Speedy deletion nomination of Conjoint R edit

Hello Tomasz.bartlomowicz,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Conjoint R for deletion, because it seems to be promotional, rather than an encyclopedia article.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions.

Managing a conflict of interest edit

  Hello, Tomasz.bartlomowicz. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about in the page Conjoint R, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a COI may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:

  • avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, company, organization or competitors;
  • propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (see the {{request edit}} template);
  • disclose your COI when discussing affected articles (see WP:DISCLOSE);
  • avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see WP:SPAM);
  • do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.

In addition, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation (see WP:PAID).

Also please note that editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. Drm310 🍁 (talk) 16:18, 7 August 2018 (UTC)Reply

Regarding your message edit

I regret to tell you that your page, Conjoint R was deleted by an administrator for the reason of "G11: Unambiguous advertising or promotion". This applies to pages that are exclusively promotional and would need to be fundamentally rewritten to conform with Wikipedia:NOTFORPROMOTION.

While your page may have been accepted on the Polish Wikipedia, it did not meet the standards required by English Wikipedia. Each language-version of Wikipedia is independent of one another, with its own policies, guidelines and editing culture. An article's acceptance on one Wikipedia does not guarantee its acceptance on another.

Before attempting to write about this topic again on English Wikipedia, here are a few things you should consider:

  1. Wikipedia articles cover notable topics—those that have gained sufficiently significant attention by the world at large and over a period of time, and are not outside the scope of Wikipedia. We consider evidence from reliable and independent sources to gauge this attention. There are specific notability criteria for software.
  2. Your personal involvement with this software puts you in a conflict of interest. Being involved with a topic you write about impairs your ability to write about it from the required neutral point of view. Ideally, the person writing about a topic should have no personal or professional connection to it. They should be a disinterested third party, with no vested interest in how the topic is portrayed.
  3. If you want to attempt to write an article again about this topic, you can ask for the deleted text back at WP:REFUND, and ask that it be restored to the draft article space. Alternatively, you could asking the deleting administrator, RHaworth. Creating a draft article puts it at less risk for deletion, and gives you the chance to have it reviewed by other uninvolved editors. They can either approve it and publish it to the main article space, or send it back to you for revisions.
  4. If you intend to write about this software again, you should make a disclosure of your involvement on your userpage, User:Tomasz.bartlomowicz. Being transparent about your affiliation will help you earn the trust of other editors.

I am sorry your initial efforts did not work out. Good luck on your future endeavours. --Drm310 🍁 (talk) 18:31, 7 August 2018 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of Conjoint R edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Conjoint R, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. XYZt (talk) 20:44, 7 August 2018 (UTC)Reply

That's a very nice piece of documentation you've produced there. Unfortunately, it is not suitable as a Wikipedia article. Based on the deletion comments, experienced editors have looked at your effort and determined that your software package does not meet the the notability criteria for software products and also that it too much resembles a user manual or promotional introduction to the software, thus running afoul of the list of things Wikipedia is NOT. I'm sorry if this is disappointing news. This article cannot be accepted in its current form and no article on Conjoint R can be accepted until some notability is established. — jmcgnh(talk) (contribs) 09:40, 8 August 2018 (UTC)Reply
Hi there Tomasz.bartlomowicz, I was asked to take a look at your draft, also. I lean towards concurring with jmcgnh, but partially because I see too much unsourced content, and it's simply just too verbose to be useful to a casual reader. If you really want to try pushing the notability envelope, I'd pare it down for the more casual reader and work on providing the best quality independent sources for the remaining content. Your draft article, Draft:Conjoint R package edit

Hello, Tomasz.bartlomowicz. It has been over six months since you last edited the Articles for Creation submission or Draft page you started, "Conjoint R package".

In accordance with our policy that Wikipedia is not for the indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace, the draft has been nominated for deletion. If you plan on working on it further, or editing it to address the issues raised if it was declined, simply edit the submission and remove the {{db-afc}}, {{db-draft}}, or {{db-g13}} code.

If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you wish to retrieve it, you can request its undeletion by following the instructions at this link. An administrator will, in most cases, restore the submission so you can continue to work on it.

Thanks for your submission to Wikipedia, and happy editing. JMHamo (talk) 10:32, 15 February 2019 (UTC)Reply
