Regarding Tedd Pierce, I located the 1940 census entry on ancestry.com. It's for the Edward S. Pierce that lives in Miami, Dade County Florida, where he works in "moving pictures" (at the time, he was working for the Fleischer Studio). Here's the link, I hope it works.
