LSU Stuff edit

Hey there! Great job on the 2007 LSU Tigers football team article. I appreciate all the help. I think it looks fine. The game notes section with the score boxes and stat boxes will grow to look a lot nicer once the season gets underway and we have information to add there. We just need to add the rest of the score boxes. I'll help with that if I get a chance tonight. Good work on adding the recruits as well. I had actually considered doing that but it was looking like a lot of work.

I maintain most LSU athletics related articles on here (obviously not officially, but I put a lot of effort into them) and I could use all the help I could get. I noticed you added the first round draft picks to the LSU Tigers football page. Thanks for that too! If you have any ideas then I'd love to hear them! Thanks again! In regards to the prominent players list- Yes, I admit its getting a bit long but limiting it to All-Americans would really truly leave some great players off the list. For example, JaMarcus Russell was never an All-American but no one will argue that we wasn't a prominent player. As for a solution, well, its actually something I've been planning for a while. I think the whole LSU Tigers football page is getting way too long. The accepted Wikipedia solution is to break the main article up into smaller articles. So for the Prominent Players list, I propose we break that off into a separate article, something like, List of current and former LSU football players. Then the list can name as many players as we want it to. I personally like have links to a bunch of LSU players, prominent or not. I like learning all about the players that played before I was born and stuff, even if they weren't real true world-class football players. So having a list like that, linked to from the main LSU Tigers football page would solve the issue without unjustly leaving names off the list that should be on it. Let me know what you think on that one. I also have been planning on breaking off other sections into another page, something like LSU Tigers football facts and figures (not dead-set on that name - if you have something better then let me know). I actually posted this to the WikiProject on college football but never got any good suggestions...here's what I posted: Please take a look at the LSU Tigers football page and look at the sections titled "Rankings" & "Results vs. AP Top 10 Opponents". I think that information is great information but I don't think it belongs in the LSU Tigers football article. I don't want to get rid of it, though, so I'm thinking of creating a new article and I need help naming it. The best I could come up with was LSU Tigers football statistics but that's not really accurate because this info isn't statistics. What would be a good article title for information of this variety? I don't think it should be too narrow, like LSU Tigers football rankings or LSU Tigers football results versus AP top 10 opponents because that limits it too much. I'd like a title that is welcoming of the typical information you'd find in the school's football media guide. You know....all those tidbits of information that are great but really don't fit into specific category. So, anyone have any suggestions? Thanks for your help! Seancp 21:19, 13 March 2007 (UTC) Anyway, in addition to the two sections listed above, I also think the section on 1st Round Draft Picks should be in the sub-article. What do you think? Thanks. Dennis Shaver edit

Well, I checked the official LSU bio on the LSUSports.net website, the Track & Field media guide, and I did a Google search and came up with nothing. Sorry. But I think an article on him is a great idea, especially since the women are favored to win the outdoor national title in a few weeks. Seancp 21:19, 30 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

LSU Baseball Aricle edit

Your work on the LSU Tigers baseball article looks great!! It is a much needed improvement over what was there.

As far as prominent players....well, instead of just limiting it to All-Americans, maybe we should also include players who are award winners or have earned other honors, like SEC All-Tournament Team honors, or are first round draft picks. Often times an All-Tournament team member will also be an All-American but not all the time. Including All-Tournament players will include guys like Mike Papajohn whose notoriety now is due to his film-acting career, which I find interesting and think many others would as well. When it comes to this kind of stuff, my general belief (although this may not be how most of the wikipedia community feels) is that the more information, the better. I want to go to the Miami Hurricanes baseball article and be able to click a link to every Miami baseball player that has an article on Wikipedia. That's just my personal way I like to surf wikipedia.

I'll try to write a section in the history party. I think I might research the Harry Rabenhorst years a bit a do a little write up on them.

Anyways, feel free to make your version "live." Thanks for your help! Seancp (talk) 16:31, 7 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

WOW! The LSU Tigers baseball article looks amazing! I think it has potential to be a featured article one day! You have done an amazing job with it. I will help out with the 'Harry Rabenhorst Era' tomorrow if I don't get too busy at work. I will also try to fill in some of the other empty sections. To be a featured article we will need some more pictures. I plan to get some more of them as soon as I can make it up to a game. The article will also need more references. I'll try to remedy that as well. Seancp (talk) 21:18, 12 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

2009 LSU baseball page edit

I saw the page you made for the 2009 LSU baseball team. I liked it so I copied/pasted a lot of what you did, and created the 2009 Kansas State Wildcats baseball team page. I'm hoping you can help me with the coloring. I want to make the text boxes purple with white writing, instead of the yellow that is currently there. Can you give me a hand? Thanks Topgun530 (talk) 23:49, 5 January 2009 (UTC)Reply
