Adil Doğançay edit

Hi there. Regarding the above article, there are two points:

  1. The text in the article is directly taken from the website of the Doğançay Musuem. I am presuming - please excuse me if this is not so - that you are in fact the author of both, and that you are reusing your own text. In that case you need to make that clear on the Talk Page of the article, as otherwise it risks being deleted as a possible copyright violation. (If you are not, then the permission of the website author would be necessary).
  2. If you are able to give some additional independent sources that would confirm the notability of Adil Doğançay as an artist, that would be extremely useful.

Speedy deletion of Cones Series edit

A tag has been placed on Cones Series requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. gordonrox24 (talk) 20:12, 3 April 2009 (UTC)Reply

Two more stubs edit

I feel that both Ribbons series and Walls of Alexander are best dealt with within the article about the artist. None of your edits have actually been deleted - please pick up your text via the article histories and merge it. (Suggest same for Cones Series obviously.) — RHaworth (Talk | contribs) 03:50, 4 April 2009 (UTC)Reply

Mavi Senfoni edit

Hi. I'm terribly sorry, but I've deleted your article on the Mavi Senfoni. This is not because I don't think it meets notability criteria; rather, it's because your content feels so much like it was copied out of a museum brochure or similar, I was forced to conclude that this is what you did. Which is not allowed. You'll have to start over, although to make things easier, I'll give you the list of URLs you included at the end.

To get an idea of how the article should feel, try reading other Wikipedia articles about major works of art. Here's how the first sentence should look:

Mavi Senfoni (Symphony in Blue) is a 1987 work of art by Burhan Dogançay, executed for the first International [[Istanbul Biennial.

You should not describe it as being wonderful (or magnificent or skillful or harmonious, etc etc), although if a given critic has described it as such, you can quote them as saying so.

August 2016 edit

Hello! Thank you for your recent contributions to Burhan Doğançay. I did have one note for you. I am working on a maintenance project to clean up Category:Pages using infoboxes with thumbnail images. In the future, please do not use thumbnails when adding images to an infobox (see WP:INFOBOXIMAGE). What does this mean? Well in the infobox, when you specify the image you wish to use, instead of doing it like this:

|image=[[File:SomeImage.jpg|thumb|Some image caption]]

Instead just supply the name of the image. So in this case you can simply do:

|image=SomeImage.jpg.

There will then be a separate parameter for the image caption such as |caption=Some image caption. Please note that this is a generic form message I am leaving on your page because you recently added a thumbnail to an infobox. The specific parameters for the image and caption may be different for the infobox you are using! Please consult the Template page for the infobox being used to see better documentation. Thanks!! Proposed deletion of Adil Doğançay edit

The article Adil Doğançay has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Notability has not been established since it was questioned in September 2008. COI per talk page.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.   — Jeff G. ツ (talk) 10:07, 29 June 2017 (UTC)Reply
