Speedy deletion nomination of File:MEDEA09 ceremony KnowITAll.JPG edit

A tag has been placed on File:MEDEA09 ceremony KnowITAll.JPG requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F9 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the image appears to be a blatant copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted images or text borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, contest the deletion by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion," which appears inside of the speedy deletion ({{db-...}}) tag (if no such tag exists, the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate). Doing so will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Speedy deletion nomination of File:MEDEA09 ceremony statuette.JPG edit

A tag has been placed on File:MEDEA09 ceremony statuette.JPG requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an image licensed as "for non-commercial use only," "non-derivative use" or "used with permission," it has not been shown to comply with the limited standards for the use of non-free content. [1], and it was either uploaded on or after 2005-05-19, or is not used in any articles. If you agree with the deletion, there is no need to do anything. If, however, you believe that this image may be retained on Wikipedia under one of the permitted conditions then:

  • state clearly the source of the image. If it has been copied from elsewhere on the web you should provide links to: the image itself, the page which uses it and the page which contains the license conditions.
  • add the relevant copyright tag.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, contest the deletion by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion," which appears inside of the speedy deletion ({{db-...}}) tag (if no such tag exists, the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate). July 2011 edit

Please do not remove file deletion tags from file description pages on Wikipedia, as you did to File:MEDEA09 ceremony statuette.JPG, without resolving the problem that the template refers to, or giving a valid reason for the removal in the edit summary. Your removal of this template does not appear constructive, and has been reverted. Thank you. Dave ♠♣♥♦™№1185©♪♫® 10:05, 25 July 2011 (UTC)Reply

Sorry Dave, that was a mistake, I did not mean to remove file deletion tags, just remove the image by myself. Now I saw that this is not possible, then I will wait for you to do it. Thank you.

License tagging for File:MEDEAawards logo.png edit

Thanks for uploading File:MEDEAawards logo.png. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information.

To add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia. For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 10:17, 25 July 2011 (UTC)Reply

  • I have declined the F3 speedy nomination but re-nominated under Speedy criterion F4. You must provide sufficient licensing information that we can identify the source. Did you create the photo? If not, who did? Do you have written permission to publish, under an open license, photos of the statue? If so, you need to send this evidence to the Wikimedia Foundation via OTRS. If you don't do these things the file will be deleted. If you need help, ask! If you continue to upload images without licensing data you will be blocked.--Doug.(talk contribs) 12:41, 25 July 2011 (UTC)Reply

You have been blocked from editing for violating Wikipedia policy. If you believe this block is unjustified, you may contest this block by replying here on your talk page by adding the text {{unblock|your reason here}}. You may also email the blocking administrator or any administrator from this list instead, or mail unblock-en-l lists.wikimedia.org. Daniel Case (talk) 14:45, 25 July 2011 (UTC)Reply

Unblocked - but you must communicate! edit

I discussed your situation with the blocking admin and have unblocked you. However, you must start communicating with people. This is a collaborative project. You are starting to come close to violating our most important rule. I noticed that you are starting to fill out the data on the copyrights; however, you still don't have enough. Please tell us how you got permission to use these photos. If you took them yourself, how did you get permission to republish the statue. Unless you are the sculptor and the photographer, you must have written permission for each of these.--Doug.(talk contribs) 15:09, 25 July 2011 (UTC)Reply

Hello Doug, I am sorry I just didn't know how to reply to your messages. Thanks for unblocking. Regarding the pictures, I already asked the MEDEA Awards organization the written permissions from both the photographer (it is not me, I wrote his name in copyright data) and the sculptor, I will get them soon. Then, how can I send them to you? Thank you. --Syllily.
OK, thank you. Please read Wikipedia:Donating_copyrighted_materials - it would actually be much better if the authors of the works (both the photographer and the sculptor) send in the e-mails that are mentioned. Near the bottom of the page are specific instructions to grant permission, including e-mail addresses. If you have trouble let me know by posting on my talk page or sending me an e-mail and I will try to put you touch with someone who can help you more with this. Please do this soon. The pictures will be deleted in seven days and if you re-add them I'm sure you will be blocked again and I might not be able to convince people to unblock you. Good luck and again, let me know if you need more help.--Doug.(talk contribs) 19:48, 25 July 2011 (UTC)Reply
Hi, I think I will give up with the pictures, you can remove them. If I will go to this year Competition, I will take my own picture of the statuette and then I will upload with the right licence. Anyway, yesterday you told that I was unblocked but I am still unable to edit the MEDEA Awards article...There are a lot of warning messages but I really do not know what else I could change: they are objective data, of course they are the same on the MEDEA Awards website; I can not change the name of the Awards or the judging criteria, for example. Also, I already put all the references to the website and other web pages, there is not any word on the article without the right reference. Please help me, what could I do? Thank you. --Syllily.
I can't see any reason that you wouldn't be able to edit the page normally. I don't think I understand the problem though. Regarding the images, if you go to the event and take pictures of the statue you still need the permission from the sculptor and that needs to be transmitted to the OTRS address given on the page I linked above. --Doug.(talk contribs) 22:29, 26 July 2011 (UTC)Reply
Hi Doug, I can edit now but yesterday my IP was still blocked, I could see only "View source" instead of the "Edit" option. No problem about the permission from the sculptor, I already asked her. Anyway, even if I am able to edit, still do not understand what is wrong and what I could edit in the MEDEA Awards page: as I already wrote, I can not change that kind of information because they are official data. --Syllily.

Text Removal edit

I have removed text from the MEDEA Awards article as it appears to be copied from various MEDEA Award website pages. If you have permission to post it you will have to follow the same procedues as outlined above to prove permission. Dpmuk (talk) 05:24, 19 December 2011 (UTC)Reply
