Welcome! edit

Hello, Theinfinite314, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions.

I noticed that one of the first articles you edited appears to be dealing with a topic with which you may have a conflict of interest. In other words, you may find it difficult to write about that topic in a neutral and objective way, because you are, work for, or represent, the subject of that article. Your recent contributions may have already been undone for this very reason.

To reduce the chances of your contributions being undone, you might like to draft your revised article before submission, and then ask me or another editor to proofread it. See our help page on userspace drafts for more details. If the page you created has already been deleted from Wikipedia, but you want to save the content from it to use for that draft, don't hesitate to ask anyone from this list and they will copy it to your user page.

One rule we do have in connection with conflicts of interest is that accounts used by more than one person will unfortunately be blocked from editing. Wikipedia generally does not allow editors to have usernames which imply that the account belongs to a company or corporation. If you have a username like this, you should request a change of username or create a new account. (A name that identifies the user as an individual within a given organization may be OK.)

In addition, if you receive, or expect to receive, compensation for any contribution you make, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation to comply with our terms of use and our policy on paid editing.

Here are some pages that you might find helpful:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your messages on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically insert your username and the date. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or ask your question on this page and then place {{Help me}} before the question. Again, welcome! --- Possibly 20:33, 3 September 2021 (UTC)Reply

Help requests edit

Greetings Possibly.

Thank you for the helpful links, I'm grateful you reached out.

I failed to indicate close association on the talk page and will do so in the future, if I am allowed to contribute to the page. I was not paid in any way. I do believe I have met the exception requirements as described in this paragraph: "A few rare exceptions can be made to this rule: making totally uncontroversial updates like removing typos, correcting or updating simple data (with a source if possible), and removing blatant vandalism is fine; for anything else, seek input." Perhaps I misunderstand what is meant by data? I thought that included noteworthy events.

If in the future I see inaccuracies, vandalism, or there are updates worthy of inclusion can I send them to you for consideration? And if so how do I do that? The page has been vandalized several times, for example see from Dec 23, 2016 to Jan 1, 2017.

I have never had the opportunity to work with an editor on Wiki before. For example, I have more academic and primary citations relating to this band, what do I do with them if I can't add them? Also, the singer has a book being published this year: https://www.simonandschuster.com/authors/Tamra-Lucid/185340775

On a more specific note, regarding the band member section being unsupported by citations there appears to be no other complete list of band members online. There is an incomplete list here: https://www.allmusic.com/artist/lucid-nation-mn0000890291 Should the member list be edited down to those names? Other band member names can be found on YouTube videos, Bandcamp, etc. but those are not acceptable references, are they?

Thank you for your time, Your help is sincerely appreciated. As a personal aside I am deeply impressed by the work you've done rescuing female artists.Theinfinite314 (talk) 22:50, 3 September 2021 (UTC)Reply

Hi, please see most recent major edit of page by COIRobotuser. The definition of a band as strictly music is not always correct. The comments seem hostile. Thank you.Theinfinite314 (talk) 23:18, 3 September 2021 (UTC)Reply

Possibly, please take note of COIRobotuser's comment on the Lucid Nation talk page. The band has no website. Very problematic assumptions in the edits and comments made by this editor. Could this be another wave of vandalism? Thank you for your time.Theinfinite314 (talk) 00:55, 4 September 2021 (UTC)Reply

Questions about the content and to discuss disputes about edits to Lucid Nation belong on Talk:Lucid Nation.
If you have a connection with the band, it would be best to disclose that both on your user page and along with any edit requests that you make on Talk:Lucid Nation. Adding a "noteworthy event" is not simple data in the sense meant in allowing small corrective edits by COI edits. — jmcgnh(talk) (contribs) 01:00, 4 September 2021 (UTC)Reply

Thank you, I appreciate the explanation and I will do what you suggest.Theinfinite314 (talk) 20:08, 4 September 2021 (UTC)Reply

Conflict of Interest edit

Hi @Theinfinite314: A conflict of interest case has been opened at the COIN noticeboard, specifically at Wikipedia:Conflict of interest/Noticeboard#Lucid Nation article COI regarding yourself. It would be worth attending to it. Thanks. scope_creepTalk 11:18, 4 September 2021 (UTC)Reply

Thank you I will post a response. I appreciate the opportunity to do so.Theinfinite314 (talk) 18:33, 4 September 2021 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for finally declaring your COI. Please use the Lucid Nation talk page for edit requests; do not edit the article directly. --- Possibly 20:39, 4 September 2021 (UTC)Reply

I will absolutely do that. Thank you.Theinfinite314 (talk) 20:06, 4 September 2021 (UTC)Reply
