Roger, I see that you are truly dedicated to making Wikipedia great. I appreciate that.

AND, you deleted my contribution as SPAM / Blatant Advertising without any seeming discussion or consensus. I respectfully request that you consider what I have to say.

This is upsetting to me because I was careful to write from a NPOV. It does not read like an advertisment and has hard data and information.

As it says in the spam page you were kind enough to reference, "Before nominating an article for speedy deletion, consider whether an article could be improved or reduced to a stub; speedy deletion is for cases where an article does not contain useful content." and "Where reasonable doubt exists, discussion using another method under deletion policy is recommended."

My article on SmartPower energy drink contains nothing but useful content that describes the brand. It covers the information typically covered in articles on specific brands of energy drinks (SEE Monster Rockstar Red Bull, including the manufacturer, market, category, ingredients, claims, and symbology of the logo, without influence of bias or an evaluation of the product.

More from the spam page: "When an article on an otherwise encyclopedic topic has the tone of an advertisement, the article can often be salvaged by rewriting it in a neutral point of view." and "Users nominating a page for speedy deletion should specify which criteria the page meets;"

I would like to learn what about my entries had "the tone of an advertisement" or was not written from a NPOV and therefore deserved to be speedy deleted without discussion. The topics in question are legitimate and the information I provided was detailed and informative.

I am happy to re-write or edit these articles so that they better represent a NPOV, and request that we open a talk page about it to gain consensus on whether or not it is worthy of inclusion in

I include the article below for purposes of discussion. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Teloscientist (talkcontribs)

  • I did not delete your article, I only tagged it {{db-spam}}. Betacommand actually deleted it. So already we have a consensus of two people! For further opinions, raise the matter at deletion review. -- RHaworth 12:04, 6 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

SmartPower Energy Drink is a 16oz (473ml) energy drink created by Mark Michael Lewis and manufactured by Smart Energy Enterprises of Benicia, California. It is available in the San Francisco Bay Area and throughout the USA through online outlets.

SmartPower energy drink falls under the category of a smart energy drink, a hybrid combining qualities from energy drinks and smart drinks. SmartPower advertises that its formula contains ingredients that alter brain neurochemistry, enhancing the positive and pleasurable effects of the caffeine in the drink, while virtually eliminating its negative side-effects. These ingredients include L-Theanine, DL-Phenylalanine, N-Acetyl-L-Tyrosine, and Theobromine, each of which play a part in the synthesis or modulation of the major neurotransmitters affected by caffeine, including Serotonin, and the catecholamines Dopamine, Epinephrine, and nor-Epinephrine.

The logo for SmartPower energy drink is a variation of the caduceus, a symbol often used to indicate the medical field. It consists of a staff with wings and a flame at the top, with a snake wrapped around the staff in the shape of the letter “S.” Smart Energy Enterprises, the manufacturer of the drink, used the symbol as reference to the medical principle of counter-acting the side-effects of one medication by prescribing additional medication.
