This is an automated message from MadmanBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/North-West College, and it appears to include material copied directly from http://www.kanyetothe.com/forum/index.php?topic=48927.0.

It is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article. The article will be reviewed to determine if there are any copyright issues.

If substantial content is duplicated and it is not public domain or available under a compatible license, it will be deleted. July 2013 edit

Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. When you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion (but never when editing articles), please be sure to sign your posts. There are two ways to do this. Either:

  1. Add four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment; or
  2. With the cursor positioned at the end of your comment, click on the signature button (  or  ) located above the edit window.

This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is necessary to allow other editors to easily see who wrote what and when.

Thank you. ✉→Arctic Kangaroo←✎ 02:29, 7 July 2013 (UTC)Reply

Remember, you need to find sufficient third-party references, as it is Wikipedia policy. If you (or any one of us) cannot find a lot of these then probably the article may not be notable - see Wikipedia:Notability in general for details. college articles edit

You seem very knowledgeable about these colleges, what is your connection here? Have you attended these colleges? Are you employed by them?--RadioFan (talk) 13:02, 21 July 2013 (UTC)Reply

I have friends who have attended these colleges and graduated with successful careers, I thought it was justified to write some articles about them since I also graduated from a vocational college with a successful career. Typically a lot of these colleges get a bad rep, and not as much publicity as state or ivy-league which I find somewhat unfair. I did a lot of research because they kept getting rejected.. Still new to wikipedia :) Freelancewebs (talk) 23:05, 21 July 2013 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of Mitchell Fuerst edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. This is a notice to inform you that a tag has been placed on Mitchell Fuerst requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an article with no content whatsoever, or whose contents consist only of external links, a "See also" section, book references, category tags, template tags, interwiki links, images, a rephrasing of the title, or an attempt to contact the subject of the article. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, you can place a request here. Dolescum (talk) 03:31, 7 August 2013 (UTC)Reply

Hello, Freelancewebs, and thank you for your contributions!

I wanted to let you know it seems an article you worked on, Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/Mitchell Fuerst, is copied from another Wikipedia page, North-West College. It's fine to do this as long as you provide the following information in the edit summary:

You can do this now by editing the page, making any minor edit to the article, and adding the above information into the edit summary.

If you're still not sure how to fix the problem, please leave a message at the help desk. It's possible that I made a mistake, so feel free to remove the tag I placed on the article.

File permission problem with File:MitchellFuerstProfile.jpg edit

Thanks for uploading File:MitchellFuerstProfile.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.

If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read the Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 09:28, 26 October 2013 (UTC)Reply

North-West College shooting edit

Hi Freelancewebs -

I'm just touching base with you about the removal of sourced and apparently notable information from the North-West College article. The edit in question concerns an on-campus shooting during which an employee was killed, students were wounded and a student was reported (by a reliable source) to have driven the getaway car. I noticed your previous edit summary that mentioned public defamation, but the statements are sourced to two Los Angeles Times articles. When I perform a Google News Archive search for the college, this is the most notable event that comes up. The other hits refer to different colleges (Ireland, Idaho) or to minor events like the opening of a new academic program. Can you tell me more about the rationale for removing this information from the article? Thanks. EricEnfermero HOWDY! 12:41, 8 November 2013 (UTC)Reply

This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion".
