Leaving Drafts

Please do not leave drafts in the 'reviewing' state as you did to Draft:601st Medical Company (Area Support). It has now been returned to the AfC queue. Leaving drafts in the 'reviewing' state prevents other reviewers from doing a review. Thanks! - RichT|C|E-Mail 23:23, 7 December 2023 (UTC)

Why was WP:NEXIST not considered?

Hi. My draft Draft:İstiklal_Makzume_Anadolu_Lisesi was declined for the second time due to WP:GNG by you. At the same time my deletion nomination for Heritage High School (Brentwood, California) was reverted, citing WP:NEXIST by another editor. Could you help me understand why WP:NEXIST was not considered with the draft? I don't have direct access to the local newspaper archives. They are not digitized and the paper archives are not searchable. But the present references from local and national newspapers, I believe, suggest that such in-depth coverage would exist, especially around 1986 when the school was founded. Gorkem80 (talk) 21:36, 9 December 2023 (UTC)

@Gorkem80, as this was my first experience on AfC, I could say that, the draft may need some more news sources, not just passing mentions, to become notable. As I know little on helping others, I suggest you ask another editor. Toadette (Happy holiday!) 15:18, 15 December 2023 (UTC)

Hello, the source you requested has been changed by two sources. Can you now review this draft Draft:Mustapha Aarab Trabeltomed (talk) 19:57, 24 December 2023 (UTC)

@Trabeltomed, will review. I though this draft would be accepted. Thanks for the feedback. Toadette (Merry Christmas, and a happy new year) 20:06, 24 December 2023 (UTC)
Thank you Trabeltomed (talk) 20:09, 24 December 2023 (UTC)
Can you remove the bars above the article because you have accepted it Trabeltomed (talk) 20:15, 24 December 2023 (UTC)
Wait Trabeltomed, did I unintentionally left the AfC tag on? You can just remove it by removing all templates before the short description and multiple issues templates. It has probably cause after misclicking on the "Random AfC" link in the accepting process window. Toadette (Merry Christmas, and a happy new year) 20:21, 24 December 2023 (UTC)
I think you are more deserving of removing it because you are a recognized reviewer. Thank you. Take a look at it Trabeltomed (talk) 20:24, 24 December 2023 (UTC)
@Trabeltomed   Done, thank you once more, and a Merry Christmas. Toadette (Merry Christmas, and a happy new year) 20:32, 24 December 2023 (UTC)
Hello, I have a question: Why does the article not appear in Google search engines like other articles that have been accepted? I think you just moved it from draft to general and didn't accept it Trabeltomed (talk) 23:12, 24 December 2023 (UTC)
@Trabeltomed, in general, new article are not indexed by search engines immediately until it is reviewed by a new page reviewer. Or else after 90 days elapsed.
You can also make articles appear on search engines immediately if you have the WP:Autopatrolled right, and you must create articles directly in mainspace. Toadette (Merry Christmas, and a happy new year) 05:31, 25 December 2023 (UTC)

Hermann Paul Max (Paul) Haase

Hello, ToadetteEdit,

I see you accepted this article. Did you look into the sources carefully? I sincerely doubt that this is the name of the article subject and it makes for an incredibly unusual article page title. Thank you. Liz Read! Talk! 21:33, 24 December 2023 (UTC)

Also, did you carefully review Mustapha Aarab? I can't find verification for much of the content here. It's unusual for someone of his age to notable enough for a Wikipedia article unless they have had a role in some big films. Liz Read! Talk! 21:43, 24 December 2023 (UTC)
Liz, after reviewing WP:NACTOR, I was apparently confused on notability, especially where he was subject to a source and profiles. But the profiles themselves don't give much detail. Toadette (Merry Christmas, and a happy new year) 21:57, 24 December 2023 (UTC)
As of this, It is dubious that there are three Dutch sources that were archived. Reviewed WP:NMUSICIAN and found notability dubious. Toadette (Merry Christmas, and a happy new year) 21:59, 24 December 2023 (UTC)

Draft:Kourage Beatz NSI (Nigerian producer)

Please can you look into a Draft:Kourage Beatz NSI (Nigerian producer) draft I'm working on and let me know if the article is notable for mainspace, if not what citations to remove and what needs to be edited. Thank you. 1slodan (talk) 12:30, 28 December 2023 (UTC)

@1slodan, I've conducted an analysis of sources and found that the subject fairly passes criterion 8 of WP:NMUSICBIO; however, the sourcing is questionable, especially from Apple Music, which should be avoided. Try your best adding reliable sources that are independent of the subject. Toadette (Merry Christmas, and a happy new year) 12:44, 28 December 2023 (UTC)
@ToadetteEdit Can source from Spotify be used or any other music dsp. 1slodan (talk) 12:51, 28 December 2023 (UTC)
@1slodan, generally sources from music DSPs should not be used as sources. Toadette (Merry Christmas, and a happy new year) 12:57, 28 December 2023 (UTC)
@ToadetteEdit Can it be used as secondary sources for music albums? 1slodan (talk) 13:04, 28 December 2023 (UTC)
@1slodan, no but the links can be added to the "external links" section. Toadette (Merry Christmas, and a happy new year) 13:20, 28 December 2023 (UTC)
@ToadetteEdit Okay, thank you. Please check Draft:Kourage Beatz NSI (Nigerian producer), I have removed sources from Apple music and added another source. 1slodan (talk) 13:41, 28 December 2023 (UTC)
@1slodan, you can submit the draft for review, but it would most likely be declined citing notability issues. Toadette (Merry Christmas, and a happy new year) 13:48, 28 December 2023 (UTC)
@ToadetteEdit I have submitted the article (Draft:Kourage Beatz NSI (Nigerian producer)) for review 1slodan (talk) 14:08, 28 December 2023 (UTC)
@ToadetteEdit please check now if it's notable. 1slodan (talk) 14:47, 28 December 2023 (UTC)
@1slodan, for me, it is unclear if the draft would go to WP:AFD it it was accepted or not, but I am lazy to review AfC drafts for now. If it isn't responded to, I'll review it. Toadette (Merry Christmas, and a happy new year) 14:58, 28 December 2023 (UTC)
@ToadetteEdit I have edited the as it should. Please can review it. Thank you 1slodan (talk) 17:54, 28 December 2023 (UTC)
@1slodan, I've seen that this draft was declined twice citing the questionable sourcing. I will start reviewing it. I recommended adding the draft to your watchlist, you can learn more here. Toadette (Merry Christmas, and a happy new year) 18:32, 28 December 2023 (UTC)
The review is over and it was declined; you can see the results on your talk page. In the meanwhile, I suggest finding potentially notable musicians to write about. Toadette (Merry Christmas, and a happy new year) 18:52, 28 December 2023 (UTC)
@ToadetteEdit Okay, thank you for your suggestion, but Please can you elaborate more on why the article wasn't approved and what to do to improve the article so that on my next article it won't have the same issue. 1slodan (talk) 19:03, 28 December 2023 (UTC)
@ToadetteEdit Please can you review Draft:Kourage Beatz NSI (Nigerian producer) was again, not editor has reviewed it for hours now. I removed the source that failed to pass GNG. Why I'm still on this article is because I need understand everything and why it's wasn't approved those times. 1slodan (talk) 19:59, 29 December 2023 (UTC)

could it be cause it needs more review or the the main has some violated? Samchristie05 (talk) 22:55, 29 December 2023 (UTC)

Your AFC acceptance of James Peter

Hi,

You accepted James Peter through AFC, but the article had significant copyright violations. The university career section was closely paraphrased from this source which was in the article as a source. It is essential for AFC reviewers to check for copyright violations. It is one of the quick fails. Please ensure you do this for any future reviews. Whpq (talk) 02:42, 2 January 2024 (UTC)

Hi Whpq, I often check copyvios during my reviews but I forgot it do that, especially when reviewing pages "on the fly". I will indeed ensure to check every draft for copyvios, aside from other problematic content. Thank you for raising this concern. Toadette (Merry Christmas, and a happy new year) 13:27, 2 January 2024 (UTC)
I'm not sure what you mean by "on the fly". If you are in a situation where you cannot give an AFC review proper attention, it would be best to leave it until you can deal with it properly. -- Whpq (talk) 15:19, 2 January 2024 (UTC)
@Whpq, OK. and BTW, the term I refer to "on the fly" meant "quick review". Toadette (Merry Christmas, and a happy new year) 15:56, 2 January 2024 (UTC)

Hi I am Colin Hancock Guinness World Record Holder The Longest Surviving Triple Heart Bypass Patient. Operation 1977 aged 31 now 77 so 46 years and counting. I did put my story on here didn’t allocate a subject but looking at options MEDICAL. I hadn’t joined at that point but I now have a user name and password. It was rejected very quickly by Curb Safe Charmer! I have plenty of proof my Guinness World Record Certificate, my Doctors note confirming my operation. Over 300 pages of operation notes from St George’s Hospital, Hyde Park Corner, London. Would be possible for you to pick up what draft I sent in that was rejected I have retained a copy if not.You can also find a comprehensive story on the Guinness World Record Website too. Maybe this isn’t what Wikipedia would bother publishing if so could you let me know? Also if you find my rejected entry tell me what else I need to do if you feel I can proceed? --ColinHanco (talk) 14:27, 2 January 2024 (UTC)

@ColinHanco, please do not write the article about yourself, as this constitute conflict of interest editing. Toadette (Merry Christmas, and a happy new year) 14:33, 2 January 2024 (UTC)
Can I get someone like my Son in Law, Brother in Law? ColinHanco (talk) 14:50, 2 January 2024 (UTC)
No, I just deleted Draft:Colin Hancock, which you created as an IP, per WP:G11 (excessively promotional). I suggest you find another website to write about yourself.--Bbb23 (talk) 15:03, 2 January 2024 (UTC)
@ColinHanco, you can do so, however, the article should be submitted through WP:AfC due to COI editing. They must also declare this in their userpage. Also your account must not be shared so they should create accounts themselves. Toadette (Merry Christmas, and a happy new year) 15:05, 2 January 2024 (UTC)
ToadetteEdit, that makes no sense. There's no difference between the article being written by Colin or by one of his relatives. The same conflict exists. In other words, if a relative can write it as long as they declare their conflict, so can Colin.--Bbb23 (talk) 15:18, 2 January 2024 (UTC)
So where do I stand or fall,to reach this age and still be very active.Thought my achievement by merely still being alive after such a time might give others facing a triple bypass some concrete hope.
And Bbb23 it is promotional so what, it is hell of an achievement. Can you match it or anything like it? ColinHanco (talk) 15:39, 2 January 2024 (UTC)
Bbb23, shouldn't this account be blocked? Toadette (Merry Christmas, and a happy new year) 15:59, 2 January 2024 (UTC)
What for?--Bbb23 (talk) 16:10, 2 January 2024 (UTC)
@Bbb23, for coming to Wikipedia only to promote themselves. Looking at their live contribution, all are from here. You mentioned earlier about the draft by the IP, suggesting that it is the same person. Toadette (Merry Christmas, and a happy new year) 16:15, 2 January 2024 (UTC)
He pretty much told us that he created the draft as an IP, and the IP's edits all occurred before he registered an account, so there's no problem there. Obviously, he's interested in promoting himself, but, thus far, he's only created one promotional draft. If he persists, as a registered editor, or as an IP, particularly if he doesn't declare his WP:COI, then a block might be warranted, but it's premature to do so now.--Bbb23 (talk) 16:20, 2 January 2024 (UTC)
What is a WP COI? ColinHanco (talk) 16:24, 2 January 2024 (UTC)
It's been mentioned twice already, once by Toadette and then by me. If you click on it, you can read about it. In your case, you have a conflict because one presumes that you cannot be netural or objective when writing an article about yourself.--Bbb23 (talk) 16:31, 2 January 2024 (UTC)
@ColinHanco, as stated in WP:Conflict of interest, Conflict of interest (COI) editing involves contributing to Wikipedia about yourself, family, friends, clients, employers, or your financial and other relationships. It is basically as if writing about one in close relationship with you, let it say, your business. Toadette (Merry Christmas, and a happy new year) 16:33, 2 January 2024 (UTC)
Ok never mind I give up, obviously my achievement doesn’t merit an entry on Wikipedia ColinHanco (talk) 16:38, 2 January 2024 (UTC)

Notice.

Good day, The draft article you accepted Draft:Johnel has been moved back to draft space and nominated for deletion. Adambenji (talk) 07:00, 3 January 2024 (UTC)

@Adambenji, can you elaborate that further? Who did that? (use {{u|someone}} to ping one to the discussion.) Did the draft actually was moved to draft (WP:DRAFTIFY) or nominated for deletion (WP:AFD)? It appears that the backlog drive has led to many discussions on my talk. Toadette (Merry Christmas, and a happy new year) 07:12, 3 January 2024 (UTC)

It was moved by TimothyBlue. The draft was nominated as a Miscellany for deletion after WP:DRAFTIFY. See the discussion here. I also added more sources to the draft Adambenji (talk) 07:36, 3 January 2024 (UTC)

So it is unclear whether the sources doesn't pass GNG. Can the reviewer explain this further? Toadette (Merry Christmas, and a happy new year) 14:24, 3 January 2024 (UTC)
I don't even understand the whole situation. Two previous reviewers stated that the draft almost passes GNG. Now I've added 3 more sources. Do you think it now pass GNG? Adambenji (talk) 11:22, 4 January 2024 (UTC)

You can go to Help:Editing to find out more, or consider going to Wikipedia's introduction on editing. Hope that helps. Toadette (Merry Christmas, and a happy new year) 12:43, 7 January 2024 (UTC)

Category:Tribes of Lebanon

Hello, ToadetteEdit,

Just FYI, if you look at the CSD tag you placed on this category page, you would see that you can't use CSD C1 tagging on a category that is part of a CFD discussion, even if that discussion is closed. If the discussion is closed, so there are other ways of signaling this because most likely, the reason for a delection is not because the category is empty but because of a CFD decision.

But CSD C1 tags can't be used on category redirects, category disambiguation pages or categories being discussed at CFD. Thank you. Liz Read! Talk! 16:20, 7 January 2024 (UTC)

Understood. Thanks for the advice anyways @Liz:. Toadette (Merry Christmas, and a happy new year) 22:30, 7 January 2024 (UTC)

CFD closures

Hey Toadette, I noticed you closed several CfD discussions of December 30th but you haven't implemented them yet. For implementation please read the admin instructions carefully. If you are unsure on how to implement a closure, you can better revert your closure. Thanks! Marcocapelle (talk) 20:42, 7 January 2024 (UTC)

@Marcocapelle, thank you for the message. I'll leave a feedback on XFDcloser about the rename/merges. It appears that it doesn't automatically nominate such categories to WP:CFDS, nor it tag them with appropriate templates. Toadette (Merry Christmas, and a happy new year) 22:33, 7 January 2024 (UTC)
Please don't be discouraged by this - CfD desparately needs more closers (for the last few weeks one person has closed almost all discussions). In practice the easiest way to do non-admin closures properly is User:Qwerfjkl/scripts/CFDlister. * Pppery * it has begun... 04:48, 8 January 2024 (UTC)
  • Speaking of which, I should probably update that script. I'll do so sometime later today, after I've had a chance to test it. — Qwerfjkltalk 10:09, 8 January 2024 (UTC)
@Pppery; thanks for the advice, will try it out soon. Toadette (Merry Christmas, and a happy new year) 15:16, 8 January 2024 (UTC)
@Marcocapelle; have read the instructions, but I am very unsure of how to carryout the merges/redirects? Often those would be placed at WP:CFDW, a fully protected page? Toadette (Merry Christmas, and a happy new year) 15:21, 8 January 2024 (UTC)

How do you suppress XfDClosure from CfD while the mentioned script is in place? Toadette (Merry Christmas, and a happy new year) 15:23, 8 January 2024 (UTC)

The script can be used alongside XFDCloser. It does not close discussions, it's just for listing them for an admin to process after you've closed them.
To use it to list an individual discussion, click the list discussion button and save it (modifying it as appropriate). To then add these discussion to WT:CFDW, there should be a link under "Tools" in one of the dropdown menus, "List discussions". — Qwerfjkltalk 16:24, 8 January 2024 (UTC)
@Qwerfjkl, thanks for giving out the details. Toadette (Merry Christmas, and a happy new year) 20:07, 8 January 2024 (UTC)

how do i cite? --JessandJake0903 (talk) 22:21, 18 February 2024 (UTC)

@JessandJake0903, sorry for the late answer, you cite stuff using ref tags and, although not necessary, citation templates. If you use VisualEditor, you will find a button like a quote sign. Toadette (Let's discuss together!) 17:21, 25 February 2024 (UTC)

Thank You!

Toadette, I just wanted to thank you for moving the page Joseph W. Post House to the article space. Greg Henderson (talk) 16:31, 25 February 2024 (UTC)

This was done by AfC. I found this draft while reading the ANI, and fortunately, the copyvio chance is low. Toadette (Let's discuss together!) 17:21, 25 February 2024 (UTC)

Signature contrast

Hello! I noticed your signature has insufficient contrast for accessibility considerations. Would you be willing to up the contrast? this contrast checker allows you to find colours: I've prefilled the colour Wikipedia uses for black. —Femke 🐦 (talk) 18:35, 25 February 2024 (UTC)

Hi @Femke. I've changed the signature to match the colour used before I changed it before Thanksgiving. I was intended to change my signature back to that original colour after a long wikibreak, but I didn't remembered the hex and so added <span style="color:pink;"> to the code. I'll also change the sig which I used after voting an AfD a while ago. Toadette (Let's discuss together!) 18:44, 25 February 2024 (UTC)
Thanks :) —Femke 🐦 (talk) 21:06, 25 February 2024 (UTC)

Not sure what happened here? I created the redirect and then you tagged it with the WPAFC banner. — Qwerfjkltalk 21:04, 26 February 2024 (UTC)

I think there was a request at WP:AFC/R. Since the script also tags talk pages, it appeared an error message stating that the "page" exists, while the script automatically tagged the associated talk page, at the same time. I should have closed it manually, as it hadn't been closed upon viewing and "accepting" it. But IMO, all redirects created via the AfC project should be tagged on their talk pages. Zehra Bajraktarević AfD closure

Hi there. Thanks for closing Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Zehra Bajraktarević (2nd nomination), but I'm unsure how you came to the conclusion that there was no consensus. Could you explain your reasoning, please? Cordless Larry (talk) 07:55, 27 February 2024 (UTC)

Hi Cordless Larry! Yes, I have closed the discussion since the consensus is still unbalanced despite multiple relists. I try to avoid doing too much relisting. Toadette (Let's discuss together!) 21:09, 27 February 2024 (UTC)
(talk page stalker) I assume Cordless Lary is referring to how there is only 1 keep !vote, which would warrant more explanation for a no consensus close. — Qwerfjkltalk 21:12, 27 February 2024 (UTC)
Oops, looks like I got wrong in here. Somebody should revert my close and leave it for another admin to reconsider the nomination. Toadette (Let's discuss together!) 21:33, 27 February 2024 (UTC)
Thanks. I think it might be best for you to perform the necessary reverts, if you're OK with doing that? Cordless Larry (talk) 21:48, 27 February 2024 (UTC)
I've re-opened the discussion. ToadetteEdit, please take this as a reminder that "close calls and controversial decisions are best left to admins". I would encourage you to leave AfD closures to more experienced editors. Extraordinary Writ (talk) 02:29, 29 February 2024 (UTC)
I understood. It feels that I am discouraged to close those XfDs, Extraordinary Writ. I will stop closing these until months have elapsed. FYI, I wanted to close the XfDs in order to act like a "young admin"; noting to reduce the admin backlog which ordinary editors can however close them, if appropriate. Double Re-listing

Hi ToadetteEdit. Please don't double-relist discussions like you did here; it's not helpful. If a listing hasn't received new comments for 2 weeks, then that's a good indicator it has reached a natural end and should be closed accordingly. -Fastily 02:29, 28 February 2024 (UTC)

@Fastily:, you see that there aren't any comments in that FfD? I am somewhat new to the venue, and noting that all venues have similar closing instructions. Toadette (Let's discuss together!) 09:30, 3 March 2024 (UTC)

Adidas Top Ten

Hello, ToadetteEdit,

When you tag pages for this kind of speedy deletion, please use Twinkle and select CSD>G6 Move and put the name of the article to be moved in the field available. Then there is a live link so that patrolling admin can look at the article to be moved to see if the main space redirect should be deleted. Feel free to retag it appropriately. Thanks. Liz Read! Talk! 08:09, 2 March 2024 (UTC)

@Liz:, don't be mistaken here. I actually used Twinkle then G6>AfC move. I inserted the name of the draft presuming that the CSD will automatically add the Draft: prefix. Thanks for the information by the way! Toadette (Let's discuss together!) 09:30, 3 March 2024 (UTC)
