Spellings edit

Thank you for your edit to Controlled demolition hypothesis for the collapse of the World Trade Center. However you need to become more familiar with Wikipedia:Manual of Style (spelling) and the conventions of American vs British spelling here. This article has just been proofread for consistency into American spellings and needs to remain so, please. Don't be discouraged, there's a lot to know when editing in Wikipedia. Most is obvious, but some is arcane Fiddle Faddle 18:01, 2 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

0.999... = 1 edit

Hello. Regarding your addition to the Unsolved_problems_in_mathematics page, please see 0.999. In short, it's not an unsolved problem, just a fact that confuses a lot of people. Cheers, Doctormatt 06:56, 3 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

Fair use rationale for Image:Gycb.jpg edit

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Gycb.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use. Suggestions on how to do so can be found here.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 06:42, 5 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

Invitation to an in-person meetup in Mohua / Golden Bay edit

Golden Bay Air are holding some seats for us until 21 November

Thinking about your summer break? Think about joining other Wikipedians and Wikimedians in Golden Bay / Mohua! Details are on the meetup page. There's heaps of interesting stuff to work on e.g. the oldest extant waka or New Zealand's oldest ongoing legal case. Or you may spend your time taking photos and then upload them.

Golden Bay is hard to get to and the airline flying into Tākaka uses small planes, so we are holding some seats from and to Wellington and we are offering attendees a $200 travel subsidy to help with costs.

Be in touch with Schwede66 if this event interests you and you'd like to discuss logistics. Schwede66 09:14, 13 November 2023 (UTC)Reply
