And why was it automatically moved to drafts?

Panchiakos GS is one example of what I'm talking about. It only has one reference and it has made it through. Should I just leave the TVSA only, won't you direct it for speedy deletion? Previously you've advised me on what should be removed. But then on Sipho you've auto moved it without leaving a direct advice. Why was that? And the draft you've transformed it to has no content. Why was that? Tripple666 (talk) 04:59, 16 September 2019 (UTC)

@Tripple666: Panchiakos stayed because another editor made what I thought was an implied effort to convert sources from the Greek page of the same name to the English page. Again, I would like to stress that just because one other case exists, it doesn't mean that it is the norm. And to clarify more, I never tagged your page for speedy deletion. The draft contains the same content that the page in the mainspace had, just under a different title. My advice would be to add all of the citations that you have on Mr. Midingi and then submit the article for review. A different page reviewer (not myself) helped you with Mr. Ramodisa's page, and when you submit this article for review after you have added citations, you should get another message like that on acceptance of the page or what improvements need to be made further. AfroCine: Join the Months of African Cinema this October!

Greetings!

After a successful first iteration of the “Months of African Cinema” last year, we are happy to announce that it will be happening again this year, starting from October 1! In the 2018 edition of the contest, about 600 Wikipedia articles were created in at least 8 languages. There were also contributions to Wikidata and Wikimedia commons, which brought the total number of wikimedia pages created during the contest to over 1,000.

The AfroCine Project welcomes you to October, the first out of the two months which have been dedicated to creating and improving content that centre around the cinema of Africa, the Caribbean, and the diaspora. Join us in this global edit-a-thon, by helping to create or expand articles which are connected to this scope. Also remember to list your name under the participants section.

On English Wikipedia, we would be recognizing participants in the following manner:

  • Overall winner (1st, 2nd, 3rd places)
  • Diversity winner
  • Gender-gap fillers

Speedy deletion declined: 2017 PowerShares QQQ 300

Hello Willsome429. I am just letting you know that I declined the speedy deletion of 2017 PowerShares QQQ 300, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: event organized by a notable organization, part of a notable series, with notable competitors and television and radio broadcasting is clearly significant. Thank you. SoWhy 15:38, 8 October 2019 (UTC)

Hi. Following your request, I have added your account to the list of AfC reviewers. If you have any questions or need any assistance, don't hesitate to ask at the Help Desk. Jon McKennedy AfD

Hey, Willsome, after 7 days the AfD's are closed. Please read the directions on AfD's. 99721829Max (talk) 18:10, 18 October 2019 (UTC)

Hi Max. As it turns out, I have been contributing to AfD discussions since before you have been editing on here. A common occurence in AfD discussions is that after one weeks' time, there is either not enough support for the cause of deletion or conflicting supports for keeping and deleting. This will lead to one of the WikiProject AfD memebers to "relist" the discussion, i. e. bump it up another week for discussion to try and gain a clearer consensus, which is the baseline of all AfD outcomes and discussions. Looking through today's AfD log, there are examples of pages that have been relisted. This isn't the first time that I've had to talk to you about behavior in AfD discussions - if you would like to participate more, please further examine procedures on these types of discussions so that we do not run into any more of these situations. hey

Hey man, need a help on rejected wiki sub, [4672], to be fair the reason is pretty vague regardless the fact I've based it on other bands, please advice, thanks

@Spectrosphere: Thank you for reaching out to ask. One of the most confusing things for me as the reviewer was the constant brackets ([]) around all band members names. Wikipedia policy requires that people are referred to by last name, not first name or nickname, per WP:SURNAME. Another question for me was whether the band name has brackets in it or not, as the page title does not but almost everything on the page does. There were also a lot of unsubstantiated, fluffly claims, like "Short under 30 minutes long album finally has been recognised in Europe gaining first reviews in Czech and Poland." The sentence violates WP:PUFFERY and was not supported by a reliable source. As a final point, though not one related to the essay-ness of the page, all external links outside the external links section will need to be removed to comply with Wikipedia policy. I hope that helps, don't hesitate to ask again if you have more questions. Regards, Willsome429 (say hey or see my edits!) 19:18, 18 October 2019 (UTC)

hey, thanks for clarifying! that's awesome you're helping me out! indeed the name of the project is in the the brackets [], but if this is an issue I can amend? as well as the following: 1. full names instead of nicknames 2. then "fluffly claims" 3. external links to be deleted

P.S. I've amended things you've mentioned however I've not submitted the article yet, I'd like to ask you kindly for final check before sending it through, also I'm not sure what to do with brackets in the bands name, should I remove it altogether or leave it as it is, or change the page title as well?

thanks for your help! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Spectrosphere (talkcontribs) 17:48, 19 October 2019 (UTC)

thanks all the best! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Spectrosphere (talkcontribs) 17:27, 19 October 2019 (UTC)

@Spectrosphere: There are still external links sticking in the page, namely in the biography section. There is also a serious WP:V problem in that the biography section does not cite any sources, so those are the two main issues that I would fix before submitting it. There are also Manual of style issues that could be fixed, such as bolding the title at the beginning of the page and eliminating the pipe (|) from the genres, instead separating them by commas. Willsome429 (say hey or see my edits!) 18:03, 22 October 2019 (UTC)
@Willsome429: Hey, thanks again for your help and time spend on my submission, once again I really appreciate your help! Much obliged! I've managed to remove all external links in Bio section like you've asked, also I've fixed the "pipes" and and MOS, however please do check citing in Bio for me, unfortunately there's not a lot of existing WP pages I could refer to, hopefully it is enough though?!, maybe to permanently fix this, in the future I should create more WP pages expanding on bands albums and band members? what do you think? I hope at this time this is enough at least for the start?! all the best!
@Spectrosphere: A lot of the MOS fixes are good. The "Influences" and "Discography" sections are still fully unsourced, so I would add sources to those sections before resubmitting. Willsome429 (say hey or see my edits!) 14:58, 28 October 2019 (UTC)
@Willsome429: Hey Will, If you don't mind, please have a final look at the amendments, I've removed influences section all together, I thought it had no value add to the article, and I think whole page reads better now, any suggestions please give me shout, thanks!

Draft: Pollfish

Hi,

Can you please explain what part of https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:Pollfish was too editorialized? As far as I can tell, every statement was cited correctly and stated factually, without bias. So if you could be specific as to the sections and issues you saw, that would help a lot. Thanks! — Preceding unsigned comment added by 208.252.27.202 (talk) 13:49, 28 October 2019 (UTC)

The issue is not that it was editorialized. The issue was that it read like a press release for the company. Notability by association is one of the biggest issues, it reads as though one is trying to flaunt the company through working with others. The "For Survey Creators" and "For App Publishers" also seemed like something that would appear on the company's website. I would suggest combining them into a blanket section, and also source the main portions of those two sections. The section about "welcoming board members" and boasting their former credentials reads like an ad. The RDE section also boasts about technology and is almost completely unsourced. Add sources to those sections, tone down the vibe that it reads from the company's website (in fact, DIY survey platform is), and I would recommend resubmitting. Willsome429 (say hey or see my edits!) 14:57, 28 October 2019 (UTC)

Thanks for your guidance here. I made the edits suggested above. Would you let me know if there is anything further I should add before re-submitting? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 208.252.27.202 (talk) 18:31, 28 October 2019 (UTC)

I see that it was declined again on the basis of not enough corporate depth. As a helpful formatting tool, see WP:Named reference to see how you can use the same reference more than once without reusing the entire cite template. The decline looked to me a pretty close one, so I would say maybe two or three more sources about the company excluding fundraising and resubmit for another go at it. Willsome429 (say hey or see my edits!) 22:28, 28 October 2019 (UTC)

Question on Sources.

So I recently had an article declined by you over Tropical Storm Octave. You declines it for the reason "This submission is not adequately supported by reliable sources. Reliable sources are required so that information can be verified." I am wondering how the National Hurricane Center in the United States of America is not a reliable source? Can you please explain? Thanks for your time and help.Elijahandskip (talk) 14:57, 28 October 2019 (UTC)

@Elijahandskip: As noted in my review comment, in order for a subject to be included on Wikipedia, there must be siginificant coverage in multiple independent sources. The point of contention is not that NOAA isn't reliable - it most certaily is - it's that there need to be multiple reliable sources. Hope that helps. Request on 18:51:53, 30 October 2019 for assistance on AfC submission by Mightytotems

Hi! I'm a bit perplexed why the revisions were declined. According to WP:SELFSOURCE, my usage of Twitter sources are considered reliable. Furthermore, the information contained in the Twitter sources are backed up by other third-party sources referenced.

Mightytotems (talk) 18:51, 30 October 2019 (UTC)

@Mightytotems: My posted reasoning was a little misleading. It should have said that Twitter is not a reliable source for indicating notability. While it is okay to source content on a page, it is not useful for determining notability of a page, as anybody or anything could have a page and reference it through their socials. As for a course of action going forward, I would add about two more sources independent of the league (I’m sure there are some) and resubmit - the page visually looked pretty good. Willsome429 (say hey or see my edits!) 20:06, 30 October 2019 (UTC)
Ok, thanks for the feedback! I've removed all tweets references and added additional sources for notability concerns as you asked. Mightytotems (talk) 19:52, 2 November 2019 (UTC)

CityFalcondraft rejection

Hello there. Recently you have rejected this draft

Could you please clarify in detail what should be done to make this page published?

Gevlar (talk) 10:07, 1 November 2019 (UTC)

@Gevlar: The draft was resubmitted without improvement, so the previous comments by CNMall41 still apply. Please see WP:NCORP for notability guidelines on how to establish notability for companies. The main issue seems to be in the reliability of the sources - a lot of the sources are from organizations affiliated with CityFalcon, such as Level39 and Kickstart. More outside, independent, significant coverage of the company needs to be added. Giving more context on accelerators and linking to page(s) about business accelerators will also help provide context for the article. New Page Review newsletter November 2019

Hello Willsome429,

This newsletter comes a little earlier than usual because the backlog is rising again and the holidays are coming very soon.

Getting the queue to 0

There are now 816 holders of the New Page Reviewer flag! Most of you requested the user right to be able to do something about the huge backlog but it's still roughly less than 10% doing 90% of the work. Now it's time for action.
Exactly one year ago there were 'only' 3,650 unreviewed articles, now we will soon be approaching 7,000 despite the growing number of requests for the NPR user right. If each reviewer soon does only 2 reviews a day over five days, the backlog will be down to zero and the daily input can then be processed by every reviewer doing only 1 review every 2 days - that's only a few minutes work on the bus on the way to the office or to class! Let's get this over and done with in time to relax for the holidays.
Want to join? Consider adding the NPP Pledge userbox.
Our next newsletter will announce the winners of some really cool awards.

Coordinator

Admin Barkeep49 has been officially invested as NPP/NPR coordinator by a unanimous consensus of the community. This is a complex role and he will need all the help he can get from other experienced reviewers.

This month's refresher course

Paid editing is still causing headaches for even our most experienced reviewers: This official Wikipedia article will be an eye-opener to anyone who joined Wikipedia or obtained the NPR right since 2015. See The Hallmarks to know exactly what to look for and take time to examine all the sources.

Tools
  • It is now possible to select new pages by date range. This was requested by reviewers who want to patrol from the middle of the list.
  • It is now also possible for accredited reviewers to put any article back into the New Pages Feed for re-review. The link is under 'Tools' in the side bar.
Reviewer Feedback

Would you like feedback on your reviews? Are you an experienced reviewer who can give feedback to other reviewers? If so there are two new feedback pilot programs. New Reviewer mentorship will match newer reviewers with an experienced reviewer with a new reviewer. The other program will be an occasional peer review cohort for moderate or experienced reviewers to give feedback to each other. The first cohort will launch November 13.

Second set of eyes
  • Not only are New Page Reviewers the guardians of quality of new articles, they are also in a position to ensure that pages are being correctly tagged for deletion and maintenance and that new authors are not being bitten. This is an important feature of your work, especially while some routine tagging for deletion can still be carried out by non NPR holders and inexperienced users. Read about it at the Monitoring the system section in the tutorial. If you come across such editors doing good work, don't hesitate to encourage them to apply for NPR.
  • Do be sure to have our talk page on your watchlist. There are often items that require reviewers' special attention, such as to watch out for pages by known socks or disruptive editors, technical issues and new developments, and of course to provide advice for other reviewers.
Arbitration Committee

The annual ArbCom election will be coming up soon. All eligible users will be invited to vote. While not directly concerned with NPR, Arbcom cases often lead back to notability and deletion issues and/or actions by holders of advanced user rights.

Community Wish list

There is to be no wish list for WMF encyclopedias this year. We thank Community Tech for their hard work addressing our long list of requirements which somewhat overwhelmed them last year, and we look forward to a successful completion.

ArbCom 2019 election voter message

Hello! Voting in the 2019 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 on Monday, 2 December 2019. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2019 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}} to your user talk page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 00:20, 19 November 2019 (UTC)

Declining Draft:Titiksha_(Festival)

Thanks for taking the time to look at the draft I created for the technical fest of our college. It hurts to see it getting decline but I hope you will help me fix it and get it approved next time. The reason you stated was that I gave only university links for reference but I have also provided newspaper links for the post of the events they did. There are links of last year and also posts dating back to 2013. It's an annual event and the biggest technical one in the whole state. Any help is appreciated.Shoaib Ahmed 00 (talk) 08:24, 29 November 2019 (UTC)

@Shoaib Ahmed 00: Hi Shoaib, and thank you for reaching out. I apologize for any miscommunication that may have occurred - I recognized that you had references from an outside source (Daily Excelsior) mixed in with the university links. Per Wikipedia's verifiability policy, all topics must be covered by multiple outside sources. The Daily Excelsior references are a good start, but it needs outside coverage from at least one other place, and preferably two or three more. After you have those added, feel free to resubmit. Thanks, Willsome429 (say hey or see my edits!) 20:38, 30 November 2019 (UTC)
@Willsome429: Hey, thanks for replying. As per your suggestion, I added 4 different sources apart from university and previously used Daily excelsior. I have resubmitted it, so let's hope for the best.Shoaib Ahmed 00 (talk) 04:00, 1 December 2019 (UTC)

Question

Hello Willsome, thanks for reviewing my article on Antham, but I don't think that article deserve to be in draftspace as there are two reliable sources which covers the article. Unfortunately, I could only find two sources which are reliable for that article. There are many stub articles in wikipedia which only has maximum of two reliable sources which are in article space. Anyway, there are also many films which are little covered by sources/media which are in article space. I have created many articles on Indian film articles which are stub and they are reviewed (by other patrollers/reviewers) either having some tags in the article or not at all, but they are never moved to the draftspace. Hoping for your reply sooner or later. Tolly4bolly 05:47, 5 December 2019 (UTC)

@Tolly4Bolly: Thanks for reaching out. WP:OTHERSTUFFEXISTS really isn't a good indicator of what "deserves" to be in the mainspace, as all cases are unique. The main issue I had with the page is that all of the sources are in the "Reviews" section, leaving all of the basic information of the film (director, cast, etc.) open to questioning. Even if it's reusing citations, I'd like to see some citations in other sections besides "reviews". Thanks, Willsome429 (say hey or see my edits!) 14:18, 6 December 2019 (UTC)

Request on 09:01:37, 19 December 2019 for assistance on AfC submission by Bysance

Apologies for being so late replying to your message. Like you, I am a volunteer on Wikipedia and had to attend more pressing commitments. I reviewed your comments carefully and thank you for it. For reference, here is the author ORCID number: orcid.org/0000-0002-4941-3776 40 years of work and more than 1,00 artworks spread throughout various internet portals - Wikimedia among them (I didn't include any commercial links for obvious reason) but just out of curiosity, how many publications, how many artworks does an individual need to produce to qualify for an article in Wikipedia? I know your field of expertise is sport, but all the same, your guidance to make this article better will be much appreciated.

Bysance (talk) 09:01, 19 December 2019 (UTC)

@Bysance: Thanks for reaching out! It's not a matter of how many works an artist has, but how much outside coverage they have received. For the person to be notable, there need to be multiple reliable, independent sources demonstrating significant coverage (more than just a passing mention). Some good examples would be local news coverage of the subject's exhibitions, or profiles from art websites. Hope that helps! Willsome429 (say hey or see my edits!) 14:33, 19 December 2019 (UTC)
Thanks for your prompt response Wilsome429. You pin-point my problem accurately: how do I quote news articles that are more than 5 years old and/or links to site that are commercials by nature? My intent is to create a background & information page, not an advertisement for commercial websites or galleries the artist is associated with. How do I go about it and be consistent with Wikimedia objectives and guidelines?

As you noticed, all the links and references I selected are either academic publications or non profit activities for that very reason. On a personal note, I know you have a keen interest in sport, but don't you think even the sport world can benefit from educational and cultural information. Your guidance will be appreciated. Bysance (talk) 05:37 pm, 19 December 2019 (UTC)

@Bysance: Please don't try to call me uncultured. While I primarily focus on sport online, I am heavily involved in performing arts. That being said, Wikipedia:Citation templates should have all the templates you'll need, delineating among different templates based on different types of sources. There is a cite press release template if some of those are in there, otheriwse if the article is online I'd reccomend "cite web" or if they are only in print, "cite news". I do appreciate your commitment to a neutral point of view, as it demonstrates a good knowledge of the encyclopedia. Regards, Willsome429 (say hey or see my edits!) 23:34, 19 December 2019 (UTC)
Far from me calling you uncultured Wilsome429, your edits list speaks volume for your broad interests. I’ll work on reformatting my draft according to the citation templates you recommended & let you know when ready. Thk for the help.(talk) 04:22 pm, 19 December 2019 (UTC)

Reviewer of the Year

This year's Reviewer of the Year is Rosguill. Having gotten the reviewer PERM in August 2018, they have been a regular reviewer of articles and redirects, been an active participant in the NPP community, and has been the driving force for the emerging NPP Source Guide that will help reviewers better evaluate sourcing and notability in many countries for which it has historically been difficult.

Special commendation again goes to Onel5969 who ends the year as one of our most prolific reviewers for the second consecutive year. Thanks also to Boleyn and JTtheOG who have been in the top 5 for the last two years as well.

Several newer editors have done a lot of work with CAPTAIN MEDUSA and DannyS712 (who has also written bots which have patrolled thousands of redirects) being new reviewers since this time last year.

Thanks to them and to everyone reading this who has participated in New Page Patrol this year.

Redirect autopatrol

A recent Request for Comment on creating a new redirect autopatrol pseduo-permission was closed early. New Page Reviewers are now able to nominate editors who have an established track record creating uncontroversial redirects. At the individual discretion of any administrator or after 24 hours and a consensus of at least 3 New Page Reviewers an editor may be added to a list of users whose redirects will be patrolled automatically by DannyS712 bot III.

Source Guide Discussion

Set to launch early in the new year is our first New Page Patrol Source Guide discussion. These discussions are designed to solicit input on sources in places and topic areas that might otherwise be harder for reviewers to evaluate. The hope is that this will allow us to improve the accuracy of our patrols for articles using these sources (and/or give us places to perform a WP:BEFORE prior to nominating for deletion). Please watch the New Page Patrol talk page for more information.

This month's refresher course

While New Page Reviewers are an experienced set of editors, we all benefit from an occasional review. This month consider refreshing yourself on Wikipedia:Notability (geographic features). Also consider how we can take the time for quality in this area. For instance, sources to verify human settlements, which are presumed notable, can often be found in seconds. This lets us avoid the (ugly) 'Needs more refs' tag.

Speedy deletion nomination of Zhangpeiyao/sandbox

A tag has been placed on Zhangpeiyao/sandbox requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section R2 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a redirect from the article namespace to a different namespace except the Category, Template, Wikipedia, Help, or Portal namespaces.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Merry Christmas!

Belgium, Wisconsin

Hello, I'm not sure why you undid my additions to Belgium, Wisconsin. If, as you said in your note, "More info is good!" I don't see what the problem is, because I added more info, including extensive additions to the "History" section, as well as the "Name" section. Could you please explain your rationale? 2600:1702:3B70:80A0:3D84:680D:B6F5:D498 (talk) 04:06, 4 January 2020 (UTC)

I got your messages! Thank you!

Hi Willsome 429, it's been a while since I've messaged you on your talk page, and I wanted to say thanks for telling me about all of these guidelines, etc. for new articles since that's been what I've gotten into recently as I know you've seen. The reason it seems like I've been doing ARCA drivers is because that seems to be an area where we're lacking right now. It is nice to know that articles about those drivers will need to use sources from multiple places since it's not one of the 3 main NASCAR series. I will keep this in mind and take your advice as I keep editing. In regards to your point about me creating articles that aren't fully finished yet, I do try the best I can to avoid that. I know on some pages (especially Tom Hessert), they did not look finished at all when I wrote them and I've realized that. In my more recent articles, I've decided to create pages about drivers who have been around a bit less than he has so it's easier for me to get it done in like an hour or so. For example, yesterday, I created Tim Richmond. Stay tuned to my user page to see what articles I'll be creating next. I do have a couple more drivers in mind. Lastly, I will tell you this (and will probably post on my user page soon), that I actually won't be editing much after a couple more weeks since I go back to college. Here and there, yes, but writing tons of new articles, no. Once again, thanks so much for your feedback on my articles (and everyone else's edits too) and for making/helping the NASCAR articles be the best they can be! Braden Mitchell

Why did you AFD this article? He is a former part-time NASCAR Gander TRUCKS driver (notice the caps on TRUCKS because according to WP:NMOTORSPORT, anybody who competes in NASCAR Trucks, he or she is considered notable.) NASCARfan0548  21:04, 9 January 2020 (UTC)

Hi Max, and thank you for reaching out. Straight from number one on the motorsport guideline, "[A motorsports driver is presumed notbale if they] have driven in a race in a fully professional series." Mitchell's record in fully competitive series? Zero starts, one did not qualify. Merely attempting a race does not make you notable. He has no other registered statistics on Racing Reference, making it one of the more random attempts of the 2010s. An outside search by me revealed little in the way of meaningful coverage to pass GNG, therefore my decision to XFD the article. Hope that helps. Regards, Willsome429 (say hey or see my edits!) 21:58, 9 January 2020 (UTC)
Cavanaughs expanded the article now. NASCARfan0548  22:45, 9 January 2020 (UTC)

you keep removing my edits -- I sourced it and everything. So if i just give it to you, will you put it on there since ya'll seem to be picky about formatting

here ya go

In 2003, the school advanced to the football state playoffs for only the 2nd time in school history, and the first since 1991. The team advanced to the state semi-finals under the guidance of head coach Roger Holtkamp, with a string of comeback victories before falling to New Braunfels High. With Ronnie Ayers at the helm, a rushing attack led by Arrion Satcherwhite, Lawrence "Shakey" Beller, all-district tight end David Weems and future Texas Tech signee L.A. Reed catching passes, an offensive line containing Taylor Cobb, huge special teams contributions from kicker Colin Hartwell and punter Bryan Hearron, and a defense anchored by defensive end Tabares Harris, two-way running back and linebacker Nick Wagner, leading tackler and district newcomer of the year Garrett Smith, and safety Lance Nobile, the War Eagles were able to upset heavily favored Beaumont Ozen 16-13 despite trailing 13-3. After a Satcherwhite rushing touchdown to take the lead, Ozen marched down to the Oak Ridge 23. However, Nobile's pass break up in the end zone as time expired sealed the victory for the War Eagles. The 2nd round saw the War Eagles matched up against Plugerville Connally, resulting in another dramatic win 17-13. Down 13-7 after halftime, Hartwell's 45 yard field goal and a Beller interception leading to his rushing touchdown on the last play of the 3rd quarter, the War Eagles held the lead 17-13 heading in to the 4th quarter. Connally drove down to the 1 yard line, only to see Beller cause a fumble that was recovered by the War Eagles and effectively ended the game. The quarterfinal round brought freezing temperatures and a hard hitting defensive battle against the undefeated Dayton Broncos, led by All-State Honorable Mention QB Calvin Davis and FB Lamar Mitchell. Dayton took a 3-0 lead on a field goal with :08 seconds left in the 1st quarter; thanks to a goal-line interception, they held that same lead at the intermission. Injuries to Dayton star fullback Lamar Mitchell (31 yards in the game) and quarterback Calvin Davis in the 4th quarter forced the Dayton offense into a punting situation around midfield. All-district kicker/punter Jorge Carranco muffed the snap, and the War Eagles recovered at the Dayton 48. Facing a 3rd and 18, Ayers flipped a pass out to the flat, and Beller juked his way to the first down -- setting up Satcherwhite's game winning 9 yard touchdown run with 2:54 seconds. The dream died at the hooves of the Unicorns the following week, 17-7. The War Eagles came out scorching hot on offense, only to have their field goal attempt blocked. Ben Campos missed a 40 yard attempt for New Braunfels, but an interception by Ayers gave the Unicorns the ball back at their 25. A 13 play drive lead to a 29 yard Campos field goal, and a 0-3 early deficit. The War Eagles were stopped on offense and punted, with Jarred Steele making the tackle on Chris Thayer and forcing a fumble. This turned into a missed opportunity when the Unicorns recovered, and went on a long drive with multiple 3rd down conversions, capped off by a trick pass to Jimmy Quiroz. Despite wearing jersey #90, he reported as eligible and caught a long touchdown pass from Frankie Valadez and make it 10-0. They threatened again before the half, after converting a fake punt, but an intentional grounding penalty pushed them out of field goal range and sent the game to the half. Oak Ridge came out of the intermission and forced a fumble on the Unicorns opening drive, recovered by Beller. A long pass play to L.A. Reed set up a Nick Wagner touchdown run, and the comeback kids had the momentum again. 9 plays, 76 yards, and a 21 yard scramble for a touchdown by Valadez ended the momentum and the scoring for the game. The teams traded fumbles and turnovers on downs for the remainder of the game, with both Valadez (14 carries-110 yards-1 touchdown) and Jeff Finley (28 carries-125 yards) going over the century mark on the ground and exhibiting an effective ball control offense. This season marked the first post-season victory for the War Eagles, and put the Unicorns back in the state championship for the first time since 1945.

References

@Orhssean06: Honestly, I only saw the second one. While I do appreciate the sourcing, there were a couple of issues with it. Mainly, it fell under the distinction of WP:CRUFT, meaning that the extremely detailed summary of the game would only be of interest to a small amount of readers. Second, there were issues with point of view, as Wikipedia is meant to be a neutral distributor of information, not a storytelling service. Thirdly, I work fairly a lot with high school pages, and we normally only list state championships or runners-up. If there are any articles about any ORHS state titles/runners-up, you can add those to the article. If you have any further questions, please feel free to reply below. Apology

Sorry. My apologies to you, ZappaOMatic, and Royalbroil for asking to help me repeatedly. I just can't add results tables to NASCAR drivers. I feel bad now. NASCARfan0548  15:06, 13 January 2020 (UTC)

No reason to feel bad! I thought that it was for a lack of time, not a lack of knowledge. I have a results template at User:Willsome429/Stock car results which should have most of the blank table formats you need; Template:NASCAR driver results legend has all of the color fills and when to use them. Sorry for the misunderstanding! Willsome429 (say hey or see my edits!) 15:40, 13 January 2020 (UTC)

It's OK! I know a lot about Wikipedia, including draftspace. NASCARfan0548  15:53, 13 January 2020 (UTC)

Draft:David Gravel

Hi Willsome, I need some help here. Could you please edit this article so that it would go back into mainspace, because I can't edit myself? Thank you. You can go to my article creations page to see all the articles I created. I want David Gravel one of those articles in my list. NASCARfan0548  20:35, 14 January 2020 (UTC)

Hi Max! The beauty of draftspace is that anybody can edit it and submit it for review. The point is to have a collaborative workspace where you can mold it to your liking before submitting it for review. If you don't have an "edit" tab on the page, let an administrator know! Willsome429 (say hey or see my edits!) 20:53, 14 January 2020 (UTC)

Help me!

I can't add results tables to articles I created, even after you gave me tips on how to do that, so could you please help me expand, for example, Travis Miller, Jody Knowles, and Kelly Admiraal? NASCARfan0548  15:49, 21 January 2020 (UTC)

I'm in the middle of finals right now, so that's not going to happen for the near future, unfortunately. A good start, however, would be to expand said pages with more reliable sources that demonstrate significant coverage, instead of mass-creating stubs with only one source and little to no prose. Recent edit on Herriman High School

Hi, you recently reverted this edit by 204.126.92.108 on Herriman High School, stating that the link was dead, however, it appears the link is not dead. I've also found several other sources confirming their edit. I was going to update the article accordingly unless you had another reason for removing this edit? —FORMALDUDE(talk) 02:28, 23 January 2020 (UTC)

I clicked on it twice to make sure and it kicked me to a 404 page each time. If you have other corroborating sources I’m not opposed to the content being readded if it is specifically a Herriman problem and not a Utah problem as a whole. Sorry for the confusion! Willsome429 (say hey or see my edits!) 02:37, 23 January 2020 (UTC)

Hm, it has worked for me every time. Maybe make sure you don't have Adblock on and clear your cache/cookies? I ran the url (wsj.com/articles/one-teenager-killed-himself-six-more-followed-11555061402) through deadlinkchecker.com and it loaded successfully on 214/219 attempts. No worries though, I just updated the article! Thanks for getting back so quick. —FORMALDUDE(talk) 03:31, 23 January 2020 (UTC)

Regarding Yuhihai Page

Hi Willsome429, I've been working on the Yuhihai tournament page draft and completed it with the results information as you requested several months back when the draft was declined (it has since been resubmitted).

I have a quick question about external links: the Yuhihai page has several external links in the introduction and the "UCLA Kendo" section. Should I move all of these over to the "External Links" section, or keep them as is? What's the threshold at which there are too many links in the main body of the page?

Best, KendoGirl (talk) 17:29, 23 January 2020 (UTC)

Thanks for asking! The only place there should be external links in a page, save for the occasional infobox field, is in the External Links section. Otherwise, some may view it as advertising, which Wikipedia is not. Regards, Willsome429 (say hey or see my edits!) 17:46, 23 January 2020 (UTC)

Thanks for the quick response! I went ahead and moved all the external links to the appropriate section.

Billy Pauch Page

Is there a reason as to why you reverted my fathers page back to its old one? It's extremely outdated so I want to update it with all of the proper information.

(talk page watcher) Mandeepauch, we aren't a webhost or Facebook. Your father does not have a "page" here. No one does. This is an encyclopedia and we have articles on notable subjects. Everything in it must be paraphrased from reliable published secondary sources. What you know about your father does not belong here. You are a primary source. That is if you are indeed his daughter, which we have no way to know. Are you beginning to see the issues? We base our content on reliable published sources and the subject of the article (or their heirs) have no control over its content. John from Idegon (talk) 16:10, 27 January 2020 (UTC)

Your Edit of Roland Wlodyka

Hi Willsome429,

I'm extremely new here and admittedly don't know all the rules and procedures. I only joined wiki to correct the wiki page of my recently deceased, very close relative, Roland Wlodyka. During the funeral today we noticed that you had made a major overhaul of my entry which removed much of his history as a crew chief, particularly during the 80's and 90's. While some details may have lacked proper sourcing, all of the information was accurate. Much of it was painstakingly recreated by searching for crew chief data on "Racing Reference". Also, while you did add a citation of his obituary, you changed his death location to Fort Mill S.C. This is inaccurate. The funeral home IS located in Fort Mill; however, I can assure you that he passed in his home in Clover S.C. I know this because I was there. Please know that I take no offense to your changes and I reiterate that I don't know the proper processes here. I would, however, like to rectify these issues prior to his Celebration of Life Service in two weeks. My hope is that I can find a way to have his wiki page more completely reflect all of his contributions to the sport. Any advice/assistance that you can give me in correcting and/or properly sourcing the information that I had previously entered would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you, KessldaKesslda (talk) 00:34, 4 February 2020 (UTC)

Hi, and thanks for reaching out. I’m a frequent user of Racing-Reference myself so I’ll go back in and re-add that. If you can find any other articles/obituaries that say that the place of death is Clover, drop it here and I’ll change that as well. My condolences to you and yours as well in this time. Willsome429 (say hey or see my edits!) 03:47, 4 February 2020 (UTC)

Thanks for your kindness Willsome429. I really appreciate you taking the time to edit this entry. It's perfect. Since you are a fan of motorsports and as a way of demonstrating where some of my improperly sourced information came from, I thought I might share with you a link to some of that material. Please don't feel the need to do anything with this information. I send it along just for interest. ( https://us.motorsport.com/nascar-truck/news/ford-racing-roland-wlodyka-crew-chief/1752636/ ) Also, while I can't find an obituary that states "Clover" as his final home, I did some that list "Lake Wylie". For us blue collar types we call the area Clover. Some of the transplants prefer the more posh designation of Lake Wylie. It's semantics. Where we live you can put either town on your letter and it still comes to the same address.  :) Here's a link to one of those ( http://www.tributes.com/obituary/show/Roland-Leonard-Wlodyka-108111718 ). Anyway, thanks again for your kindness and patience. It was greatly appreciated. Kesslda (talk) 22:39, 5 February 2020 (UTC)Kesslda

Thank you for sending those over, I'll make good use of them. From an outsider's point of view, it looks like the distance between the government-designated limits of Clover and Lake Wylie are about 10 miles apart, which are a little too far for me to change it to Clover, as other editors may question it if the obituary says Lake Wylie and the page says Clover. Thank you for remaining civil throughout, and if you need anything else, please don't hesitate to ask. Willsome429 (say hey or see my edits!) 20:58, 6 February 2020 (UTC)

New Page Reviewer newsletter February 2020

Hello Willsome429,

Source Guide Discussion

The first NPP source guide discussion is now underway. It covers a wide range of sources in Ghana with the goal of providing more guidance to reviewers about sources they might see when reviewing pages. Hopefully, new page reviewers will join others interested in reliable sources and those with expertise in these sources to make the discussion a success.

Redirects

New to NPP? Looking to try something a little different? Consider patrolling some redirects. Redirects are relatively easy to review, can be found easily through the New Pages Feed. You can find more information about how to patrol redirects at WP:RPATROL.

Discussions and Resources
Refresher

Geographic regions, areas and places generally do not need general notability guideline type sourcing. When evaluating whether an article meets this notability guideline please also consider whether it might actually be a form of WP:SPAM for a development project (e.g. PR for a large luxury residential development) and not actually covered by the guideline.

Please stop undoing changes to my own Wikipedia page that I created! I find your changes disruptive. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Pxion130 (talkcontribs)

@Pxion130: According to the page history, Wausau East High School was created by a user named SyricChase. Does this mean that you are using multiple accounts? You also still have provided no explanation as to why the content is notable or a source to confirm the list of principals. It is not "your page", it is an encyclopedia entry that anyone can edit. Please justify the content or it will be removed. Willsome429 (say hey or see my edits!) 13:26, 8 March 2020 (UTC)

I'm still learning how Wikipedia works on AfD's

Please don't get mad at me, Willsome. I'm just learning how AfD's work. I want to become an admin on Wikipedia one day. NASCARfan0548  18:47, 25 March 2020 (UTC)

NASCARfan0548 I understand that it’s a learning process, it’s just that we’ve been down this road before (User talk:NASCARfan0548/Archive 1#South Fork AfD, User talk:NASCARfan0548/Archive 1#October 2019). Plus, your rationale for keep implied that you did not at all read the deletion rationale, which was almost the exact opposite of your rationale. If you really do want to understand AfDs, I’d recommend reading the AfD primers found on the side of each AfD and then doing some non-motorsport ones to try and gain more experience across the board. Hope this helps, if you have any questions with AfD specifically please feel free to reach out, Ive chimes in on over 500 AfD discussions.
