as a valid search term or link to the article in question. ---- Patar knight - ^chat/_{contributions} 15:41, 9 June 2016 (UTC)

Hello WolfgangRieger ! I wanted to ask you why there is still no category similar to Category: Science fiction writers by nationality or Category: Science fiction novels by nationality in your native German Wikipedia language section?--Yasnodark (talk) 16:04, 14 August 2019 (UTC)

Hello WolfgangRieger! Thanks for the reply, but it is very inconvenient, because in the German section it is almost impossible to see immediately what articles on these topics are there, because there are no such profile categories. By the way, perhaps you would like in the survey that I already spend in different wikipedian linguistic sections of the poll to determine the best speculative fiction novels among Wikipedians. Do not you want to participate? If yes, I wanted, that you to think and gradually create (if you like the idea) a list (as long as possible, but not more than 50) of the best genre novels of different authors, regardless of the language of the works (it is desirable: 1 author - 1 novel, but not necessarily) personally read by you. The list can include all novels containing speculative fiction elements - science fiction, fantasy and fairy tales, horror & supernatural fiction, alternative-historical, etc. The place of the novel in the list should correspond to the quality of the work and your impression received from him. The first novel in the list will be scored at 50 points, the last - in 1 point. And when there are enough respondents to collect - we sum up the number of points and get a list of 100 best novels. Jesse Weldon Fell

Hi. If a redirect is valid, which this one clearly is, then you have two options. First, you can create an article about the surgeon, and then turn this into a redirect; second, you can nominate this redirect for deletion at WP:RFD. If you choose the former, then the surgeon should pass WP:GNG. Also, you put a hatnote at the redirect's target, to an article which doesn't exist, which is something that should not be done. The redirect is not valid, because the middle name of Jesse W. Fell is probably not Weldon. Or can you give prove? You need a source which does not take the information from Wikipedia. I'm writing an article on Jesse Weldon Fell in the German Wikipedia (see de:Benutzer:WolfgangRieger/Jesse_Weldon_Fell. Jesse Weldon Fells middle name derives from his grandmother Hanna Welding. See Ruth T. Farrow: Odyssey of an American Cancer Specialist of a Hundred Years Ago. In: Bulletin of the History of Medicine Bd. 23, Nr. 3 (Mai/Juni 1949), S. 238. En-WP got it wrong. But as I see it, I tried to fix it. If you insist on providing wrong information in en-WP and causing confusion: Fine. It's up to you. The misinformation has already spread to other sites (e.g. https://www.mchistory.org/research/biographies/fell-jesse-weldon or Findagrave).
