tax shall be charged for each tax year on the income that is derived or deemed to be derived from a source in Botswana by a resident of Botswana .any person who derives income form a source in Botswana is liable to tax.it does not matter weather the person is resident in Botswana or not domiciled in Botswana or not.in 5.12 of the act the liability of certain individuals is explained as follows

taxable income calculation foe each source of income first determine the chargeable income as below the chargeable income/losses from different source are then aggregated subject to the exceptions noted in 5.0 the exceptions do not allow losses
