New article

edit
@Loopy30:
Thank you for the welcome message, i m not sure if i m editing the right place to reply you, so i just start try here and see Melissadilara (talk) 14:18, 3 April 2021 (UTC)Reply
No problem, you can start a new message thread either here and ping me as you did, or at my talk page. Once a thread is started, it is best to continue that conversation on that page, and not in multiple locations.
I had just left a response message for you on iNat. It explains the steps I took to create the article (Armoracia sisymbrioides), and the steps you can try next. I already made one format change to the article because the quotation marks that format the italics and bold of the article name in the first line did not render correctly. You can see the change by looking at the "View history" tab of the article and comparing the differences, both in the markup and the visible page changes. 'Cheers, Loopy30 (talk) 15:19, 3 April 2021 (UTC)Reply
I was trying to add one of the variety of celosia argentea. it is as a draft under name of celosia argentea var. plumosa . Do you mind checking my draft if its ok. i will check your message now and follow the article Armoracia sisymbrioides Melissadilara (talk) 15:33, 3 April 2021 (UTC)Reply
Taxa lower than species generally do not warrant an article until such time that enough information can be found to fill a full article of their own. Until that time, it is best just to add to the parent species page. Loopy30 (talk) 19:03, 3 April 2021 (UTC)Reply
Then Bazzania topic will be needed to remove almost all the linkings?Melissadilara (talk) 07:14, 4 April 2021 (UTC)Reply
The redlinks at the genus Bazzania page are all pointing to species level pages, so they are fine as is. I would just amend the paragraph header to read "Species list". Loopy30 (talk) 10:50, 4 April 2021 (UTC)Reply

Taxon bar adding

edit

@Loopy30: I have quick question if you dont mind. I m trying to add the missing taxon bar to titles. Some of them doesn't show it. Am i doing something wrong or missing something? Ex: Bembicosoma. Melissadilara (talk) 12:46, 4 April 2021 (UTC)Reply

Hi Melissadilara, you did everything correctly on the Bembicosoma page. The taxonbar didn't display anything at the time because the corresponding Wikidata page was (mostly) empty. I populated the Wikidata page with an entry from Fossilworks (paleo.db), and now the taxonbar has something to display. Loopy30 (talk) 18:25, 4 April 2021 (UTC)Reply

Hi, thanks for adding taxonbars and templates for linking Wikispecies/Commons. Wikispecies and Commons should be placed before the taxonbar, not after. And in short articles it is usually preferable to use {{Wikispecies-inline}} and {{Commons-inline}} so that the link templates don't make the article longer vertically. Taxonbar should be just about the last element in an article. Only categories and then stub templates follow taxonbars ({{Authority control}} and {{DEFAULTSORT}} should go between taxonbars and categories when present, but these templates aren't used in most taxon articles). Thank you for the info @Plantdrew: :) Melissadilara (talk) 15:10, 27 April 2021 (UTC)Reply
