Thanks, @WikiDan61:! I believe I now got the hang of it. I deleted "primary sources" as much as possible and added a few news articles. There are obviously many more to add.

Question about possible COI edit

Hello, @Wikinewby2017:, my name is Eggishorn and I noticed some edits of yours that have caused me some concern. I wanted to make sure that you were aware of the conflict of interest requirements. The reason why I am posting this is because I noticed that you have tried to create and article about Gernot Wagner which has been declined and you have also asked for a very recent article by that author to be added to the Chemtrail conspiracy theory article. I don't know if you are Dr. Wagner and I am not asking you to disclose if you are. If, however, you are connected to them through an external (to Wikipedia) relationship, you should read that guideline. As it says: Any external relationship—personal, religious, political, academic, legal, or financial...can trigger a COI. If no such connection or relationship exists, then I apologize in advance for having trespassed on your time. Thank you for your time and attention to this. Eggishorn (talk) (contrib) 17:14, 20 December 2017 (UTC)Reply

Thanks, @Eggishorn:, I am aware of this guideline. I am neither Gernot Wagner nor Bob Litterman, another page I have just created and that is currently under review. I do know the (environmental) economic community, in particularly the rather small climate economic community quite well. I noticed the missing page about Wagner while exploring pages on the Chemtrail_conspiracy_theory as well as others connected to this field. For example, I am also about to edit the page for Nat Keohane, although I have not yet done so. I would also like to create pages for Larry Linden and perhaps some other (environmental) economists like Solomon Hsiang. I trust that is OK. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Wikinewby2017 (talkcontribs) 14:30, December 20, 2017 (UTC)

I have no objection to that and I don't think anyone else will. Two other things, though: 1) it sounds like you're planning on sticking around. That's great and we're glad to have you but just in case you regret being "Wikinewby" in six months or so, you might want to keep this link handy. 2) You should sign your posts on talk pages such as this. This is as easy as typing a row of four tilde characters (~~~~) at the end of your post. Thanks again. Eggishorn (talk) (contrib) 19:57, 20 December 2017 (UTC)Reply
Thank you! :-) Wikinewby2017 (talk) 19:59, 20 December 2017 (UTC)Reply
Thanks again, @Eggishorn:, I have since also created a page for Solomon Hsiang, which had been promptly marked for deletion. I hope it's now in good enough shape to survive this first round, though I realize it is not yet as well sources as either Robert Litterman or Gernot Wagner's pages. Changing user names edit

In answer to the question you posted to your user page, you can't change your user name yourself. A certain type of functionary called a "global renamer" has to do it for you. You can find out more at this information page. If or when you do request a new user name, I'd suggest you don't make it something you want to update yearly since the policy on changing your name says: Frivolous, repeated, or inappropriate requests will be declined. I hope this helps. Eggishorn (talk) (contrib) 15:10, 7 January 2018 (UTC)Reply

Good to know, thanks! I guess I can live with my decision from late in 2017. It reflects the truth after all. --Wikinewby2017 (talk) 19:22, 10 January 2018 (UTC)Reply

Proposed deletion of Solomon hsiang edit

The article Solomon hsiang has been proposed for deletion because it appears to have no references. Under Wikipedia policy, this biography of a living person will be deleted after seven days unless it has at least one reference to a reliable source that directly supports material in the article.

If you created the article, please don't be offended. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Referencing for beginners, or ask at the help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp/dated}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within seven days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one. Boleyn (talk) 22:39, 12 January 2018 (UTC)Reply

Sorry, give me a day or two please to add more content and sources Wikinewby2017 (talk) 02:31, 13 January 2018 (UTC)Reply
Wikinewby2017, asking for forbearance here isn't going to do any good. You have two options with BLPPROD nominations like this: Add at least one verifiable reliable source to the article before an admin acts on the request or copy the contents to a user sandbox where you can take more time to find the sources you need and bring it back to main space later. Hope this helps. Eggishorn (talk) (contrib) 02:43, 13 January 2018 (UTC)Reply
Thanks! I just added three sources. I hope that does it. Wikinewby2017 (talk) 02:49, 13 January 2018 (UTC)Reply

Solomon Hsiang moved to draftspace edit

An article you recently created, Solomon Hsiang, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please follow the confirms on the Articles for Creation template atop the page.  I dream of horses  If you reply here, please ping me by adding {{U|I dream of horses}} to your message  (talk to me) (My edits) @ 20:39, 13 January 2018 (UTC)Reply

Thanks, I dream of horses. I agree, and I'll work on it soon for it to make the cut. I'm just hoping my other -- I hope much better -- draft articles, for Robert Litterman and Gernot Wagner, will be approved soon. Wikinewby2017 (talk) 23:00, 13 January 2018 (UTC)Reply

Peter C. Goldmark Jr.‎ edit

Hi Wikinewbiy2017, Thank you for your interest in the Peter C. Goldmark Jr.‎ article and, no doubt, Goldmark himself! Unfortunately, while it may be true that he mentored many to good effect, it is not described in the article and, if it were, it would need to be substantiated by a reliable reference and cited in a neutral manner (see: WP:NPOV). Consequently, I reverted your good-faith edit. Keep up you good work! Cheers, HopsonRoad (talk) 22:40, 27 February 2018 (UTC)Reply

Thanks, HopsonRoad, no problem. Wikinewby2017 (talk)
