Sources for Parramatta Eagles edit

Hello, good work on Parramatta Eagles, and thanks for the contribution. However, you did not provide any references or sources in the article. Keeping Wikipedia accurate and verifiable is very important, and as you might be aware there is currently a push to encourage editors to cite the sources they used when adding content. From what websites, books, or other places did you learn the information that you added to Parramatta Eagles? Would it be possible for you to mention them in the article? You can simply add links, or see WP:CITET if you wish to review some of the different citation methods. Thanks!  BRIAN0918  03:54, 5 December 2005 (UTC)Reply

TC-A? edit

forces commander replaces training commander and land commander - You wouldn't have a reference for that, would you? (I haven't been able to find one yet - I knew about LCAUST, but not about TC-A.) Cheers, Pdfpdf (talk) 07:21, 7 April 2011 (UTC)Reply

Forces Command was created by merging Land Command and Training Command-Army (while taking 1 Div out) and hence Commander of both merged into the new role. Link in relation to formation of Forces Command is here: http://www.army.gov.au/docs/ca_speech-forcomd-01_jul_09_v3.pdf

1 July 2009! Hmmm. I missed that one. Thanks.
While taking 1 Div out - Out of what? Commander of both - Both which?
Including data from your reference, here's how I interpret what cold have happened. (I guess B & C are much the same).
Do you know if the "?" was an existing position (if so, which), or is HMSP-A the replacement for the CTC-A hole.
If "?" is NOT CTC-A or (new), why would army willingly give up a 2 star position?
Cheers, Pdfpdf (talk) 03:43, 8 April 2011 (UTC)Reply

Formerly 1 Div (double hatted as DJFHQ) fitted under Land Command (both 2 star positions but such is life!)). It now sits directly under Army HQ.

I have no idea who Head of Modernisation and Strategic Panning-Army is or where this sits. I suspect this role is entirely seperate to these two commands. Head of TC-A was a Commander and commanded all the Training units (ie. RMC, Kapooka, ALTC, CATC etc.) this role you are talking about sounds more like a planner/doctrine role. Did this position exist previously? I don't know!

As to why they changed this. My understanding is it was to reduce number of people/resources in HQ positions (by merging Forces and Land Command) and give Army HQ more direct control over the units in 1 Div (by eradicating Land Command layer).

Wellington GAA has been proded edit

Hi TinTin - the Wellington GAA article has been proded. I have suggested to the proder that it be merged with the Auckland GAA article into a single article called maybe New Zealand GAA. I am not familier with the sport and note that you have made changes to several articles on the subject. Would you take a look and see what might be reasonable. Both articles lack significant references and are below the notability standard. NealeFamily (talk) 03:39, 10 October 2014 (UTC)Reply

Hi Neale there is no such thing as the New Zealand GAA or the Australian GAA for that matter, all Australian state and NZ City based organisations are members of the Australsian GAA. I suppose something like GAA in NZ or Gaelic Games in NZ could work? --TinTin (talk) 03:47, 10 October 2014 (UTC)Reply

Thanks Tintin - I must confess my ignorance of Gaelic sports, and therefore I don't feel qualified enough to write on the topic. I just thought there must be a reasonable level of notability in the topic itsself to make retaining the information contained in the articles worthwhile, even if the local clubs are not notable. Check the link and put your name down if you are interested! -- Chuq (talk) 04:52, 7 December 2014 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of Olympic FC (disambiguation) edit

A tag has been placed on Olympic FC (disambiguation) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G6 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an orphaned disambiguation page which either

  • disambiguates two or fewer extant Wikipedia pages and whose title ends in "(disambiguation)" (i.e., there is a primary topic); or
  • disambiguates no (zero) extant Wikipedia pages, regardless of its title.

Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such pages may be deleted at any time. Please see the disambiguation page guidelines for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines.
