Dear Straight Talk,

It is a good thing for you to add articles about films that don't already have articles; anything is better than nothing. However, I don't think it was a good idea to replace the perfectly adequate synopsis for Sholay with your own words. English is perhaps your second language? Your synopsis was not as good as what was there previously. I have reverted to the older version.

If you are going to write synopses, do try to keep them short and succinct. It is necessary to give only the barest outlines of the plot. We need to describe the movie so that people who are considering watching it (say on TV or on DVD) can decide if it's the sort of thing they might like -- but not so thoroughly that the movie is completely spoiled, or at such great length that readers are bored. It's very hard to do this well!

I hope I haven't hurt your feelings. There is so much work to be done on Indian film, and every editor is needed. Foreigners are just starting to explore Indian cinema, and Wikipedia can be great guide for them -- or us, since I'm a firangi myself. More exposure for India and more money for Indian industries! Have you joined the Indian Cinema Wikiproject yet? It's at WP:INCINE. We keep track of things that need to be done, or discuss problems. People are usually kind and supportive. Postcard (2013 film) moved to draftspace edit

An article you recently created, Postcard (2013 film), does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Your draft article, Draft:Postcard (2013 film) edit

Hello, Straight talk. It has been over six months since you last edited the Articles for Creation submission or Draft page you started, "Postcard".

In accordance with our policy that Wikipedia is not for the indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace, the draft has been nominated for deletion. If you plan on working on it further, or editing it to address the issues raised if it was declined, simply edit the submission and remove the {{db-afc}}, {{db-draft}}, or {{db-g13}} code.

If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you wish to retrieve it, you can request its undeletion by following the instructions at this link. An administrator will, in most cases, restore the submission so you can continue to work on it.

Thank you for your submission to Wikipedia! Snowycats (talk) 22:26, 15 October 2020 (UTC)Reply
