Speedy deletion nomination of RepairQ edit

Speedy deletion nomination of RepairQ edit

Hello Travish212,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged RepairQ for deletion, because it seems to be inappropriate for a variety of reasons. For more details please see the notice on the article.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions.

Speedy deletion nomination of RepairQ edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on RepairQ requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about an organization or company, but it does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. JarrahTree 15:28, 6 January 2017 (UTC)Reply

January 2017 edit

Please do not add promotional material to Wikipedia, as you did to RepairQ. While objective prose about beliefs, organisations, people, products or services is acceptable, Wikipedia is not intended to be a vehicle for soapboxing, advertising or promotion. Thank you. Draft:RepairQ edit

I've moved your article to Draft:RepairQ where you can work on it. In particular I'd draw your attention to the advice contained in the welcome message on your talk page, especially the links Citing sources and External links. I'll also mark it up for WP:AfC so that you can have it reviewed before having it promoted to the wiki's mainspace. Hopefully this will give you a less bruising experience. Hope that helps, Cabayi (talk) 16:39, 6 January 2017 (UTC)Reply

You should also read "Identifying reliable sources" - the sources you've provided are mostly PR material which lack any independence. Wikipedia is an encyclopedia and we aim to maintain a neutral point of view. Cabayi (talk) 16:45, 6 January 2017 (UTC)Reply

Thank you for the feedback. As you can tell, this is new for me! --Travish212 (talk) 17:01, 6 January 2017 (UTC)Reply

I will continue working on the draft. Any chance you could give me a little feedback on the current draft? --Travish212 (talk) 22:33, 6 January 2017 (UTC)Reply

I've cleared out a load of the promotional sounding language, and restructured the article's lede (the article's supposed to be about RepairQ not Brickwire). The article still relies on PR material. It needs independent, verifiable sources if it's going to stand any chance of showing that the product is notable. Cabayi (talk) 11:50, 7 January 2017 (UTC)Reply

Thank you so much for your help! I will try to find some more/different sources. It's a relatively small company, even with a large footprint in the industry. So I had a tough time finding more articles. I'll keep digging. Thank you again!!! --Travish212 (talk) 13:20, 7 January 2017 (UTC)Reply
