AFD Nominations edit

You tagged a number of articles with {{afd}}. However, you never completed the nomination process. There are three steps to doing an AFD nomination and you only did the first one. As such, I have removed the AFD tags from these articles since it's been over 24 hours. If you still feel these articles should be deleted, you are welcome to renominate them, but you need to follow all three steps. Please see WP:AFD for the instructions. Feel free to ask me questions. Thanks. -- JLaTondre 21:32, 26 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

The nom of Jhomel Santos is sill incomplete. Would you mind completing this one? The discussion page link goes to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/PageName, which itself tells being the wrong place! Thanks. Tizio 14:34, 27 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

Your edit summary on Joey de Leon edit

I agree with what you said on your edit summary here. You missed out one thing, though..."cynically" is considered biased, and so would be the rest of the comments you deleted. Moreover, those now-deleted edits potentially violates the living biographies policy as they were all unsourced. Either way, you still did the right thing...good job on that ;-) --- Tito Pao 21:32, 19 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

Rollback edit

You have been granted with the rollback permission on the basis of your recent effort on dealing with vandalism. The rollback is a revert tool which can lessens the strains that normal javascripts such as twinkle put on the Wikipedia servers. You will find that you will revert faster through the rollback than through the normal reversion tools such as javascripts and the undo feature, which means that you could save time especially when reverting very large articles such as the George W. Bush page. To use it, simply click the [rollback] (which should appear unbloded if you have twinkle installed) link on the lastest diff page which should appear beside the link to the user's contributions. The rollback link will also appear on the history page beside the edit summary of the lastest edit. For more information, you may refer to this page. Eli Soriano's Awards edit

Hi, I would like to call your attention to the Awards and Recognitions section of the Eliseo_Soriano article. I was unable to source 99.9% of the award-giving-bodies. When I Google them on quotes like "Sons and Daughter of Charity" then add "Philippines" as a qualifier the only website that comes up is the one here in WP.

According to the official website of [Gawad Amerika] "Gawad Amerika is an independent award-giving body based in the USA that recognizes the achievements of Fil-Am people in the field of acting, singing, professional carrers, businesses and the Life Time achievements since 2001." This is the real Gawad Amerika award and Soriano's group, who seem to be creating temporary award giving bodies for the purpose of giving awards to Soriano (and also to a few others so that it will not be so obvious) seem to have undermined the existence of a real Gawad Amerika, who only gives awards to Fil-Am people, and created their own temporary Gawad Amerika.

I was happy to find the Gawad Amerika website because I thought that at last I found an award-giving body that really exists, but alas! it is a different Gawad Amerika.

I also noticed that an award received by their website is listed there. How is it that an award intended for their church's website became an award of Soriano? That award is for the webmaster.

There is so much anomaly in that list. Barangay level appreciations were included, as well as awards issued by an unnotable radio program. All of them should not belong to an encyclopedia.

I will be reproducing this message for another editor.

Thanks! — Shannon Rose (talk) 16:50, 17 February 2008 (UTC)Reply

I believe the Gawad America is legitimate. There's a video posted on youtube that supports this but I think it should not be here. There's already mention in the Ang Dating Daan article about the award. The rest of the awards are non notable and should be be removed. Wikiuserphil (talk) 23:20, 17 March 2008 (UTC)Reply
Hello, I saw the youtube video re:Gawad Amerika and concluded that it was a fake Gawad Amerika, which awarded Filipinos in other fields (e.g. April Boy Regino/singer-songwriter) in order to make it look legitimate, created for the sole purpose of awarding Soriano. The reason for this conclusion is, if you will go to the official [Gawad Amerika] website it states there quite clearly that they award outstanding Filipino-Americans only. If you will look at the video you will see that all those shown to receive their awards are pure Filipinos and not Fil-Ams. Soriano has the reputation of having his organization create ghost award giving bodies for the purpose of giving him grandiose awards. — Shannon Rose (talk) 11:42, 18 March 2008 (UTC)Reply
Their official myspace blog lists non Fil-Ams as well. This year's honorees are Manila Mayor Lito Atienza who will accept the Lifetime Achievement Award, award-winning actress Judy Ann Santos, TV Host Ryan Agoncillo, singer-composer-scriptwriter Cheryl Marie and the singing couple Dingdong Avanzado and Jessa Saragoza. Notice that they are the same awardees that appeared in the youtube video.Wikiuserphil (talk) 14:26, 23 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

BLP Noticeboard Invitation edit

Hi Wikiuserphil! I am inviting you to join the discussions here. Here is the link. I am trying to prove that the lead section of the Eliseo Soriano article is POV and more importantly, libelous. Thanks! 180.191.66.131 (talk) 03:37, 3 June 2010 (UTC)Reply

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process.
