It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

Proposed deletion of Devere Rogers edit

The article Devere Rogers has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Not enough in-depth coverage about them to pass WP:GNG, and with only 1 significant role (in My Spy), doesn't pass WP:NACTOR.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. @Atlantic306: Hi, thank you for the feedback/suggestion. I have looked, but have found no reviews so far. There is a page on Rotten Tomatoes but no rating. I have added a Reception section to the article that reads "As of 9 December 2021 Rotten Tomatoes had insufficient reviews to calculate a tomatometer rating.[1]"
If this is not suitable please let me know. Tango Mike Bravo (talk) 15:14, 9 December 2021 (UTC)Reply
Hi, thanks that's fine for now but as the reviews come in the ones from reliable sources should be detailed, regards Atlantic306 (talk) 03:19, 11 December 2021 (UTC)Reply
@Atlantic306: Hi, periodically I've been updating as of when there were insufficient reviews. Recently I found the page on rotten tomatoes was missing and updated accordingly. Other editors have since deleted the whole of the text from the section but left the section heading. I am writing for your advice on whether to restore the text or delete the section entirely or something else. (I have added an archive URL to the reference in this section). Hi, it's not customary to mention that there are no reviews at Rotten Tomatoes or elsewhere but I suggest it is worthwhile to keep the blank section as it may prompt other editors to help search for reviews. If you were not aware, reviews in any language are acceptable and welcolmed, regards Atlantic306 (talk) 21:12, 2 May 2022 (UTC)Reply
@Atlantic306: Thank you. I will leave it as is. Tango Mike Bravo (talk) 08:02, 3 May 2022 (UTC)Reply

Yogananda Pittman: archive-url edit

Hello. I edited the Yogananda Pittman article to replace a dead link to an MSN.com page that had previously published an article from CBS News with a live link directly to the CBSNews.com original page of the article (that would have been a better link in the first place). You edited my ref tag to convert the link to a version at Archive.org , using an archive-url URL value instead of my CBSNews.com URL url value. Why point at Archive.org instead of to CBSNews.com ? If that were the best practice, then every link to outside Wikipedia would be archive-url at Archive.org . — Preceding unsigned comment added by DocRuby (talkcontribs) 12:32, 16 June 2022 (UTC)Reply

@DocRuby Hi, thanks for the correction to the original CBS News article. I agree it would have been better. As to the addition of the archive-url, this is common practice. There are three parameters, archive-url, archive-date and url-status associated with an archive-url. If the original link is alive then url-status=live is used, otherwise url-status=dead. In the first case the reference is linked to the original live URL, which is the case here. However if the original link dies, it is easy to change the url-status=dead and the reference is linked to the archived version. Having the archived version recorded before the link goes dead is a safeguard. Tango Mike Bravo (talk) 14:03, 16 June 2022 (UTC)Reply
Ah, I see that your edit retained my link to CBS News, but just added an archive link. Thanks for the improvement, and for pointing out your reasoning. DocRuby (talk) 16:11, 29 March 2023 (UTC)Reply
