Broadwater Farm edit

Sorry, but I've reverted your additions to Broadwater Farm. Firstly, as you are aware this is a controversial topic so please don't add material without reliable sources; more importantly, do not add unsourced defamatory biographical comments. This is definitely not to say you shouldn't write on this article, but Wikipedia is a tertiary source, meaning everything here has to be sourced from somewhere else, and has very strict rules about what we can write about living people. – iridescent 21:42, 2 April 2009 (UTC)Reply

Proposed deletion of 2009–10 Herts Senior Cup edit

The article 2009–10 Herts Senior Cup has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Other articles on invididual installments of county cups have been deleted as non-notable, this one is no different. Also, article creator has never returned to add anything beyond 2 first-round matches........

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. ChrisTheDude (talk) 14:35, 19 July 2010 (UTC)Reply

Cheshunt F.C. edit

Please stop your reverts on this article, as you are removing the Stadium section (which Cheshunt Stadium now redirects to as it is not noteworthy for a separate article), messing up the templates at the bottom and reintroducing spelling mistakes. Your preferred version is also unencylopedic - full of opinion, comment and unencyclopedic language. In addition, as someone connected with the club, I advise reading WP:COI. Regards, Number 57 09:28, 12 January 2011 (UTC)Reply

You have constantly reverted the Cheshunt Football Club history back to a truncated version (which, incidentally, I was also originally responsible for creating, though it has been edited so much it is hardly recognisable now) for no aparent reason.
I gave the reasoning above. Also, see WP:OWN - the fact that you created it is totally irrelevant.
Compare the two pages. It is clear the version you keep restoring contains less information, skips many individuals conected with the club and ends three years ago - giving the impression it has not been kept up to date.
As noted above, much of the information you would like to include is opinion and comment. The reason the history "ends" three years ago is because nothing particularly noteworthy has happened in that period - no promotion, relegation or cup wins.
You wiped the Cheshunt Stadium page, which I also created. You say it was not worthy of wikipedia. Why? It is an English sports ground, now in use for 61 years and having hosted several sports and noteworthy events. Several grounds of similar age and importance in the Isthmian league are allowed their own pages so why have you decided - on behalf of wikipedia - that Cheshunt Stadium shouldn't be on a par with them?
Only stadiums that have hosted national level football (i.e. Conference) should have articles. I assume the clubs in the Isthmian League that you refer to have previosly been at this level. If not, feel free to merge their content into the club articles.
You point out spelling mistakes yet, rather than correct them, you alter the entire page?
Yes
You say my connection with the club clashs with wikipedias own rules. I USED to be a committee member but left the club in 2009. I feel I am as qualified as anyone in the world to give an account of the clubs history and since leaving the club, I have written a 200-page club history and held an exhibition at the local museum.
Yes, you are qualified, but so is anyone who writes on Wikipedia.
I would be very interested to see your reasons for reverting a perfectly good club history back to a very short and unsatisfactory version.
Again, this was explained above.
and what knowledge you have of the club that qualifies you to do so?
Reliable sources such as the Football Club History Database
Incidentally, I have no interest in any of the other subjects you hold dear on this site and so shall not be altering the pages you have created, even though you have felt the need to alter mine.
Why do you even mention such petty behaviour?
I hope this goes further in explaning the rationale. Please do not blind revert again - reintroducing mistakes into articles when you have been told of them previously is verging on vandalism. Regards, Number 57 09:51, 7 March 2011 (UTC)Reply

Orphaned non-free media (File:Cheshunt FC badge 3.JPG) edit

Thanks for uploading File:Cheshunt FC badge 3.JPG. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Hazard-Bot (talk) 05:07, 10 June 2012 (UTC)Reply

Changing sourced material edit

Please don't changed information that is referenced to a specific source without replacing that source. When you changed the capacity of Cheshunt's ground, you left it referenced to the source used for the previous figure. This means that if someone looked it up in the source, it wouldn't correspond to what's in the article. If you have a source for the revised figure, then please use that instead. An unsourced figure is not acceptable, and the 2,000 figure is actually contradicted by the club website.

A few additional comments on your recent edit:

  • Could you also provide a source for the first game being against Novocastrians?

It was taken from a press cutting from the Hertfordshire Mercury 1888 I saw in the british libary. Copies and/or images are not allowed to be taken so I have no evidence to prove I am not lying.

  • Scorelines are written as 4–0 not 4-0

I cannot see a difference?

  • Seasons are written as 1919–20 not 1919/20

noted

  • The stadium section is almost entirely unsourced. Do you have any references for any of the material you added or was there previously?

Thanks, Number 57 15:14, 16 September 2017 (UTC) infomation on Cheshunt stadium can be found in the Club History 'happy ever amber' written in 2006. Additional information has been recorded over the years from conversations with ex players and officials, newspaper aticles and club programmes. Again I have not recordings of these conversations or means of producing old programmes online so cannot produce evidence to prove I am not lying Reply
