On warning vandals

Thank you for your work with vandals, but please consider not proceeding immediately to a 4th level warning, start a bit lower.xenocidic (talk) 16:21, 5 July 2008 (UTC)

I see this was an exception and not a rule for you, but unless the vandalism is completely off-the-wall inappropriate perhaps start with a L3. cheers, –xenocidic (talk) 16:23, 5 July 2008 (UTC)

WYMT Weekend 'Casts

I did a few searches and didn't find anything concrete. I wasn't expecting to, it being the weekend and all, I will check again tomorrow and see what I can find. Take Care and Enjoy Your Sunday...NeutralHomerTalk • October 26, 2008 @ 14:19

I checked TitanTV as well (they are pretty on the ball) and nothing from them either. Wonder if this is a Gray thing they are going to be doing. I live near Gray station TV3 Winchester and it wouldn't surprise me if a 'cast went with the people who are leaving. - NeutralHomerTalk • October 26, 2008 @ 14:40
48 cents?! Wow! That is sad....yeah, I would say it is financial. Which makes me wonder if TV3 Winchester will be around much longer. I wonder how much it costs to run a station that essentially serves 4 counties. - NeutralHomerTalk • October 26, 2008 @ 14:54

Hey Neighbor

Hey, I just saw your edits on the WLFG article, so I looked at your userpage and we have a bit in common. I live over in Buchanan County, VA; I bet there probably aren't many other people from our area on Wikipedia. Just thought I"d say hi :-). SheepNotGoats (Talk) 15:24, 30 October 2008 (UTC)

WDRL

You can mention the sale price, I have in other articles. A link to that FCC document would be great as well :) If you need help, please feel free to ask. - NeutralHomerTalk • October 30, 2008 @ 17:12

Excellent :) That should make the "source" people happy. I will keep an eye out for anymore WDRL information in case further information needs to be added. - NeutralHomerTalk • October 30, 2008 @ 17:43

adding Obama to things

Thanks for understanding... in general, I feel that all the articles that list the various Presidents should wait to add Obama until he is inaugurated and actually becomes President. After all, what if he dies between now and January? (God forbid). Blueboar (talk) 19:59, 9 November 2008 (UTC)

Re: WYMT weekend newscast cancellation follow-up

Sorry about the slow reply. I have been doing some catchup since my Wikibreak. I find it odd they would cancel newscasts at an established station like WYMT, but the delisting from the NYSE and their plumpeting stock prices probably have something to do with it. No changes at WHSV or TV3 Winchester, so it looks like it was just there at WYMT....for now. Keep me in the loop on that email you sent. Take Care and Enjoy Your Sunday...NeutralHomerTalk • November 9, 2008 @ 06:58

Re: Interesting news about Gray TV

I wouldn't be surprised if some of the Charlottesville stations don't drop some newscasts. They are consistantly beat by WVIR-TV in the ratings, so that would be something I would knock out to save money. Probably satellite station WSWG will be sold, wouldn't surprise me if TV3 Winchester was sold to Shenandoah University and continued it's ABC programming ala KOMU.

Lots of things can be done, just have to wait and see, I guess. Take Care...NeutralHomerTalk • November 16, 2008 @ 00:13

Re: 75.108.73.219's edits

At first it was helpful because it was an area that no updating was going on. But after changing edits back and forth and back and forth, sometime replacing text with text previously removed, it has now become extremely annoying. I would considering watching the edits and if they look to you like they are going in the vandalism route, revert. I would pass that by an admin first too :) Take Care...NeutralHomerTalk • November 18, 2008 @ 23:35

mythbusters (season 7)

that page needs to be deleted, the official discovery channal website recently put up a list of episodes and according to them there currently is no season 7 and since they make the show i think that we should agree with them Redekopmark (talk) 19:22, 18 November 2008 (UTC)

You need to justify your reverts on Misery (film)

Besides the fact that I'm an IP, you need to explain why you continue to revert my edits on this article and what you makes you think those edits are vandalism, despite the edit summaries I've left. Then you need to explain to me why you think it's ok to continue to revert something without first discussing the changes that are being made and then you need to explain why this is helpful to Wikipedia's project goals. 24.18.46.102 (talk) 20:42, 19 November 2008 (UTC)

Your request for rollback

After reviewing your request for rollback, I have enabled rollback on your account. Keep in mind these things when going to use rollback:

  • Getting rollback is no more momentous than installing Twinkle.
  • Rollback can be used to revert vandalism only, and not good faith edits.
  • Rollback may be removed at any time.

If you no longer want rollback, then contact me and I'll remove it. Also, for some information on how to use rollback, you can view this page. I'm sure you'll do great with rollback, just leave me a message if you run into troubles or have any questions about appropriate/inappropriate use of rollback. Happy editing! Kentucky Baptist Convention

Looks like a good start. Wonder if there are any good, third-party sources we can consult? My strategy has been to locate good sources and add them to a Further reading section. Then, when I have enough to make a solid expansion, I start. Speaking of Baptists, my next expansion is Governor James Garrard, who was also an early Baptist minister. Gee it was just ClueBot's Sandbox. I was just testing.[1] 59.95.101.186 (talk) 18:07, 27 November 2008 (UTC)

I'll just point out that the ClueBot sandbox is a test space. Inappropriate edits to it are supposed to be reverted by ClueBot as vandalism - to test detection engine/warning posting. Clark89 (talk) 21:09, 28 November 2008 (UTC)

Re: Retransmission consent controversy involving WCYB-TV

I think it is worth a mention. This is something that Comcast is doing right now with WUSA-TV. WUSA wants to charge a VERY small fee, which I can't blame them, and Comcast doesn't want to pay it (of course). That is even worth a mention. Let me know if you need help writing the section on it and if I can help further. Take Care...NeutralHomerTalk • December 1, 2008 @ 18:21

Sorry for the slow reply. Got like 4 messages on top of yours and missed yours in the process. I read the section and it is very well written and referenced (which is always good). Re: WTCW

The True Oldies Channel website has been known to be a little out of date. They FINALLY got around to adding WVRW in Glenville, West Virginia, which has been an affiliate for 6 months. So, I think Dravecky was adding information he thought was correct, only it wasn't because of the main affiliate list on the True Oldies Channel website is out of date.

Before reverting, I have messaged him to get his opinion and will go from there. Take Care...NeutralHomerTalk • December 21, 2008 @ 00:29

Dravecky pulled the oldies information for the time being and is looking to find a third-party source that will say officially if the station is Classic Country or really is going to flip to the "True Oldies" format.
Dravecky also said you can contact him at any time...he said, jokingly, that he "is mostly harmless". :) I am going to work with Dravecky and see if we can nail down which format they are....continued Classic Country as they are now, or soon to be True Oldies. I will let you know what we find out and if you hear or read something about the station, please let us know. Thanks and Take Care...NeutralHomerTalk • December 21, 2008 @ 03:35

Lindsey Wilson

Yeah, like many of our articles on private colleges, Lindsey Wilson has been in bad shape for a while. (Kentucky Wesleyan College was worse; someone added so much about the football team that it had to be split into its own article to avoid undue weight!) Tagging it isn't likely to get it fixed any time soon, but it can't hurt. Right now, I've got several irons in the fire, or I'd see what I could do to help.

BTW, your improvement of Alice Lloyd College did not go unnoticed. You took it from a stub to an actual decent article. Kudos. Acdixon (talk contribs count) 13:41, 23 December 2008 (UTC)

Alice Lloyd Alumni

Seems our new friend at the Alice Lloyd College article has been following our conversation; he's dropped in some nice sourcing on his most recent addition. I've dropped him a note on his talk page. Between us, we can get him acclimated, and you might have a new partner in getting that article up to snuff. Belated Merry Christmas to you! But it makes sense, air entering the stomach can act the same as when a stomach is pumped. I'm not trying to change wikipedia to be funny. I was removing vandalism and I left a reason

In the Total Drama Island talk there is a message that simply says "i <3 this show!" That is a completely useless topic so I deleted it. If you would look in the history page you would see I left an explanation. Also, how did you remove my edit so fast?Eyenuh300 (talk) 22:32, 2 January 2009 (UTC)

Responded on your talk page. Willking1979 (talk) 22:49, 2 January 2009 (UTC)

This is similar so I've left this message in this thread. How can you make an edit summary for removing vandalism that has a link to the page that has been revert and has (HG) also as a link. Also, what does HG mean? --Readopedia (talk) 23:56, 3 January 2009 (UTC)

Hi

It would have been worth looking into this series of edits a bit more deeply.[2]. The IP had added wikilinks as s/he claimed, and so the tag removals were good faith edits even if the wikifying wasn't finished perhaps. Thanks for all your work, though. --Slp1 (talk) 18:38, 3 January 2009 (UTC)

I see now...I sincerely apologize. Two other RC patrollers apparently made the same mistake, though. Thanks and Happy New Year, Willking1979 (talk) 18:49, 3 January 2009 (UTC)
Apologizing to the IP might be a nice touch, I think, though I have made a beginning. I do urge you to be very careful with Huggle. It is very fast, and very bitey and damaging towards the real people at the other end of the computer screen who are trying to help. --Slp1 (talk) 18:55, 3 January 2009 (UTC)
Just apologized to the IPer. Willking1979 (talk) 19:15, 3 January 2009 (UTC)

Post a {{whois|WLEX-TV}} message on the IP's talk page and then add a little note about coflict of interest issues linking to WP:COI. If their edits continue after that, you should take it to ANI for comment.

Personally, as long as the users are editing from a neutral point of view, I see no problem with them editing. I am in the minority in that way of thinking, which is why I would add the notes. Uh, I changed uncited OR and an inaccurate description that was furthermore against consensus to a sourced interp. Someone reverted me without any discussion or attempt at offering a cite. Is what is happening here what I think is happening here? 198.163.53.11 (talk) 20:37, 7 January 2009 (UTC)

Not necessarily. We talk about many things on this talk page, not a single issue. But regarding Planetary habitability, I like that title better rather than astrobiological potential. Very interesting discussion there, though. Willking1979 (talk) 20:55, 7 January 2009 (UTC)

UK men's basketball

Would you please revert the vandalism on Kentucky Wildcats men's basketball? I'd do it myself, but I'd run afoul of WP:3RR. Would you mind also warning this bonehead IP editor? I haven't had time to look up the appropriate vandalism warning yet. Thanks. Acdixon (talk contribs count) 17:00, 9 January 2009 (UTC)

Reverted vandalism. Issued a level 2 warning. Willking1979 (talk) 17:11, 9 January 2009 (UTC)
Looks like our "friend" has registered now. User:Stevent356 just reverted the edit again. At least he'll be easier to block if he keeps this up, but it's a pain steering clear of WP:3RR in the interim when the edit is something so stupid. Acdixon (talk contribs count) 00:34, 10 January 2009 (UTC)
I reverted the edits again...smells like a sock to me. I will issue a sockpuppetry report soon. Willking1979 (talk) 00:42, 10 January 2009 (UTC)
Just issued a sockpuppetry case on WP:SSP. Willking1979 (talk) 00:58, 10 January 2009 (UTC)
I wasn't sure what the appropriate procedure was here. I just like writing and improving articles! :) Thanks for taking care of it, and let me know if I can help in some way. Acdixon (talk contribs count) 01:50, 10 January 2009 (UTC)
You're welcome...Have a great weekend. :) Willking1979 (talk) 01:57, 10 January 2009 (UTC)

Vandalism Disney Channel Games

Just a quick question. I see that you reverted the vandalism done by Ramamohanamahati on the Disney Channel Games page. Before the edits by Ramamohanamahati a user from 124.123.75.96 made exactly the same changes as Ramamohanamahati after that. I'm almost sure that this edit is also incorrect and need to be reverted but I'm not 100% sure. See: http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Disney_Channel_Games&diff=262966789&oldid=262953298. Thanks Cyzor (talk) 17:55, 9 January 2009 (UTC)

Reverted to your version a few minutes ago. I did use rollback, but that did not work, so I used "Undo". I will issue a sockpuppet report later. Willking1979 (talk) 18:13, 9 January 2009 (UTC)
Sockpuppetry case reported to WP:SSP. Willking1979 (talk) 18:31, 9 January 2009 (UTC)

COI/WJHL

If you have already tagged it, good catch and good call. I would also rewrite that sentence in a NPOV way and tag it with {{fact}} tag. Again, good catch :) Take Care...NeutralHomerTalk • January 9, 2009 @ 20:54

Just reworded the article. Here is the diff: [3] Your thoughts??? Willking1979 (talk) 21:08, 9 January 2009 (UTC)
Looks good :) I am not sure if the area papers down that way publish the ratings, I will try and give a look but I won't guarantee anything. Take Care...NeutralHomerTalk • January 9, 2009 @ 21:16
I haven't seen the ratings either. It would be a shock if WJHL has beaten WCYB in the ratings because CYB has been very strong for decades. Willking1979 (talk) 21:32, 9 January 2009 (UTC)
It has been known to happen. For years WUSA was the king of Washington television, now it is WRC and WUSA is 3rd. So, it has been known to happen. - NeutralHomerTalk • January 9, 2009 @ 21:47

The detailed contents of Joseon Dynasty was moved to History of Joseon Dynasty. Why did you revert my edit? ADKTE (talk) 14:41, 11 January 2009 (UTC)

Could you please correct your mistake? ADKTE (talk) 14:44, 11 January 2009 (UTC)

AN/I

AN/I is for incidents requiring admin intervention. I don't really understand the relevance of your recent post about the cluebot site - am I to assume it was the wrong venue, or did I miss something entirely? Thanks, neuro(talk) 23:49, 11 January 2009 (UTC)

Since I now have internet access again after a super-duper loooong downtime (over eight and a half hours), I'll finally answer the question. I apologize if the post did not belong there. I also posted the ClueBot question on the bot owners' noticeboard as well. There was a false positive regarding Joseon Dynasty earlier today and tried to report it through ClueBot's own URL, but it was broken for some reason earlier today. I instead posted the false positive on ClueBot's "how-to report" page on Wiki. Hopefully this will answer your question. Thanks, Willking1979 (talk) 03:10, 12 January 2009 (UTC)
