Welcome edit

Hello, Standell66, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions.

I notice that one of the first articles you edited appears to be dealing with a topic with which you may have a conflict of interest. In other words, you may find it difficult to write about that topic in a neutral and objective way, because you are, work for, or represent, the subject of that article. Your recent contributions may have already been reverted for this very reason.

To reduce the chances of deletion, you might like to draft your article before submission, then ask me or any other editor to proofread it. To start creating a draft article, just click your user name at the top of the screen when you are logged in, and edit that page as you would any other. If the page you created has already been deleted from Wikipedia, but you want to save the content from it to use for that draft, don't hesitate to ask anyone from this list and they will copy it to your user page.

The one firm rule we do have in connection with conflicts of interest is that accounts used by more than one person will unfortunately be blocked from editing. It is also worth noting that Wikipedia generally does not allow editors to have usernames which specifically link them to one company or corporation. If your username does have such a name, it would be advisable for you to request a change of username.

If you are stuck, and looking for help, please come to the New contributors' help page, where experienced Wikipedians can answer any queries you have! You can also just type {{helpme}} on your user page, and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions. Here are a few other good links for newcomers:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. If you have any questions, check out Wikipedia:Where to ask a question or ask me on my talk page. Again, welcome! Wwwhatsup (talk) 06:37, 14 August 2011 (UTC)Reply

Request reason:

The legal issues regarding Bellissimo and Tamblyn (The Standells) are in the final stages. Once resolved I would like to edit the page to remove the information regarding the Law SuitStandell66 (talk) 02:30, 4 August 2012 (UTC)Reply

Decline reason:

The information about the suit has been reported in reliable sources. It stays absent a discussion by editors that would establish consensus for a policy reason to the contrary. And you stay blocked. — Daniel Case (talk) 04:18, 4 August 2012 (UTC)Reply

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

The Standells edit

Standells66, You have made inaccurate changes to the Standells Wikipedia page. You have deleted much of the information about the present-day Standells. You changed past members to present members. It took a lot of time to re-write and research references. You are using the Standells name, yet you are not a member and you do not have permission to use it. All information and historical data on this page has been verified and approved by Larry Tamblyn, the founder of the Standells and who has sole ownership of the Standells service mark Reg # 3,739,319, registered with the U.S. Patent office. PLEASE DO NOT CHANGE OR RE-WRITE any of this without express permission from the Standells. If you have any questions, you may contact us at thisentertainment@yahoo.com.

Thanks, Standells — Preceding unsigned comment added by Larbabe (talkcontribs) 06:01, 31 July 2011

Despite the above, the only concern of Wikipedia is that information be supported by reliable secondary sources. The permission of the Standells is not a requirement. Please read carefully the information I have provided below and Wikipedia policies of conflict of interest. Wwwhatsup (talk) 06:44, 14 August 2011 (UTC)Reply
The article has now been protected for a week. Can I suggest that, during that time, all interested editors raise any concerns they have about the current wording here on the article talk page, so that a way forward can be agreed through consensus. Ghmyrtle (talk) 08:55, 15 August 2011 (UTC)Reply

@Standells66: Again, you have failed to raise your concerns on the article talk page, which is the proper place to discuss article content with other editors. If you persist in making changes without properly explaining them, you will be at risk of being blocked from further editing. Wikipedia operates on the basis of consensus, not on the basis of one or other editor seeking to impose their version of events. Ghmyrtle (talk) 18:53, 23 August 2011 (UTC)Reply

Please withdraw your untrue allegation that I have any connection whatsoever with any past or present member of the Standells. You should note that I have no interest at all in any legal dispute over this matter - I am here to write an encyclopaedia. Ghmyrtle (talk) 09:31, 24 August 2011 (UTC)Reply

Template:Infobox musical artist states that the infobox should contain "Current members of the group, listed in order of joining with no other notation than names." We have evidence here that the current membership of the group includes Tamblyn and Fleck, but no evidence that it includes Dodd and Valentino. If you can provide reliable evidence that they are current members of the group, that would be a different matter. If there are any legal proceedings over this, it would also be helpful if you could direct us to the sources that show that to be the case. Ghmyrtle (talk) 07:58, 2 September 2011 (UTC)Reply

Hello. This message is being sent to inform you that there is currently a discussion at Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents regarding an issue with which you may have been involved. Thank you. Ghmyrtle (talk) 10:10, 3 September 2011 (UTC)Reply

A "legal matter" or "legal dispute": where concerns over matters of law and equity are being raised, and need not be raised or encapsulated only within legal proceedings. An allegation made as to such a matter or dispute needs not be made in proceedings. A "threat" of legal action would usually come under "pending litigation" or re a "cease and desist." In contrast and in reality, Tamblyn and his wife have threatened legal action on many occasions against band members/partners and against 3rd parties (in cease and desists etc). If Wikipedia would like to see evidence of these, please contact Tamblyn or his wife (Larbabe). Indeed, these are legal matters that are being/have been addressed. At the end of the day, it is understandable that Wikipedia does not want "warring" over edits nor legal matters being disputed on their pages. However, it would seem that Wikipedia would also like to have accuracy/truthfulness on its pages. To that end, hopefully, Standell66 has been able to shed light. To the extent that your editors have speculated on the nature of what the dispute is about and apparently have drawn some conclusions (even if not all-encompassing nor entirely accurate), perhaps these too will help keep Wikipedia readers enlightened. To the extent that decisions made by Wikipedia editors as to current band membership, etc., affect certain band members, this is not in Standell66's control. Standell66 has done his best to keep things honest and prevent certain band members from being harmed and one other band member from deceiving the public and continuing to harm the other members. September 2011 edit

You have been blocked indefinitely from editing for making legal threats or taking legal action in respect of The Standells. If you would like to be unblocked, you may appeal this block by adding the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}, but you should read the guide to appealing blocks first.

You are not allowed to edit Wikipedia while the threats stand or the legal action is unresolved. Elen of the Roads (talk) 13:39, 3 September 2011 (UTC)Reply

looking at the evidence and ongoing (now deleted) attempts to involve Wikipedia in this un-settled legal dispute, the talk page editing access for this account is disabled until the case is closed and complete. Georgewilliamherbert (talk) 09:12, 7 August 2012 (UTC)Reply
