Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia!

I hope not to seem unfriendly or make you feel unwelcome, but I noticed your username, and I am concerned that it might not meet Wikipedia's username policy for the following reason: sounds like it could be the name of a company, or indication that your account may be used for promotion.. After you look over that policy, could we discuss that concern here?

I'd appreciate learning your own views, for instance your reasons for wanting this particular name, and what alternative username you might accept that avoids raising this concern.

You have several options freely available to you:

Thank you.

To be honest, I really see no contributions that show that this account is promoting Thinkservices, or anything of that nature. Thoughts? Tiptoety talk 18:25, 13 August 2008 (UTC)Reply
With respect, I think this block was unwise and needs to be overturned, at least until there's a rename. The deleted article from this user did not contain the word "Thinkservices" or anything related to it. There is no evidence that this term relates to a company, so I think this block was rather hasty. PeterSymonds (talk) 18:35, 13 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

Notability of Sean Kauppinen edit

The article Sean Kauppinen has been speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This was done because the article seemed to be about a real person, organization (band, club, company, etc.), or web content, but it did not indicate how or why the subject is notable, that is, why an article about that subject should be included in Wikipedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the notability of the subject may be deleted at any time. If you can indicate why the subject is really notable, you are free to re-create the article, making sure to cite any verifiable sources.

Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, and for specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for musicians, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. - CobaltBlueTony™ talk 18:10, 13 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

Before recreating this article again, please review the requirements at WP:CSD#A7 and Wikipedia's notability criteria for biographies. Neither of the versions you have submitted have met the notability criteria, and with no assertions resembling those -- sourced or not -- it meets Wikipedia's speedy deletion criteria. Also, you really should have more than one reference (Gamasutra), as multiple independent non-trivial sources are always much preferred.
On another note, I apologize for coming off too bitey. Feel free to slap me with a trout, if you like. I won't complain. Cheers and happy editing! - CobaltBlueTony™ talk 18:53, 13 August 2008 (UTC)Reply
