Your recent edit to South Gare

You made a recent edit to the South Gare page and removed a reference to a document that is no longer available on the web. The citation of a document is still a citation regardless of whether the web link to it works or not. If you want to read this document then you can contact me and I can provide it. In fact I can provide copies of most of the references I have ever used. HTH Stuffed Cat (talk) 21:00, 5 August 2016 (UTC)

@Stuffed cat: Hello. Point 1 - The citation was coming up in error on the Wikiproject Yorkshire page. Point 2 - There are two other citations that cover it. Point 3 - if you have said document, I hope you have changed the section back and amended the ref to stat that it is not online anymore. Point 4 - why did you not do this in the first place? Point 5 - please do not leave messages for me if you cannot be civil in the first instance and reply to me when I leave you messages on your talk page. You have not stated anything towards politeness and civility which is a core tenet of being on Wikipedia. Kind regards. 21:44, 5 August 2016 (UTC)

Gilling and Pickering Line

Hi, minor problem with ref 27 in Gilling and Pickering Line as appears to be no target for link. I suspect it should be Howart 1988. By the way have you thought of a Did you know entry for the article? Keith D (talk) 16:42, 20 August 2016 (UTC)

@Keith D: Thanks for picking up the errant ref, I have corrected it; you must be a ninja! As regards DYK; yes - I was thinking about that too. I assume you mean the bit about the tanks being loaded by fag light? As ever, thanks Keith. The joy of all things (talk) 18:19, 20 August 2016 (UTC)

DYK for Gilling and Pickering Line

On 10 September 2016, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Gilling and Pickering Line, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that whilst loading tanks at night on the Gilling and Pickering Line during World War II, soldiers would stand on either side of the wagons smoking cigarettes to guide the tank drivers? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Gilling and Pickering Line. You are welcome to check how many page hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, Gilling and Pickering Line), and it may be added to the statistics page if the total is over 5,000. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.

Europe 10,000 Challenge invite

Hi. The Wikipedia:WikiProject Europe/The 10,000 Challenge has recently started, based on the UK/Ireland Wikipedia:The 10,000 Challenge. The idea is not to record every minor edit, but to create a momentum to motivate editors to produce good content improvements and creations and inspire people to work on more countries than they might otherwise work on. There's also the possibility of establishing smaller country or regional challenges for places like Germany, Italy, the Benelux countries, Iberian Peninsula, Romania, Slovenia etc, much like Wikipedia:The 1000 Challenge (Nordic). For this to really work we need diversity and exciting content and editors from a broad range of countries regularly contributing. If you would like to see masses of articles being improved for Europe and your specialist country like Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The Africa Destubathon, sign up today and once the challenge starts a contest can be organized. This is a way we can target every country of Europe, and steadily vastly improve the encyclopedia. We need numbers to make this work so consider signing up as a participant and also sign under any country sub challenge on the page that you might contribute to! Thank you. --MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 21:09, 7 November 2016 (UTC)

Help on Disappearance of Corrie McKeague?

Corrie McKeague's mother (or say such) is editing the page. I'm not sure how to discuss this. Would you be up for it? She left a message on my talk page: User talk:Jim1138#Disappearance of Corrie McKeague and I left a number of messages on her page. I think she's confused. Please wp:ping on replies? Thanks Jim1138 (talk) 09:35, 7 November 2016 (UTC)

Thanks for taking this on. I feel rather socially inept to deal with this sort of thing. If you want to notify someone, but don't want to make it so obvious, you can hide with a wp:pipe do a tiny character such as a period "." Such as Let's discuss this[[user:Jim1138|.]] which becomes Let's discuss this. It's hard to see, but you can notice the link if you roll over the period. It might help avoid confusion, though it might bring charges of wp:canvassing! Thanks again! Jim1138 (talk) 05:04, 8 November 2016 (UTC)

@Jim1138:No problem. I created the page after all. Trying to get her to understand our rules isn't easy, though! Regards. The joy of all things (talk) 06:08, 8 November 2016 (UTC)
