July 2007 edit

Welcome to Wikipedia. It might not have been your intention, but your recent contribution removed content from Four encounters. Please be more careful when editing pages and do not remove content from Wikipedia without a good reason, which should be specified in the edit summary. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. If you would like to experiment again, please use the sandbox. Thank you. I see you are the original author of the article (although there have been a couple intermediate edits to categorise it). If you want to delete the article, place the text {{db-author}} on the page. Angus Lepper(T, C, D) 10:40, 3 July 2007 (UTC)Reply
Ah, I see. I've redirected Four encounters to Four Encounters so that you can reach your page from both titles. For future reference, there's a button entitled move at the top of the page that you can use to move a page from one title to another, which will automatically create redirects (although it will ask you to manually correct any double redirects, whereby a page redirects to a redirect). Sorry for the warning above, I was watching the recent changes (as many editors do) and saw you blanking the page when the previous contributer wasn't you. I made a decision to revert you (which I would have done anyway, but not as vandalism) based on that, but I did revoke the warning when I saw what you were trying to do. Just so you don't feel I'm getting at you! Angus Lepper(T, C, D) 11:05, 3 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Nebulastapledon1.jpg edit

Thank you for uploading Image:Nebulastapledon1.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this image under "fair use" may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the image description page and add or clarify the reason why the image qualifies for fair use. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a fair use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for images used under the fair use policy require both a copyright tag and a fair use rationale.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it might be deleted by adminstrator within a few days in accordance with our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 14:41, 8 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

Disputed assertion of ownership over Bottle Boys titles.jpg edit

Hi,

I notice that you uploaded a screenshot from this series and claim that you created it entirely by yourself, licensing it under the Creative Commons license.

However, if this is a screenshot of the original series- regardless of whether you reproduced it by pointing a camera at the screen as appears to be the case- then it is owned by the original copyright holders.

If you were involved in the creation of the original title sequence *and* you have the right to release it under the Creative Commons license, please supply some evidence, or at least a clear explanation of the situation.

If this is not the case, then this image is only usable under fair use. I have changed it to this license and supplied a rationale (although it would normally be deleted unless you yourself supplied a fair use rationale within a week or so).

If uploading screenshots in the future, please use an appropriate license and provide an explanation if you are within your rights to license it under the Creative Commons. Thank you. Ubcule (talk) 18:42, 12 May 2010 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of Repurpose edit

A tag has been placed on Repurpose requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A9 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a musical recording which does not indicate why its subject is important or significant, and where the artist's article has never existed, has been deleted or is eligible for deletion itself. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for music.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag - if no such tag exists then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hangon tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. — Timneu22 · talk 13:00, 28 May 2010 (UTC)Reply
