August 2018 edit

Hi, thanks for your edits. However, I have noticed that you removed redirect tags from the article Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine. Please remember that you should not be doing this without discussing it first with an administrator. Thanks, Knightrises10 (talk) 20:22, 20 August 2018 (UTC)Reply

  Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, articles should not be moved, as you did to Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine, without good reason. They need to have a name that is both accurate and intuitive. Wikipedia has some guidelines in place to help with this. Generally, a page should only be moved to a new title if the current name doesn't follow these guidelines. Also, if a page move is being discussed, consensus needs to be reached before anybody moves the page. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. Managing a conflict of interest edit

  Hello, Tempest2552. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about in the page Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a COI may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:

  • avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, company, organization or competitors;
  • propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (see the {{request edit}} template);
  • disclose your COI when discussing affected articles (see WP:DISCLOSE);
  • avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see WP:SPAM);
  • do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.

In addition, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation (see WP:PAID).

Also please note that editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Your interest in promoting the Cleveland Clinic is obvious, as you have edited nothing else. Compare this post. Please disclose your connection, and, as Jytdog says, disclose whether you have also edited the article under other usernames or IPs. Bishonen | talk 07:13, 21 August 2018 (UTC)Reply

I do not have any conflict of interest (financial or otherwise), but I do have knowledge about CCLCM as someone within the medical community.
I also do not believe my contributions are welcome based on the hostile and accusatory responses I have received for resurrecting and contributing to this page. Furthermore, I strongly suspect Jytdog has a negative conflict of interest with regard to Cleveland Clinic; I hope he has been subject to the same level of scrutiny as I have been. Tempest2552 (talk) 14:13, 21 August 2018 (UTC)Reply
I have no connection to the Cleveland Clinic. I work broadly on advocacy, conflict of interest, and paid editing issues across WP as well as on health and medicine; pages related to Cleveland Clinic fall directly into their intersection. The history of abuse of WP for promotion by people associated with the clinic is clear, along with disdain for the mission of Wikipedia and its policies and guidelines and the avoidance of disclosure when directly asked.
No one asked you to determine if you have a COI or not. The question is about connections. Please disclose any connection you have with Cleveland Clinic. Jytdog (talk) 14:38, 21 August 2018 (UTC)Reply
As I have said, I have no connection other than knowledge about the program because I work in the medical community. I apologize if this is not the answer you were hoping for, but it's the truth. Despite this, I am willing to avoid making substantial content contributions to the CCLCM page without consensus on the Talk page to discredit any concern about impropriety.
Your characterization of individuals associated with the Clinic demonstrates an obvious negative bias despite your purported lack of connection to the Clinic (which I believe). This is supported by your clear history of aggressive edit warring on all Cleveland Clinic pages, even with respect to the most basic, uncontroversial information. Given this, you should also demonstrate editorial integrity by refraining from making substantial contributions or trying to unilaterally delete a legitimate article. It seems after your speedy deletion request was rightly dismissed, you are continuing to doggedly pursue this mission of removing as much relevant information about the Cleveland Clinic regardless of its content. This is an action I will strongly oppose publicly. However, if you are willing to compromise and support this page's continued existence, I am more than willing to also compromise to discuss in detail what type of content should be presented and how it should be framed. I only ask you to please take a step back and consider your own actions. Tempest2552 (talk) 14:50, 21 August 2018 (UTC)Reply
Your response is not credible - see WP:SPA and WP:APPARENTCOI. What is likely to happen here is that you will continue to abuse your editing privileges in ways that are promotional and the community will indefinitely block you for violating WP:PROMO. That is the path you are on. Your characterization of what I am doing is both incorrect and tendentious; assuming you are new to Wikipedia you do not understand what the policies and guidelines call for so have no valid basis on which to make a judgement. Jytdog (talk) 14:58, 21 August 2018 (UTC)Reply
I am sorry you feel that way. If you do not wish believe any narrative about my connection/COI status that does not conform to your pre-conceived belief, then we have nothing to gain in discussing this matter further. I can just as easily say your response is not credible and your characterization of what I am doing is incorrect and tendencious. Until you have actual evidence to support this, please do not waste my time with inflammatory and baseless accusations. Tempest2552 (talk) 15:02, 21 August 2018 (UTC)Reply
It is not a matter of "feeling", it is the product of experience dealing with many, many people who come here and behave exactly as you are behaving. The only evidence I have is what you have done in WP; that is all that is necessary. Your showing up precisely when you did, and doing exactly what you have been doing, speaks volumes. Jytdog (talk) 15:09, 21 August 2018 (UTC)Reply
I truly don't think we have much to gain by continuing our discussion on my Talk Page. It is clear you will not believe anything I say regardless of the evidence (or conspicuous lack thereof). Nothing in my contribution history shows advertising or promotional material. I suspect you either disagree with that or believe that is not necessary evidence to reach whatever conclusions you have. It would be better for both of our mental health to continue to this discussion publicly and on the deletion request and Talk pages. Tempest2552 (talk) 15:17, 21 August 2018 (UTC)Reply

Warning edit

In this comment you attacked me and mischaracterized my contributions to Wikipedia.

My contribution history shows a clear pattern of removing promotion dumped into WP by people abusing their editing privileges and trying to teach conflicted editors who disclose in good faith how to work here, along with building very solid content about health, medicine, and other topics. If you continue to mischaracterize what I do, I will seek an interaction ban; stop doing that. You can amend the comment I linked to with redaction -- see WP:REDACT. Jytdog (talk) 15:07, 21 August 2018 (UTC)Reply

You have baselessly attacked my credibility and accused me of lying when responding to a direct question of yours--and you are accusing me of attacking and mischaracterizing YOU? I do hope the irony is not lost on you. If you do not feel we have anything to gain by interacting with each other further, then by all means you are free to discontinue interacting with me on my Talk Page, and I will not reach out to you in return. However, I will continue to defend myself publicly in regards to the topic of deleting the CCLCM page. Respect goes both ways. Tempest2552 (talk) 15:11, 21 August 2018 (UTC)Reply
You will do as you will. Jytdog (talk) 15:37, 21 August 2018 (UTC)Reply

Blocked edit

It's obviously reasonable to suspect, or indeed assume, that somebody whose only activity on Wikipedia has been to promote Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine has a bias in favour of the institution, and most likely a connection with them which would make your lack of disclosure fall foul of of our policies Wikipedia:Conflict of interest and Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure. By contrast, your own repeated attacks on Jytdog as having a mysterious "negative bias" against the institution are absurd, especially if you have, as you say, checked out the width of his contributions. I note also that you have ignored my further query, "Please... disclose whether you have also edited the article under other usernames or IPs". I have blocked you indefinitely as an undisclosed paid editor, on the principle that while we will assume good faith as far as possible, AGF is not a suicide pact. If you think there are good reasons why you should be unblocked, you may appeal this block by adding below this notice the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}, but you should read the guide to appealing blocks first.
