March 2022 edit

Please do not attack other editors, as you did at Talk:Lauren Southern. Comment on content, not on contributors. Personal attacks damage the community and deter users. Please stay cool and keep this in mind while editing. “approaching CIR territory” was not a personal attack. Doug Weller talk 19:57, 12 March 2022 (UTC)Reply

It says within that article "It does not mean we should label people as incompetent. Calling someone incompetent is a personal attack and is not helpful."
Given that their first comment was "Thats bullshit", this seems like they initiated the conversation by being beligerent.
The only thing i believe i said that could be construed as a personal attack was "lazyness or intellectual dishonesty" The reason I.E. "What RS do you even have that she contests those labels? Please see".
This is a person that has numerous edits to this page, and has been debating the structure of it for some time. There are sources clearly stating that she contests those labels within the opening paragraphs of this article. Aswell as multiple other sources referenced within conversations within the talk page that this user had taken part in. This seems like purposeful argument for the sake of argument, hence my above comment. Dialogue of this nature is not conductive to the talk page achieving its purpose, and i question whether this user has an innapropriate bias towards the topic of the BLP. Given the idenfiers listed on their User Talkpage and that a political activist of the nature of the topic of the BLP might have opinions that this User finds deragatory or insulting.
I apologize for the wording i used, i understand that it could be construed as a personal attack, i will refrain from using such languang in the future.
I am new to wikipedia and i have not taken part in a dialogue of this nature before, i would like to better understand the method through which users are able to remediate a consensus in an article. I have looked at several RFA and RFB applications and seen dialogues of similar nature on previous talk pages for this article and i think it might be appropriate to have another. Discretionary sanctions alert - biography of living persons edit

This is a standard message to notify contributors about an administrative ruling in effect. It does not imply that there are any issues with your contributions to date.

You have shown interest in articles about living or recently deceased people, and edits relating to the subject (living or recently deceased) of such biographical articles. Due to past disruption in this topic area, a more stringent set of rules called discretionary sanctions is in effect. Any administrator may impose sanctions on editors who do not strictly follow Wikipedia's policies, or the page-specific restrictions, when making edits related to the topic.

For additional information, please see the guidance on discretionary sanctions and the Arbitration Committee's decision here. If you have any questions, or any doubts regarding what edits are appropriate, you are welcome to discuss them with me or any other editor.
