Notice of Dispute resolution discussion edit

Hello. This message is being sent to inform you that there is currently a discussion at Wikipedia:Dispute resolution noticeboard regarding a content dispute in which you may have been involved. Content disputes can hold up article development, therefore we are requesting your participation to help find a resolution. The thread is "Single-payer health care, United States National Health Care Act".

Guide for participants

If you wish to open a DR/N filing, click the "Request dispute resolution" button below this guide or go to Wikipedia:Dispute resolution noticeboard/request for an easy to follow, step by step request form.

What this noticeboard is:
  • It is an early step to resolve content disputes after talk page discussions have stalled. If it's something we can't help you with, or is too complex to resolve here, our volunteers will point you in the right direction.
What this noticeboard is not:
  • It is not a place to deal with the behavior of other editors. We deal with disputes about article content, not disputes about user conduct.
  • It is not a place to discuss disputes that are already under discussion at other dispute resolution forums.
  • It is not a substitute for the talk pages: the dispute must have been discussed extensively on a talk page (not just through edit summaries) before resorting to DRN.
  • It is not a court with judges or arbitrators that issue binding decisions: we focus on resolving disputes through consensus, compromise, and explanation of policy.
Things to remember:
  • Discussions should be civil, calm, concise, neutral, and objective. Comment only about the article's content, not the other editors. Participants who go off-topic or become uncivil may be asked to leave the discussion.
  • Let the other editors know about the discussion by posting {{subst:drn-notice}} on their user talk page.
  • Sign and date your posts with four tildes "~~~~".
  • If you ever need any help, ask one of our volunteers, who will help you as best as they can. You may also wish to read through the FAQ page located here and on the DR/N talkpage.

Please take a moment to review the simple guide and join the discussion. Thank you! EarwigBot operator / talk 19:26, 3 January 2013 (UTC)Reply

Still want to expand "The Matrix" article? edit

I've been waiting for editors to show up, but right now I don't see any. I've only noticed your comment on the talk page just now. Do you still want to work on expanding any section, because after I reformat the references, I'm moving on to having the article's English reviewed, and then push it to GA nomination. If you want to expand anything, perhaps you can put the outline of everything you have in mind on to-do list? Just please do it soon. I'm practically doing it alone, and I'm moving on now. I didn't think you were up to that point yet! Anyway, I'll take a quick look when I have a shot, and in this case, I may assist more heavily at the GA stage if you think it's ready. Thargor Orlando (talk) 13:11, 4 January 2013 (UTC)Reply
Well, I've been doing over 300 edits on it the past year, over 2/3 of that since this November. Most of the references you see in the articles now were added by me. That said, when you said "I didn't think you were up to that point yet!", did you mean it as its progress was unexpected, or you mean as I should think it's ready? Anthonydraco (talk) 19:26, 4 January 2013 (UTC)Reply
The former! Taking your plea for help, I thought you were a little lost on where to go, not that you were looking for a copyedit/extras. With that in mind, I'll assist whereever necessary. Thargor Orlando (talk) 19:27, 4 January 2013 (UTC)Reply
My bad. I meant "did you mean it as its progress was unexpected, or you mean as I SHOULDN'T think it's ready?" After I wrote the question properly, do you still think it's the former? LOL.
Anyway, I really was at loss when I asked more editors to join, but since none really participate since then, I've gone ahead and done most of the work. With the new sources provided by a fellow editor here, it's been substantially expanded, and the unsourced parts covered. Parts that I can't find sources for are now hidden, but even without them, none of the sections look too short. The article still lack physical offline sources, though. It could definitely use some, but this flaw is no longer fatal. Anthonydraco (talk) 19:36, 4 January 2013 (UTC)Reply
I think that the progress was unexpected and it might not be ready. A good comparison, I think, might be V for Vendetta (film), also directed by the same guys. The film article has entire sections on themes, on ideas, etc, and it's a much more superficial movie than The Matrix is. If you bring it to good article review, it'll probably pass. If you want to get it to featured, it's got a long ways to go - V for Vendetta was a featured article and was demoted some time back, and is still much meatier than The Matrix is. This isn't to discourage you - in a way, the hardest parts are already done. It's just figuring out the most important themes, finding sources (which is super easy), and expanding it out a bit. Formal mediation has been requested edit

The Mediation Committee has received a request for formal mediation of the dispute relating to "Single-Payer healthcare". As an editor concerned in this dispute, you are invited to participate in the mediation. Mediation is a voluntary process which resolves a dispute over article content by facilitation, consensus-building, and compromise among the involved editors. After reviewing the request page, the formal mediation policy, and the guide to formal mediation, please indicate in the "party agreement" section whether you agree to participate. Because requests must be responded to by the Mediation Committee within seven days, please respond to the request by 2 February 2013.

Discussion relating to the mediation request is welcome at the case talk page. Thank you.
