Your recent edits edit

Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. When you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion (but never when editing articles), please be sure to sign your posts. There are two ways to do this. Either:

  1. Add four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment; or
  2. With the cursor positioned at the end of your comment, click on the signature button (  or  ) located above the edit window.

This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is necessary to allow other editors to easily see who wrote what and when.

Thank you. --SineBot (talk) 16:25, 17 September 2015 (UTC)Reply

Article edit

WikiGurrrL, the article has been undeleted and removed to draft space, at Draft:Rodleen Getsic, for you to make those improvements. Yngvadottir (talk) 15:24, 9 October 2015 (UTC)Reply

Help me! edit

Please help me with... This conversation! Please help answer my questions regarding establishing "notability" for Rodleen Getsic. She is a musician that has sang as a supporting vocalist on albums. She is also an actress, film producer, and she has done public service internationally. I feel like these guys are all ganging up on me, in my attempt to figure this out. I wish more people would get involved in the conversation - that could actually help me toward restoring her Wikipedia article. The fact is, Rodleen Getsic has several reasons why she should have a Wikipedia article. I intend to figure out how to make this happen by finding "reliable sources". Thank you for your time.

I don't think you need anyone else in that conversation, they have already given some great advice to guide and help you. If I were you I would ask them to place the article in Draft space so you can work on it. You will need to find sources which meet WP:RS.McMatter (talk)/(contrib) 01:24, 13 October 2015 (UTC)Reply

Thank you McMatter for responding to my quest for help. I have read the WP:RS but I still do not fully understand what makes something a "reliable source". They did put the article in draft space, but it is all just confusing for me to understand, really just getting "reliable sources". One of the dudes said I should just give up. I will if I have to, but first I need to understand why this singer is not "notable" when she has been on albums, including a platinum album, and she has been written up in magazines, not only for her singing but also for her film Bunny Game.

I checked out the Teahouse. Do you think I should go there to talk to others who might be able to explain how "reliable sources" works? I guess it's the technical way things are explained that I just need help understanding. WikiGurrrL (talk) 03:16, 13 October 2015 (UTC)Reply

You need to understand what reliable sources are, but you also need to understand what WP:NOTABILITY is in relation to Wikipedia articles. Being on a few albums, being in an indie film, allegedly doing public service are not guarantees of notability per Wikipedia guidelines. I know several people who could all honestly claim the same, and none of them have the notability needed that warrants an article in Wikipedia. -- WV 03:21, 13 October 2015 (UTC)Reply
