Archiving edit

As I am going to be on a short Wikibreak, I am archiving my talkpage. TheChief (PowWow) 19:16, 7 November 2005 (UTC)Reply

Your signature is broken - actually many are right now due to changes in the software. Please see Wikipedia:How to fix your signature for how to sort it. --Doc ask? 20:51, 15 November 2005 (UTC)Reply

Hostile edit

I'm sorry you found me to be hostile to you as that was not my intention. I did not see all the evidence, but I thought you were doing what I refer to as "coalition building". I did not know at the time you needed the information from other users for a productive purpose. I made the comment that you were more disruptive than Agriculture and was wrong. However, I also informed [David Gerard] that you and Agriculture were probably not the same person and he subsequently retracted his sockpuppet allegation. I recognize that you are a newer editor and I was wrong to throw accusations around and I apologize. Let me know if I can be of any help.--MONGO 10:38, 16 November 2005 (UTC)Reply

I have had a tendency to be protective of Agriculture so that may explain, but certainly not justify, my tossed out comment that I thought you were more disruptive. I would have tried to iron this issue out with you a week ago, but was first on vacation and then had to send my computer back to HP for a new processor, so I was limited to what time I could spare at work for editing. I appreciate you bringing the matter to my attention again as it needed to be addressed. Happy editing!--MONGO 19:16, 16 November 2005 (UTC)Reply

I appreciate your reconsideration and will do my best to never betray the new found trust you have for my abilities and my commitment. Thanks again!--MONGO 00:38, 18 November 2005 (UTC)Reply

Re: Short Comment edit

While I under stand your frustration here[1], and let me mention I too would be frustrated, perhaps you shouldn't let your frustration get the better of you. Doubtless the users involved were trying to be destructive or vandalize but does that really excuse an administrator from WP:CIV? Many users look to administrators for a model of accepted behavior, which is why it is important to follow WP:CIV at all times. Just my thoughts. TheChief (PowWow) 22:16, 16 November 2005 (UTC)Reply

Frustration? There was no frustration. Nor any incivility. Unless you are one of those people who gets their knickers in a knot at the very whisper of one of George Carlin's seven dirty words, that is. Kelly Martin (talk) 22:25, 16 November 2005 (UTC)Reply
With all due respect, shouting for someone to "GET THE HELL OFF THE INTERNET" is not civil by any reasonable definition. TheChief (PowWow) 22:33, 16 November 2005 (UTC)Reply
And if I had actually said that, you might have a point. Kelly Martin (talk) 22:36, 16 November 2005 (UTC)Reply
While you are of course entitled to your opinion on what is and is not civil, I would encourage you to reread your comment with the eyes of someone unfamiliar with you personally, or ask someone else to read the comment and give you their feedback. I am just suggesting reflection on your future choice of words. You can choose to consider or discard my advice as you see fit of course. TheChief (PowWow) 22:42, 16 November 2005 (UTC)Reply

News from Esperanza edit

Hello, fellow Esperanzians! This is just a friendly reminder that elections for Administrator General and two advisory council positions have just begun. Voting will last until Friday, December 30, so make sure you exercise your right to vote! Also, I'm pleased to announce the creation of the Esperanza mailing list. I urge all members to join; see Wikipedia:Esperanza/Contact for more information. All you need to do is email me and I will activate your account. This will be a great way to relax, stay in touch, and hear important announcements. Thanks! Flcelloguy (A note?)

This message was delivered to all Esperanza members by our acting messenger, Redvers. If you do not wish to receive further messages, please list yourself at WP:ESP/S. Thanks.

Another Esperanzial note... edit

Hi again Esperanzians! Well, since our last frolic in the realms of news, the Advisory Council has met twice more (see WP:ESP/ACM2 and WP:ESP/ACM3). As a result, the charter has been ammended twice (see here for details) and all of the shortcuts have been standardised (see the summary for more details). Also of note is the Valentines ball that will take place in the Esperanza IRC channel on the 14th of February (tomorrow). It will start at 6pm UTC and go on until everyone's had enough! I hope to see you all there! Also, the spamlist has been dissolved - all Esperanzians will now recieve this update "newsletter".

The other major notice I need to tell you about is the upcoming Esperanza Advisory Council Elections. These will take place from 12:00 UTC on February 20th to 11:59 UTC on February 27th. The official handing-over will take place the following day. Candidates are able to volunteer any time before the 20th, so long as they are already listed on the members list. Anyone currently listed on the memberlist can vote. In a change since last time, if you have already been a member of the leadership, you may run again. Due to the neutrality precident, I will not vote for anyone.

Yours, as ever, Esperanzially,
