RvB maps

I noticed your comment when you reverted that uncited change to List of maps used in Red vs. Blue, and the thought occured to me that the article needs a bit more than a rethink. I'm really not sure anymore about the encyclopedic worth of the article. I've voiced my concerns on the talk page. Could you add your thoughts?--Drat (Talk) 07:38, 18 January 2007 (UTC)

Hindsight is a beautiful thing, is it not? I'll see what else I can gather from the DVD commentary while working on the production article.--Drat (Talk) 08:19, 18 January 2007 (UTC)

Machinima collaboration

Sounds like it could possibly work, but it'll certainly take some doing. Psyklax should definitely be interested, and I'm sure the still-active members of the group that helped with getting RvB to FA should too. One thing I need to do is get on to the current owners of machinima.com, and Hugh Hancock to track down the old articles. I noted on Talk:The Seal of Nehahra that some articles on machinima.com were messed up when they did a redesign, making some info inaccessible (and the Wayback Machine can be a pain when it comes to finding stuff). I never did get around to contacting those parties, horrid procrastinator that I am.--Drat (Talk) 09:07, 18 January 2007 (UTC)

Two left

I'm finishing up my work on The Empire Strikes Back. All of the sections are done except the Releases and Reaction sections (which I'm having trouble with and if you have a suggestions for any additions, I'd appreciate them). So I was wondering if you would copyedit the article before I submit for FAC? The Filmaker 21:41, 20 January 2007 (UTC)

External links

Now of course, you remember how zealous I can be with Machinima spam. I also get highly suspicious of people adding external links to pages, and make sure to check them (unless it's blatant from the link or title that the site is not appropriate). Lately, I've encountered a user whose only edits consist of adding webcam links. It's my opinion that webcams and photo galleries don't really add any useful info, and the presence of such links encourages more linkspam to be added. But am I being too zealous in this case? The user has tried to make his case on my talk page.--Drat (Talk) 13:14, 23 January 2007 (UTC)

I want to discuss an addition to halo machinima

This is not an advertisment, nor is this a ploy to make my video popular. I just don't think the 10,000 halo geeks understood where I was going with my video.

I do want to mention that the only draw back I had from submitting this before was that there is only one episode in the series. I made it in my advanced directing class at emerson college and not even my teacher understood the concept. I have a real job now and barely have time to play halo anymore.

THE ADDITION TO WIKIPEDIA I AM REQUESTING...

"1337 LIFE" - the fisrt reality based machinima (http://www.machinima.com/films.php?id=2908)

I created this pilot episode with the intension of releasing two more episodes after. It released last summer and was featured on halo.bungie.org, halo3forum.com and machinima.com. Nonetheless, 1337 LIFE is a show where basically 4 characters are competing for an XBOX 360 and all they have to do is out last the other contestants. Each episode spans about 6 hours in real time, unfortunately only one episode was created :(

I am requesting is that it be mentioned as the first attempt at a reality machinima.

If you would like to discuss this or maybe help me create the page I would be very thankful --> [email address removed — TKD::Talk 11:35, 25 January 2007 (UTC)]

Need a little help again

Over at The Godfather article which I am planning on bringing up to FA status after I finish the Star Wars saga, I found a "References in other works" section, which is fundamentally a trivia section. I've seen it many times before in film articles and it holds no real value to the article beyond a collection of miscellaneous references that are made to the film in other media. I looked through it and found no information that I felt could be merged into other sections. So I deleted it. It's a trivia section with no notable information, so I deleted it. It was reverted and I have since been engaged in a discussion with User:Edfitz over the section, although he seems more interested in discussing my lack of Wikipedia etiquette than the contribution the section brings to the article. He claims that I am simply disregarding what many editors have been contributing to for the longest time with one "single stroke", and that some how I should have been more civil about it (when I explained myself in the edit summary when I went about deleting the section). Now he has more or less refused to discuss the section, because he "doesn't trust me" because of my lack of "humility and concern" for other editors content. I'd appreciate it if you checked it out and talked some sense into Edfitz... or me. The Filmaker 15:53, 27 January 2007 (UTC)

RvB DVD images

I've resized the Season 1/2/3 images to 500 pixels tall to better comply with fair use. Could you delete the old revisions? Or isn't this necessary?--Drat (Talk) 11:47, 28 January 2007 (UTC)

Metacritic

I've been having a discussion with Eloipfeiffer, whom I noticed had been adding many external links to Metacritic.com, a site which lists summaries of reviews from other publications, and a weighted average of the scores. It turned out that he was in fact the founder of the site. Checking his edits shows that most/all involved adding review summary links to the site, sometimes to unrelated pages; a good many being review links for a book added to the page of an author. I also checked practically all the links added (I might have missed one or two), and they don't really provide much of encyclopedic use, in my opinion. You needn't check more than four or five game/book/show/film links to get an idea of what you'll find on the 150 or so others he has linked. I have discussed the matter with him, but it seems I have discouraged him from contributing. Have I perhaps been too harsh? I know you can explain things better than I.--Drat (Talk) 04:57, 3 February 2007 (UTC)

Toomuchtrivia

I'm having trouble with Qutezuce(talk contribs), who is going around to many articles and removing {{toomuchtrivia}} tags. This user explained to me that they feel that "trivia is best represented in list form" and that "just because there is a lot a trivia, does not mean that is a problem". I heartily disagree, needless to say. Chairboy sent both of us messages to head off a messy revert war, with suggestions to talk it out. I was wondering about your thoughts on the matter, as you are so much better with words than me, as has been proven again and again; there is, of course, also your experience as an admin.--Drat (Talk) 08:17, 18 February 2007 (UTC)

No problem. I know you've been busy lately. I feel your pain on the hard drive front. The HD in my older computer went on the fritz last june. I lost a lot of irreplaceable small files, but some massive, yet easily replaceable DVD rips were untouched. Go figure.--Drat (Talk) 10:11, 20 February 2007 (UTC)

I'm pretty much done with The Empire Strikes Back, I was wondering if you'd mind copyediting before the FAC.
