Your recent edits edit

Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. When you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion (but never when editing articles), please be sure to sign your posts. There are two ways to do this. Either:

  1. Add four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment; or
  2. With the cursor positioned at the end of your comment, click on the signature button (  or  ) located above the edit window.

This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is necessary to allow other editors to easily see who wrote what and when.

Thank you. --SineBot (talk) 15:14, 19 November 2013 (UTC)Reply

AfD's edit

I just wanted to let you know that the article for deletion discussions are not a reflection on your editing abilities, or even your judgement. I appreciate that you are approaching the discussions in a very reasonable way. We are a collaborative project, so other editors will weigh in as to whether the articles should be retained or not. You may wish to read WP:DISCUSSAFD and WP:OUTCOMES to better understand the AfD process. - MrX 19:55, 19 November 2013 (UTC)Reply

Thanks MrX. I've made some changes to the article and added some references. Could you take a look please and let me know what else I should do to prove the awards notibility? Thanks Wikibenh (talk) 16:02, 20 November 2013 (UTC)Reply
By typing one or more colons (:) before your posts, they will be indented so that we can follow the thread.
I looked at the two sources that you added and I still do not believe that they are sufficient for notability purposes. This one is about Stephen Fry and only mentions Whatsonstage.com in the photo caption. It certainly would contribute to notability, but is not convincing by itself. This one is not a reliable source for demonstrating notability. Newspapers are good sources for establishing notability, but blogs and closely affiliated sources like officiallondontheatre.co.uk are not. Other editors will of course disagree with me, which is why the AfD process is so useful
If you're primary purpose here is to promote the Whatsonstage.com or if you have a conflict of interest, then I can't help you much more. My interests lie with building the encyclopedia as whole, across a wide variety of topic areas. Notably, the editor who created this article was blocked for spamming, so please be mindful of that. - MrX 17:24, 20 November 2013 (UTC)Reply
OK, so I'll look for some more sources from newspapers. My primary purpose is to document one of the largest awards in theatre not to promote the organisation. My inspiration behind making the edits was that I use Wikipedia to look up past winners of Oscars, Oliviers, Tony's etc but couldnt do so for whatsonstage, which seemed mad. Didn't realised adding information to wikipedia was so hard, but I understand why it needs to be strict. Wikibenh (talk) 17:30, 20 November 2013 (UTC)Reply
