Welcome to Wikipedia. Everyone is welcome to contribute to the encyclopedia, but when you add or change content, as you did to the article Demi Moore, please cite a reliable source for the content of your edit. This is particularly important when adding or changing any facts or figures and helps maintain our policy of verifiability. Take a look at Wikipedia:Citing sources for information about how to cite sources and the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. 5 Albert Square, I don't see what I did wrong, and what I did certainly wasn't vandalism! I changed the name to the full-length name as I have seen in many places and added a reference! What's up? Tiwi1890 (talk) 22:50, 9 April 2010 (UTC)Reply

I didn't see it as vandalism but when we write about living people, it is important to use extremely good sources. We don't regard the bio pages on IMDB as reliable, because they are contributed by users, just like Wikipedia. I have had a quick look round, but even the New York Times biography quotes Allmovies, and that is the problem- what is the original and most reliable source, because once one website has it, others will just copy? The most reliable source might be what Moore herself has said about this, although I haven't found a source for that. Over to you, then. Rodhullandemu 23:03, 9 April 2010 (UTC)Reply

Demi has said it, that's how I knew, I had a magazine stating it, but as I no longer have it I just looked for another source, but now understand the one I used wasn't appropriate. But I found another one! There's a book on Google Scholar "Arnold Schwarzenegger: a biography" By Louise Krasniewicz, Michael Blitz (page xiv, the introduction) that also states it if that's a more reliable source. I'm not gonna bother changing it though, I don't want vandalism written all over my talk page, so I'll leave it!! But I'm just curious - I edited one word in a sentence that has no reference whatsoever and I'm accused of vandalism, but whoever stated her birthplace, without referencing, does not? Oh and it was 5 Albert Square who referred to it as vandalism. Tiwi1890 (talk) 23:14, 9 April 2010 (UTC)Reply

I apologise for my colleague's somewhat sharp message; you could not be expected to know the history of this on the Talk page, or to know how reliable sources are assessed here. As for Arnie's biography, it's difficult to know how that can be reliable source for Demi Moore, and also without looking at the style of that book and credentials of the author, to know how far we can trust it. If you don't feel like pursuing this, we have plenty of other articles that could do with some intelligent editing. Cheers. Rodhullandemu 23:24, 9 April 2010 (UTC)Reply

I think I'll quit editing, I'll leave it to others! Thanks for your comments :) Tiwi1890 (talk) 23:27, 9 April 2010 (UTC)Reply

My apologies Tiwi1890, if my message sounded BITEy. I didn't think to check your user history to see how new you were. I hope you don't quit Wikipedia. - JuneGloom07 Talk? 23:32, 9 April 2010 (UTC)Reply
