Notability of Three Valley Museum edit

A tag has been placed on Three Valley Museum requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article appears to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think that you can assert the notability of the subject, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. WebHamster 23:47, 13 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

Notability guidelines for organizations edit

Hello, and Welcome to Wikipedia. I see that you are having some difficulty establishing this article per Wikipedia's guidelines. Three Valley Museum would be governed by the notability guidelines on companies, which covers non-profit as well as profit-seeking ventures. The rule of thumb here is noting whether the company has received significant or widespread coverage in secondary sources that are reliable and independent of the company (excluding company PR releases and information solely available on the company website—these sources may be used for additional information after notability has been established by secondary sources). All material must be attributable.

While the article as it is fails to assert notability sufficient for an article, I am temporarily transferring the information from the article to your user page, User:Tbay01. You may develop the article further there, but before moving the article to article space, please be sure it meets guidelines. If you have questions about it, you may ask for assistance at the drawing board, the help desk or my talk page.

This transfer can only be temporary, as the information is not appropriate for long-term hosting in user space, either. If you do not often check your account, there is a chance the page will be deleted before you have an opportunity to work on it. In that case, you are welcome to start from scratch or, if you would like this information as a template, to contact me or another administrator to request the information be made available to you again. As a courtesy, many administrators will provide you assistance in this matter. We appreciate your contributions and do not wish to discourage you from creating your article within guidelines. :) Thank you. --Moonriddengirl 12:43, 5 October 2007 (UTC)Reply
