Orphaned non-free media (File:Wanderers Football Club badge.png) edit

  Thanks for uploading File:Wanderers Football Club badge.png. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Hazard-Bot (talk) 05:09, 12 June 2013 (UTC)Reply

Okay - well I have the rights to the image; how do I make it free to all? Ukmarkwilson (talk) 19:33, 26 August 2018 (UTC)Reply

Managing a conflict of interest edit

  Hello, Ukmarkwilson. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:

In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.

Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. 331dot (talk) 16:17, 5 June 2022 (UTC)Reply

@331dot Thanks for your reply. I am a volunteer at Wanderers FC so happy to disclose that for the record. I'm not entirely sure how best to deal with these individuals who are essentially defacing the contents of the page which have previously been considered acceptable to the guidelines and community. Is there a complaints procedure? 2A02:C7C:3603:E900:C851:620B:EA5A:AD98 (talk) 16:25, 5 June 2022 (UTC)Reply
I understand that you strongly disagree with the edits that remove the information about your club, but this is not defacement or vandalism, they have provided reasons for their edits. I don't know who is right, but you must discuss this content dispute on the talk page. If that fails, dispute resolution measures are available. If there is a user behavior issue, you may go to WP:ANI- but I don't see one here.
I noticed one post you made in 2018 where you say you could go to court to claim the history of your club- legal threats are not permitted on Wikipedia. I say this just for future reference. We cannot stop you from using the courts of your country, but you may not edit if you make legal threats, nor if you have a legal action underway. 331dot (talk) 17:26, 5 June 2022 (UTC)Reply
@331dot Thanks.

There was no threat of legal action whatsoever - it was a statement that relates to what AFC Wimbledon did to ensure they were viewed as the continuation of Wimbledon FC, which were moved to Milton Keynes and became MK Dons.

The claim by one of the editors that 'the majority' of people agree with him is unsubstantiated.

I am happy to engage in discussions with the users in question via the Talk pages. However, if they remain intransigent and unwilling to participate in dispute resolution, where does that leave us? 2A02:C7C:3603:E900:C851:620B:EA5A:AD98 (talk) 17:54, 5 June 2022 (UTC)Reply

I would prefer not to speculate about what might happen before it happens. 331dot (talk) 18:26, 5 June 2022 (UTC)Reply
