Formal mediation has been requested edit

The Mediation Committee has received a request for formal mediation of the dispute relating to "Single-payer health care". As an editor concerned in this dispute, you are invited to participate in the mediation. Mediation is a voluntary process which resolves a dispute over article content by facilitation, consensus-building, and compromise among the involved editors. After reviewing the request page, the formal mediation policy, and the guide to formal mediation, please indicate in the "party agreement" section whether you agree to participate. Because requests must be responded to by the Mediation Committee within seven days, please respond to the request by 8 January 2014.

Discussion relating to the mediation request is welcome at the case talk page. Thank you.

Common Core assessment edit

I was surprised to see the information was simply deleted. I didn't mean to suggest that, and have now made an alternate suggestion in the thread. I thought the info was good, but it was just a matter of where it should go. TimidGuy (talk) 18:08, 2 January 2014 (UTC)Reply

Thanks! I'm keeping up at talk, regardless, thanks for taking a second look, though. Thargor Orlando (talk) 18:11, 2 January 2014 (UTC)Reply

Rasmussen Reports edit

I am trying to change the introductory sentence to Rasmussen Reports. Reason being, the description that is currently there does NOT properly reflect what our company does and focuses more on the founder Scott Rasmussen who has not been with the company since the summer. We are not asking to remove reference to his name... but asking to change it to read: Rasmussen Reports is an electronic media company specializing in the collection, publication and distribution of public opinion polling information.

This wording is NOT undiplomatic and is the proper description for our company -- it is the wording used on our Web site at RasmussenReports.com. Thank you!

I understand. The best thing for you to do is to go to the talk page of the article. As an encyclopedia project, it's about a well-rounded look at Rasmussen, not just the current, so it's something that would need to be discussed. Make sure you sign your entries there with ~~~~ for easy attribution. Thanks and good luck! Thargor Orlando (talk) 17:06, 6 January 2014 (UTC)Reply

Request for mediation rejected edit

The request for formal mediation concerning Single-payer health care, to which you were listed as a party, has been declined. To read an explanation by the Mediation Committee for the rejection of this request, see the mediation request page, which will be deleted by an administrator after a reasonable time. Please direct questions relating to this request to the Chairman of the Committee, or to the mailing list. For more information on forms of dispute resolution, other than formal mediation, that are available, see Wikipedia:Dispute resolution.

Shadowboxers edit

Hi Thargor, I noticed you deleted a section on The Shadowboxers page. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Shadowboxers It was about YouTube so I went onto the Live Chat Help page to find out how I could improve it. I found out that PolicyMic was a bit too "reader-driven" so I found another source: Daily Beat. I was told "given that you've already got notability from other sources, I'd say go ahead and use DailyBeat and PolicyMic as sources." I have re-added them and am hoping you are ok to keep that paragraph now. If not, please let me know what I can do to fix it! Thank you kindly, Snellycat Snellycat (talk) 18:44, 21 January 2014 (UTC)Reply

Snelly, the need is for reliable sources. You should look at that policy and work from there. Policymic nor Daily Beat meet that standard. Thargor Orlando (talk) 21:07, 21 January 2014 (UTC)Reply

James T. Walsh edit

Regarding this article, the external links provided in said section adhere to Wiki guidelines because they provide additional information about the subject. Most of these links have been attached to the article for more than 7 years. I am wondering why you are choosing to remove them now? If you look at other politicians' articles, such as Joe Biden, Barack Obama, and George W. Bush, for examples, all of these types of external links are included and maintained in the article. Therefore, the same should be done for this article regarding James T. Walsh. Adding a tag about excessive external links that may not conform to Wiki guidelines is inappropriate, incorrect, and misleading because this, in fact, is not the case. Should you insist upon including such a tag, then you should also do so for every politician's article.

Also, I have noticed your repeated removal of references regarding information and quotes provided about Rudy Giuliani and the subject. All references included regarding this topic are genuine and relevant to the topic and subjects. The references are from reputable and recognized organizations, and also conform to Wiki guidelines.

Please add to and build up the article rather than unnecessarily removing information from it that will help readers better understand and be knowledgeable about the subject. Daniellagreen (talk) 17:13, 22 January 2014 (UTC)Reply

Let's discuss this over at the talk page. Thargor Orlando (talk) 17:13, 22 January 2014 (UTC)Reply

George Holt Henshaw‎ edit

Hi, could you give me a specific reason for removing the external link, here. You refer to WP:EL, which starts with Wikipedia articles may include links to web pages outside Wikipedia (external links), but they should not normally be used in the body of an article.... This is the case: The link contains valuable information, unfortunately with a lot of commercials. I would like it restored, but maybe I am missing something? -- Mdd (talk) 20:13, 30 January 2014 (UTC)Reply

I keep track of all the talk pages, so it's best to raise those issues there. In regards to the link in the external links area, see links to be avoided. Furthermore, we don't use that site here at Wikipedia as it's not a reliable source, so it's unlikely to be restored anyway. Further issues should be discussed at the talk page to centralize discussion. Thanks! Thargor Orlando (talk) 20:17, 30 January 2014 (UTC)Reply
