Can you explain what you're planning on doing with User:Walaa adel/Mos Def? Are you planning on doing some big edits to the page? I've removed the categories and interwiki links from that page, since they don't belong in User space, but unless you're planning on actually working on the page, keeping it in your User space could be considered a copyright violation, since you copied and pasted it there and have lost the edit history of the article. 99.166.95.142 (talk) 17:56, 7 October 2009 (UTC)Reply

Please stop! Please explain what you are doing. 99.166.95.142 (talk) 18:06, 7 October 2009 (UTC)Reply

User:Walaa adel/North American Free Trade Agreement, this page has also been copied into your User space. I've removed the categories and interwiki links from that page, since, as explained above, they don't belong in User space. Davshul (talk) 15:04, 15 December 2009 (UTC)Reply

Your contributed article, User:Walaa adel/Warfarin

edit

Hello, I notice that you recently created a new page, User:Walaa adel/Warfarin. First, thank you for your contribution; Wikipedia relies solely on the efforts of volunteers such as yourself. Unfortunately, the page you created covers a topic on which we already have a page - Warfarin. Because of the duplication, your article has been tagged for speedy deletion. Please note that this is not a comment on you personally and we hope you will to continue helping improve Wikipedia. If the topic of the article you created is one that interests you, then perhaps you would like to help out at Warfarin - you might like to discuss new information at the article's talk page.

If you think that the article you created should remain separate, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. Additionally if you would like to have someone review articles you create before they go live so they are not nominated for deletion shortly after you post them, allow me to suggest the article creation process and using our search feature to find related information we already have in the encyclopedia. Try not to be discouraged. Wikipedia looks forward to your future contributions. MuffledThud (talk) 13:56, 16 December 2009 (UTC)Reply

Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. speedy deletes declined

edit

Hello. Per the notice you received above, a tag had been placed on User:Walaa adel/Seasonal affective disorder requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. Please note that after review, I have declined the deletion request on the basis that CSD A10 applies to articles, not pages in userspace, so you do not need to worry about this article being speedily deleted, and there is no longer any need to place the template {{hangon}} in the article. Please note that speedy deletion is only one of three deletion processes on Wikipedia; my decline does not prevent users from invoking the separate, longer term deletion methods of proposed deletion or bringing the article to articles for deletion. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Other editors appear to have declined the various other speedy deletion requests lsited above. However, i do wonder why you have copies of so many articles in your user space. This is an unusual way to edit, and it may not achieve your intent. DES (talk) 18:27, 16 December 2009 (UTC)Reply

Why???

edit

To copy&paste one or two articles and then edit them is fine. When articles are copied and left untouched, it looks like vandalism. Please explain yourself. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 19:12, 16 December 2009 (UTC)Reply

I have now found your explanation. It still begs the question: why? Why can you not translate directly from the article namespace? And if you really must copy to user space, why is it too difficult for you to tidy up after yourself with the {{db-author}} tag? — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 19:39, 16 December 2009 (UTC)Reply

You have not been responsive to questions about these user-space pages. Indeed you have not edited the en Wikipedia under this account for more than a month. The category and other links in these pages are potential sources of confusion. I am going to nominate them for deletion at Wikipedia:Miscellany for deletion. If there is any continuing reason not to delete these pages, please respond here or in the appropriate WP:MFD sub page. DES (talk) 14:30, 17 December 2009 (UTC)Reply
See Wikipedia:Miscellany for deletion/Walaa adel page copies. Please comment there if there is any reason to retain these pages. DES (talk) 17:08, 17 December 2009 (UTC)Reply

Problem solved

edit

Please look at User:Walaa adel/sandbox. I translated this directly from ar:ضوء دندرة using the Google toolkit. The trick is: in the toolkit you change the first line of the translation to the article (or user space) title that you want Google to open when you use the "publish to source page" option.

Creating exact copies in your user space is totally unneccessary. I know that disk space is cheap and these copies do little harm but more than one editor has seen them and felt they were unwanted. So please stop. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 22:02, 17 December 2009 (UTC)Reply

Another important reason for translating directly from the article is that the edit summary generated by Google gives better compliance with the Wikipedia licence terms. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 18:37, 18 December 2009 (UTC)Reply

Civility

edit

It is considerd rather rude to ignore talk page messages. Please:

  • confirm that you have read my solution above and that you will not be creating any more cut&pastes of articles (eg. User:Walaa adel/Brand)
  • go to the MfD discussion and state that you have no objection to the articles being deleted.

I fully appreciate that you have a limited grasp of English. However you do have a good grasp of Google translator toolkit. It can be used to translate messages as well as articles! — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 18:25, 18 December 2009 (UTC)Reply
