Sourcing

Hello. I've come across a number of your recent edits and, taking issue with some of them, I want to point out (helpfully, I hope) that Wikipedia policy does not dictate every individual sentence in an article have a footnote, which you appear to think is the case. Material unlikely to be challenged, for example, does not necessarily need a footnote, and if a source covers several consecutive sentences you only need to place the footnote after the last one, so as to avoid citation clutter. The essays WP:CITEKILL and WP:BLUE explain this well. Per WP:CITELEAD, lead's also do not need extensive sourcing, as lead's are just a reflection of what the article body already states and verifies. I'm in agreement on this. Please see WP:OVERTAGGING. For sections in need of lots of help, we have section cleanup templates to address those areas. I'd also consider deleting some unsourced statements instead of flagging for citations, particularly if the statements are trivial and do not materially improve our understanding of the subject. Example: "At this time he also started singing lessons but stopped going after missing a class.[citation needed]" could easily have been cut. Hope that helps, 10011. Welcome to Wikipedia. Everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia. However, talk pages are meant to be a record of a discussion; deleting or editing legitimate comments, as you did at Talk:Al Thompson (actor), is considered bad practice, even if you meant well. Even making spelling and grammatical corrections in others' comments is generally frowned upon, as it tends to irritate the users whose comments you are correcting.
