Re. Naming conflicts

Hello Tbo and thank you for contacting me. This particular article is a tough case for narrowing search results. Anyway, when it comes to WP:COMMONNAME, Wikipedia users are themselves a good way to determine what the common name is (because each one will state which name they recognize as more common). That's why it's too soon to start a new move proposal. Only when "The O2" starts to be widely used, will Wikipedians concede it's the most common name. Give it some time, that would be my advice. How dare you block me and revert my edits

You very rudely reverted my edits to abi branning (which were perfectly valid, factual and true) and then that clown freak had the audacity to block me and protect that page. I find this very frustrating, and would recommend you restore my edits to impriove the article.—Preceding unsigned comment added by 84.69.102.68 (talkcontribs) 23:52, 23 July 2007 (UTC)

Hi. Thanks for contacting me. I am presuming you last edited Abi Branning as ip address, 90.242.25.33. The reason why I reverted your edit is because they appear to be unsourced personal opinions and use vulgar language. Please note that repeated edits of this manner, are not consistent with the policy, WP:verifiability. I did not request any blocks on you but I am presuming the reason you were blocked is that you made similar edits to the same page using different ip addresses (see the edit history for Abi Branning). Please contact Can't sleep, clown will eat me for more information on the block.Tbo 157 09:52, 24 July 2007 (UTC)
I disagree. My edits were factually accurate. For example, 'Abi is caring' - there are numerous references which could be made to various episodes of the programme to support that statement. (you're arguing against someone with an A* in GCSE English lol). This is true for much of what I wrote. Hence my edits were facts not opinions and should be at least partially restored in order to improve the quality of that article. I admit that the statement, 'Abi is the shit', was somewhat crude, but perhaps you could have just rewritten that bit in a more subtle tone, rather than completly deleting everything I added. As far as contacting the clown goes, believe me I would if I could, to tell him what I think of him, but rather bizarly his user page is protected. Presumably this is because he pisses off so many people (he blocked like loads of my friends and protects pages at the DROP OF A HAT). I really would like to contact him so I can get the page unprotected again (since I believe the protection or semi protection of this page is complety unecessary) and would also like to justify my edits so they can be restored. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 84.65.202.208 (talkcontribs) 18:04, 24 July (UTC)
If you can give me some reliable sources, I will see what I can do. If what you wrote on Abi Branning is a widely accepted belief, I may be able to mention it as one. Unfortunately I cannot gurantee anything but I will see what I can do. If you intend to make more edits in the future, it may be a good idea to create an account which is simple to do and requires no personal details. You can register by clicking here. This way you are not identified by your IP address. IP addresses constantly change and so it is not easy to tell who made an edit. Thanks. Tbo 157 20:25, 24 July 2007 (UTC)

Your VandalProof Application

Thank you for your interest in VandalProof, Tbo 157. As you may know, VP is a very powerful program, and in fact the just released 1.3 version has even more power. Because of this we must uphold strict protocols before approving a new applicant. Regretfully, I have chosen to decline your application at this time. Please note it is nothing personal by any means, and we certainly welcome you to apply again soon. Thank again for your interest in VandalProof. 22:51, 24 July 2007 (UTC)

Abi Branning

A quote from the Eastenders website describes Abi as 'a cheerful and confident girl with a sense of mischief'. (http://www.bbc.co.uk/eastenders/characters_cast/characters/character_abi_b.shtml) I would have thought that the Eastenders website would provide a very accurate and reliable source of information on a character in that show. This quote also supports some of what I wrote (great sense of mischief, confident).

Also in the actual episodes of Eastenders (a pretty reliable source if I may say so myself) in the week 16/07-19/07 Abi went to considerable lengths to make sure that Stella was found out for her abuse to Ben. (eg: threatening to tell people what was going on if Ben wouldn't). This shows her to be kind and caring. This also shows considerable maturity when compared with the 'let's hope the problem will go away' approach of similarly aged Ben. Another example of her caring attitude was when she was determined to see Ben after the wedding to comfort him - she even offered to give Lauren all her holiday money to be allowed to do this. This also shows considerable emotional maturity, given that she is 10 years old. All of these actions support what I wrote about her being kind, caring and having considerable emotional maturity.

Her sense of humor was indicated in the episode on 19/07/07, when she gave Ben the stone of courage but then said, 'you can always throw it at Stella if it doesn't work'. LOL. Abi is also shown to be intelligent when she gives Ben her guinea pig and says it can be a 'talisman' to protect him : this is sophisticated vocabulary for a 10 year old, outlining her intelligence and confirming my point. She also 'knows a lot of stuff', according to Ben.

The fact that Abi Branning is 'cute' is a widely accepted belief can be shown if you look at the page on Lorna Fitzgerald at the internet movie database(http://www.imdb.com/name/nm1860353/). There are many posts made by people to back up what I wrote.

With all of this in mind, I feel a great deal of what I wrote about Abi Branning is fact rather than my opinion, and this is backed up by numerous primary sources(ie: quotes from episodes of Eastenders) and secondary sources (ie: BBC website, IMDM database). Therefore I'd be grateful if what I wrote could be at least partially restored. (perhaps in a separate section entitled 'personality' or whatever). —Preceding unsigned comment added by 84.64.117.183 (talkcontribs) 20:15, 25 July 2007 (UTC)

I have written briefly, what i can, about the characters personality. Some of the things you mentioned, e.g. the stone of courage, is already in the article. Regarding the fact that it is a common belief that she is cute, this is still an opinion and these kinds of opinions do not comply with Wikipedia's policy of Wikipedia:Neutral point of view and so I cannot include this in the article. If there is anything else appropriate that you want added to the article please discuss this on the article's talk page or ask a participant of Wikipedia:WikiProject EastEnders where someone may be able to help as I don't know much about the programme.Tbo 157 20:49, 25 July 2007 (UTC)

City of London School

This article looks good ... I was assessing it. But it lacks references. I see you are working on it ... do you know how to add refs? If you do then it really needs 6 or 7 to justify the B rating. Victuallers 11:53, 30 July 2007 (UTC)

Hi Victuallers. Thanks for contacting me and advising me about the article. I will find some useful sources for the article later on.Tbo 157 11:59, 30 July 2007 (UTC)
I have added some references but I have had difficulty trying to find sources for some of the materials in the article using the internet. I will try and find some sources from books. Please feel free to contact me again if there are any problems regarding the sources.Tbo 157 12:21, 30 July 2007 (UTC)
thx - at some point the article was one of the best ... it needs to return! Victuallers 12:32, 30 July 2007 (UTC)
