Alyson Gorske moved to draftspace edit

An article you recently created, Alyson Gorske, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Alyson Gorske article edit

Hello Wilton, I am the editor who moved the article on Alyson Gorske to the draft space. I did this because it did not contain any reliable sources. When we edit articles on living people, it is all the more important that all sources used are reliable and of good quality (more at WP:RS). If you cannot find any such sources on Alyson Gorske, it may not be possible for us to have an article on her. Don't hesitate to contact with queries. @Modussiccandi: Thank you for taking a look at the article and moving it to the draft space! I removed information that can't be referenced (particularly the biographical section), and I added some additional streaming services that are well-known to prove Alyson Gorske's involvement in the respective films. Would you mind taking another look at the draft before I submit it for review, please? — Wilton gorske (talk) 01:00, 12 September 2021 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for trying to improve the draft article. With the exception of YouTube (which is not considered a reliable source), you've used streaming services/e-vendors. While these may help us verify information about Alyson Gorske, they raise other problems which I will explain below.
All subjects covered on this Wikipedia (other languages may differ) need to be what we call 'notable'. Notability is measured by the general notability guideline (WP:GNG), according to which a subject is notable if it has received substantial coverage in two or more reliable and independent sources. You'll see immediately that the sources you provided don't contribute towards this measure because they are non-independent. (How could a streaming platform publish independent information about a film it sells?) So, in a nutshell, you'll need to find sources that comply with the standard described above. Now there are other less demanding ways to notability (see WP:NACTOR) but in principle I would recommend that you try to gear your draft towards meeting the general notability guideline. @Modussiccandi: Thank you for the helpful feedback. I have removed the YouTube link as a reference. I included it because it was from the verified account done by Google for Fandango, and they unfortunately only host their clips on YouTube—though that makes sense. I understand your point regarding streaming platforms not qualifying as reliable and independent sources, and I have removed them accordingly. For 616 Wilford Lane, I referenced two sources specifically because they mention Alyson Gorske by name, and they are used on the existing Wikipedia article for the film. While there are many sites covering these films, I have specifically chosen reliable sources that mention Alyson Gorske but do not contain affiliate links (in other words, they don't receive a commission for click-throughs via UTM tracking linking to streaming services). This should help address concerns around the independent nature of the sources.
Please note, I have also done my best to self-disclose that I have a WP:COI on the talk pages of both my user page and the draft article page. Do you believe the article may now be in a good place to submit for review (perhaps as a stub)? Thank you again for your time and assistance regarding this page and maintaining Wikipedia. Best, Wilton gorske (talk) 18:16, 12 September 2021 (UTC)Reply
I would simply try and submit the draft article. It can take some time until someone comes around to reviewing it, so it's better to start queuing as soon as possible. The reviewer will give you a second opinion and further advice. Best, Modussiccandi (talk) 18:39, 12 September 2021 (UTC)Reply
