I Have Something to do Now

The TTYD remake was a surprise. Although I had no interest in the game prior this one looks like a lot of fun!

Thank you for your edit to the list, and maintaining the articles. I've done some work on them as well. I'd like your input, though. When I came to the Paper Mario article I found the remake under its own header under "main series". I've merged it with the TTYD one for now. Do you think it should have a separate header? Linking my revert. Yes, this is original research. The passage on Xenoblade Chronicles is the only part you provided any sources on, and nothing else has any. Even so, the article isn't meant to be an indiscriminate list of all silent protagonist examples. No one cares. But what I wanted to say is that Nintendo franchises almost always use the trope (Pit talking in Uprising being an exception to an almost universal rule for Nintendo), while Final Fantasy for instance rarely does aside from the MMOs. 37.179.85.136 (talk) 21:20, 17 October 2023 (UTC)

And, the example of Live A Live I had also mentioned is because Live A Live is a chapter-based game that uses silent protagonists in very creative ways: Pogo and Cube don't speak because they literally can't (Pogo's story is entirely told without dialogue, Cube is literally mute) while Oersted is silent in his chapter until the end where him starting to speak marks his downfall and turn into the villain Odio 37.179.85.136 (talk) 21:23, 17 October 2023 (UTC)

Again, what you're describing to me is original research. I don't care about what happens in Live A Live. The point is that you still haven't provided any reliable sources that establish notability of Live A Live in the context of silent protagonists. Regarding Nintendo franchises, find a reliable source that covers most Nintendo characters being silent; don't try to list off every example you can think of. I would like to know why you believe that lists with downloads to FOSS software that can be run on anyone's Wii and has publicly available source code for anyone to audit are "unreliable sources." Surveypartychef (talk) 17:20, 2 March 2024 (UTC)

Those links include downloads to all software mentioned. Additionally, the NetBSD sources are all from the NetBSD project's official website. What would you suggest I do to corroborate my statements in a way that you would find acceptable? I'm willing to provide "proper" citations if you can give me some examples, as the homebrew section is severely lacking in relevant content and I have been long involved in this area. You need reliable third-party sources that cover this material. In the previous paragraph of that section, some sources are EnGadget and PC World. Other sources would probably be IGN, GameSpot, etc. Wikipedia:WikiProject Video games/Sources has a comprehensive list of what we consider reliable and not. Not only does it establish verifability, it establishes notability-- in general if many sources find it interesting to report on, then it's worth covering in the article. Another part to consider to that the article is meant for general audiences. Links to where to download software makes an assumption that people reading the article are interested in doing homebrew, which is not correct.
