You said in the discussion at Talk:Big_Ten_Conference#Which_new_logo_version.3F that the black-blue "B 10" version is the version the Big Ten "says" it is using. Where does the Big Ten "say" this? Yes, the other versions are no loner viewable at here -- but clearly, the initial press release, which links to the new logos page, states that "multiple versions" will be used. On Wikipedia, we have to go with what the sources say. When it comes to that logo, you have to rely on what the Big Ten says their logo is. It doesn't matter that they included the two line logo at one time, we have to go with what the source says now. Once we start speculating on what source meant to say, used to say, or didn't say, Wikipedia is no longer an encyclopedia — it's a rumor mill. In any case, the best place for this discussion is on the Big Ten article's talk page, so let's redirect all of our discussions there in the future. First, thank you for your input, both here and on the article's discussion page. Second, I am well aware that Wikipedia content requires reliable sources, but thank you for reminding me anyway. As for "what the Big Ten says," bear in mind that its website still refers to "multiple versions" of the new logo at bigten.org/newlogo/. Consider, too, that the new logo link itself (bigten.org/genrel/121310aaa.html) is titled "New Big Ten Conference Logos" where only one is listed (this, of course, is coupled with the fact that link still gives a December 13 date despite the fact it has clearly changed since -- where else could the two-line version I uploaded have come from?). Having said all that, its clear the black-blue "B 10" version is preferred among editors, so I'm done pursuing the matter for now. Levdr1 (talk) 23:54, 12 March 2011 (UTC)Reply

I am not sure I would have the time to fulfill all of those roles, but if I can sort of pick and choose, and do what I can, yeah I would be interested. It is just that I am still a student, so my first commitments would still be to my schoolwork. I also work for the campus help desk, so I would likely have to clear doing this with my group's communications staff. My apologies! A campus ambassador is responsible for being available to help guide students in a course which has a Wikipedia assignment integrated into it. You would work alongside the professor (ideally along with a second ambassador as well) to make sure the project runs smoothly. You would be responsible for introducing the students to Wikipedia and guiding them through their first 100 edits to prepare them for the project, and you'd serve as the students' first go-to person if they had troubles using Wikipedia (though they will have a set of 2-3 online ambassadors that can work with them outside of any hours you're available). The estimated time commitment is approximately 4-5 hours per week, varying throughout the semester according to your own case.

Brena, I don't think you'll have a problem with length ;) One thing to keep in mind, however: you'll only have 5 days after making your additions to get nominated. It looks like your made your additions on the 22nd, so you'll still have three more days to get things going. I would also be very careful to review WP:WIADYK, and be very sure to take note of everything after and including step 3. If you want to get a DYK, it's important you meet those criteria. I think you'll well on your way to getting there, and it's pretty cool to get on the main page, so I would say go for it. Once you think it's ready, head over to T:TDYK to post your nomination. It's licensed under WP:CC-BY-SA, so you are free to use it for whatever. The license just says you have to attribute me as the author: "Daniel J Simanek via the Wikipedia Commons" is perfectly adequate, with the text Wikipedia Commons linking back to the pictures description page [1].
