Speedy Delete Request

Please tell me what the difference between the logo of UWG you added and the one I added is. Why is mine a candidate for speedy deletion while yours is not?Werecowmoo (talk) 18:40, 25 November 2007 (UTC)

Mine is better quality. At the time the only place your was in use was on your user space which is not allowed because the image is not free. Randomly adding the image to articles isn't going to cut it either.--Jerm (^Talk/ _Contrib) 19:08, 25 November 2007 (UTC)

It was not added to a "random article." It was added to The Advanced Academy of Georgia page which is an integral part of UWG.

Andy Azula prod

Forgot all about this guy. For a sec I thought this was going to be some horse jockey bio article I'd created through WP:MWA (they're all jockeys for some darnfurned reason) and I was going to say have at it. But for for Mr. Azula: WP:N, multiple unrelated sources, at least one pre-dating his commercial appearances, etc. I'll sit on it a few days till I come up with something witty to remove the prod with. Images

Unless you've received similar messages from me at other accounts you use (for which I offer my apologies) I don't see how my single Template:Di-no source-notice notice comes off as "spam". The notice was intended as a good-faith reminder to double-check your work to insure strict avoidance of a copyright violation. I see some of your uploaded images do not have source information as required at WP:CITE#Images when claiming fair-use. Also, a few of the pictures should be re-uploaded with smaller versions (lower resolutions) per the size guidelines at WP:NFC#Policy. Re: Recategorizing

Edits to Savannah State University

The information you cited on Wikipedia:WikiProject Universities#Structure and Wikipedia:Non-free content#Policy 2 do not address the use of the {{Infobox college athletics}} template along with {{Infobox University}}. While some minor items overlap in the two templates it is clear that the information would not be considered "duplicate" by a reader. Besides WikiProjects are designed as a discussion forum, but do not establish policy. I am restoring the template. Please cease from removing it (see the 3 revert rule if you are confused) until you find the appropriate Wikipedia policy statement or have an neutral authority to adjudicate. Absolon S. There are so many inconsistencies with these university pages. I am looking at other University pages and basing their lay out on my adjustments. Georgia Tech, Emory, Georgia State and so on. athletic logo

yes, athletic logo or corporate image or emblem..not athletic logo only. Many college sites have athletic logos in the appropriate athletic section. a more recognizable school logo for marketing purposes is used in the secondary logo section in the infobox. a bias towards athletics can make an article imbalanced. I know they are not so why are you trying so hard to market athletics? The point is to have a balanced article. Any secondary logo is used for marketing and/or recognition as far as the school is concerned. Since wiki has asked for an optional secondary logo in the infobox, you have the option of adding a logo. Please do not become rude. I never said wiki college articles were for marketing purposes. the secondary logo that many schools have is used as a more recognizable emblem rather than the seal. so they may use it for marketing or recognition reasons. one of the points of using logos is in wiki college articles is to further identify the subject at hand. Bentley Rare Book Gallery

Hey, thanks for linking The Bentley Rare Book Gallery page to the KSU main page, and adding it to the KSU navbox. I was going to ask you about combining the two once the Bentley page had undergone a bit more editing. I hope you don't mind that I took it upon myself to add the KSU navbox...and I stole a couple of other tricks from the KSU edit page.

I wrote the overboard comment because of your edit summary, this: "the advior is not need... removed one unsourced statement that is almost certain untrue" just didn't sit well with me. IMHO the adviser to a college newspaper is relevant especially when he is an established journalist. The removing unsourced statement part wasn't correct either as the source I provided shows he is the adviser. Oh, ok. I went ahead and removed the first in the nation part of the sentence, I agree that statement is dubious and I don't think we will ever find a source for it. What specifically do you believe is NPOV. Some other editor recently added the tag and a number of outside editors looked at it and didn't find POV. The article has not really changed since then. KnightLago (talk)

If you only added the tag because there is dispute over the contents, and not genuine concern over real NPOV problems, and this article is NPOV at the moment, then the tag has been incorrectly placed and you should remove it. KnightLago (talk) 02:06, 12 March 2008 (UTC)
