Sorry will

A nice Scandinavian man named Tyler has made me realize that calling you a dick because you wouldn’t let me slander Jean Schmidt was rude and I would like to apologize. I am just a troll who as I stated likes to vandalize Wikipedia articles for fun because I don’t have much else to do. So I would like to formally apologize to you sir. But I will not apologize to Jean Schmidt. 2600:1009:B15F:EE54:6DC6:C9B2:9EB8:29F4 (talk) 15:35, 5 May 2022 (UTC)

No idea what to make of that, sorry. Will take the time to respond to issues with my edits if expressed clearly. signed, Willondon (talk) 04:01, 6 May 2022 (UTC)

No official reporting. Can you revert? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Jefedecine (talkcontribs) 21:51, 10 May 2022 (UTC)

It's okay to wait for something official, something published by a newspaper or magazine web site that has a reputation for and a stake in fact checking. Facebook isn't regarded as a reliable source because, of course, anybody can post something. Unlikely that a friend would hoax, but often people get it wrong. Especially in the case of a report of death on a biography of a living person, it's very important that Wikipedia get it right. Even if that means waiting for a bit. signed, Willondon (talk) 22:12, 10 May 2022 (UTC)

What a mess. Please see WP:ENB#Undisclosed assignment from Kenyon College. Cheers. Magnolia677 (talk) 20:23, 12 May 2022 (UTC)

Thanks for that heads up. I certainly sensed something was afoot. signed, Willondon (talk) 20:49, 12 May 2022 (UTC)

Explained / unexplained

Nope, I explained myself.

This page has information about the US economy ten years out of date, that costs the average person at the gas pump hundreds of billions of dollars.

The revert was made by someone who didn't follow protocol.

Since you don't have anything valid to add, why bother?

You had ten years to update the info. 49.183.10.84 (talk) 18:08, 22 May 2022 (UTC)

Referring to this [1] revert on Oil sands, I assume. signed, Willondon (talk) 18:10, 22 May 2022 (UTC)

U5 and draftspace

Hello, Willondon. I noticed that you have tagged drafts under U5. However, as the prefix suggests, that criterion can only be used in userspace. Please stop tagging pages in draftspace under that criterion. Thank you, Sdrqaz (talk) 18:41, 8 June 2022 (UTC)

OK. Sorry about that. signed, Willondon (talk) 19:04, 8 June 2022 (UTC)

Question

So, according to the WP: PLOTBLOAT, the rules of Wikipedia require that Mid- and post-credit scenes from the movie should generally not be included in the plot summary?

If it is, not only I apologize about the post-credit thing, but I stand corrected. 174.233.0.175 (talk) 21:21, 21 June 2022 (UTC)

I never refer to these guidelines as rules of Wikipedia requiring anything, but, yes, WP:PLOTBLOAT specifically refers to one-off jokes and mid- and post-credit scenes. The community consensus has evolved to treat plot summaries as brief accounts of the film, and not as detailed blow-by-blow descriptions of all the scenes. Post-credit scenes are rarely a critical part of the plot, so eliminating them helps keep summaries brief. You'll notice the article for this movie, Don't Look Up, contains a description of the mid-credits scene. I was among those that reverted it, but a consensus evolved to keep it; presumably because some think the mid-movie scene where "Brontoroc" is introduced doesn't make complete sense without the mid-credit follow-up. Personally, movie-wise, I think it was a waste of scene time and dialogue to set up a lame joke at the end. Anyway, that's the rationale for not including post-credit scenes. Gammes (UK)

Willondon....I Don't Understand!

Does The entry I posted under name Gammes (UK)have to be paid for!! All I posted was informatiion regarding all the songs I wrote (and own the 100% copyright too) in order to give the contributors to my recording sessions credit and acknowledgement....I am not infringing any copyright laws as I own all my songs legally outright as I paid for the recording sessions myself which makes me the outright legal owner of all these songs which is laid down in music copyright law....Other people have created pages for their music info ..why can't I!.. There is nothing in what I wrote that can be viewed as unacceptable so is it that I have to pay for what I have just submitted! and if so how do I go about paying for it

Kind regards

Gammes(UK).... — Preceding unsigned comment added by Gammes (UK) (talkcontribs) 17:22, 11 July 2022 (UTC)

Definitely not paid for. That would be a conflict of interest, and cast a lot of doubt on the legitimacy of the page. What's at issue is that Wikipedia hosts articles on topics that have been covered or written about by secondary sources. Notability is what's important for an article, and this is established by citing reliable sources. Primary sources, i.e. links to original works, your own web page, interviews, sources that just list performances or recordings without comment, etc. are of little value in establishing the noteworthiness of a topic. This is looked upon as essentially using Wikipedia as a web host for a personal or company web page. This is the thing that is not acceptable. No doubt there are others who have created pages for their music info, but they shouldn't be there. signed, Willondon (talk) 17:37, 11 July 2022 (UTC)

Thank You Willondon....I understand what you are saying....so if I stated that there are YouTube Videos available for all my songs and giving the details of Each song would that be enough to satisfy publishing rules!!....(And by the way I do not know how to write Links as i am relatively New to computers)

     Thank You Willondon

Well, no. Those would be what are known as primary sources. They don't establish notability, because of course anybody can do those things, and it's not necessarily notable. That's why secondary sources are needed for an article, sources like trade magazines, mainstream press coverage, music magazines, books: anything that demonstrates that someone reliable, who is not directly related to the topic, has taken note of it and published substantial comment or coverage of it. signed, Willondon (talk) 18:10, 11 July 2022 (UTC)

Midnight

Hi,

I reverted the edit in midnight page because the photo is taken in midnight , my home is very worse and I always can’t sleep in midnight.

thumb|200px Cheng123xx (talk) 17:24, 1 September 2022 (UTC)

Even though the photo is taken at midnight, it doesn't illustrate midnight very well. In fact, it's not really clear what it is a picture of. There are two other pictures in the article which adequately illustrate the topic midnight. signed, Willondon (talk) 17:27, 1 September 2022 (UTC)

Clinical mental health counseling

I see you added back the mass of cleanup tags at Clinical mental health counseling. I agree with your edit, but it leads to an interesting phenomena I've never seen before. Can you figure out what it is (look at the edit history). Cheers. Magnolia677 (talk) 12:36, 19 September 2022 (UTC)

Thanks for your note. I don't see it right away. Yummm, a day off work, and a fresh puzzle to contemplate. Give me some time. I'll ping you for a hint if I can't get it. Cheers. signed, Willondon (talk) 15:55, 19 September 2022 (UTC)
I'll give you a hint anyway...notice all the brand new editors, making mostly cosmetic edits? Magnolia677 (talk) 22:16, 19 September 2022 (UTC)
Yes, I see. Well over a dozen accounts. Except for one spammer, it doesn't seem like any are SPA accounts, or of dubious intentions. Curious curation. I'll bet some scholastic project is afoot. signed, Willondon (talk) 22:29, 20 September 2022 (UTC)
