Hey Mr. Cliff! :)

edit

Sweet Cliff, I'm having one hell of a day, and I have a draft saved to mail you - I swear I'll drop by your mailbox tomorrow, and I'll start working on a new sig for you (tho I love your current one! ;) Mwah, Phaedriel

It is rather famous isn't it? ;) —  $PЯINGrαgђ  02:52, 5 May 2007 (UTC)Reply
I visited your mailbox today, sweetie. I'll tamper with your sig for a while and see what comes out in the process ;) Love, Phaedriel - 02:01, 6 May 2007 (UTC)Reply
Thank you. It's gotten to the point where I have to work on my e-mails in Microsoft Word before I send them. ;) Actually if you could just find a way to redice the code from the projected one at my sig page—which I must say it took me a lot of using "show preview" before I got it even to where it is now. ;) —  $PЯINGrαgђ  03:41, 6 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

edit

Hmmm, well, I think it's a bit unfair to have my page protected just because I can do it myself - and anyway, if the vandals are distracted there, they won't be screwing up articles, right? :) How're you? – Riana 04:08, 7 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

Hey, Spring!

Thanks for the St. Patrick's Day card! It was very lovely, and I reciprocate the greetings for you and your family! (How are the newborns? Doing well?)

I apologize that this is so sadly overdue, as I am still on a Wikibreak while my health improves. I wish you all the best! --lovelaughterlife♥talk? 23:14, 7 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

Esperanza and stress

edit

Hi Spring, at the moment I'm not very stressed by the mediation, but earlier it was stressful. It may still cause me stress, we'll see. Have you been following the mediation? I would like to think that I've been very patient in the matter. I'm disappointed that Esperanza may now be more known for this dispute than anything else. --Kyoko 13:01, 9 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

Hmm, maybe I'm more stressed by it that I thought. I should have thanked you in my prior message, so: thank you for thinking about me. How are you? --Kyoko 13:39, 9 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

The mediation seems kind of…strange I guess. But I don't think I will join it unless I absolutely need to (and right now I can't really think of any way it could turn that I would). As for how I'm doing—tired as usual, but good. I will be minimally active starting this weekend and ending the end of May or the beginning of June: my sister is getting married and I will be doing a lot of little traveling, all here in California. So I guess you could say I'll be a little busy. ;) —  $PЯINGrαgђ  16:07, 9 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

Hi, I'm glad to hear that you are doing better. Congratulations to your sister! Oh, and could you please update your User:Springeragh/Friends page? It still lists me under "Tachikoma". I'm not bold enough to do it myself. Thanks! And have fun travelling! --Kyoko 16:14, 9 May 2007 (UTC)Reply
I most certainly will. ;) Don't be afraid to fix errors, etc. on peoples' pages—well, mine at least—if you see them; it helps the project. —  $PЯINGrαgђ  18:30, 9 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

Good afternoon, Cliff, I'm doing fine, though I've been a little wikibonked lately, i.e. no inspiration or energy to write new articles. How about yourself? --Kyoko 19:48, 18 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

Busy, as I will be until the beginning of the month. :) I do somewhat miss the wiki and my friends here (especilly since before I left I did no small end of "show preview" type testing of different HTML and wiki markup in my sandbox), and all the classical music I love listening to. I'll also be writing an essay on Sir Edward Elgar, his 'cello concerto, and Jacqueline du Pré and Daniel Barenboim soon, so try and guess what tone it will be in. :) —  $PЯINGrαgђ  20:04, 18 May 2007 (UTC)Reply
I'm afraid I'm not much of an Elgar fan, but I look forward to reading the articles anyway. --Kyoko 20:20, 18 May 2007 (UTC)Reply
That's fine. If you like I could put it on my blog which speaking of, I should put on there what I said I was going to…enough forgetting :P —  $PЯINGrαgђ  20:37, 18 May 2007 (UTC)Reply
You mean that they're not for Wikipedia? --Kyoko 20:44, 18 May 2007 (UTC)Reply
Not really, because I've been asked to put my own point of view in them. I don't think that would be too well recieved here. :) —  $PЯINGrαgђ  20:46, 18 May 2007 (UTC)Reply
Ah, gotcha. If you would like, you can e-mail them to me instead. --Kyoko 23:04, 18 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

our anonymous...whatever

edit

I see in your talk page history that A.S. is still around and still...well, being himself. I am surprisingly hurt by his disparaging comments about me (to say nothing of his holier-than-thou attitude and...shall we say, unusual grasp of Hungarian history and culture) and dismayed to realize that he's probably not going anywhere and will be bothering me until I leave the project for good. Recently our colleage of the funny name, Gustav von Humpelschlumpel, re-instated the phrase "ethnic German Hungarian" in place of just "Hungarian" with the exasperated edit summary "a hungarian deleted this AGAIN." Clearly, thanks mostly to me, Hungarians are no longer to be trusted or tolerated editing the Liszt article. It's my fault, so I must now refrain from editing that article in the future. I'm just too much of a persona non grata. K. Lásztocska 19:17, 21 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

How so? You are a Hungarian and therefore almost expected to edit articles related to Hungarians (I didn't want to put too much pressure on there). Liszt was Hungarian, you can't put it any other way. His father even worked at the same court that Franz Joseph Haydn did. It is true that there are German roots in his line, but was he born in Germany? NO. Despite the fact that his birthplace is now in Austria, he was born in Hungary; that at least makes him partly Hungarian by nationality if not ethnicity. (I myself am Irish. I was, am, and will always be. Had I been born in America and not in Ireland I would consider myself Irish and American, not just American. See my point?)
What I'm trying to say is please do not under any circumstance just give up. I support you fully in this and I encourage you as much as I possibly can to go on. I'll even join in the reverts more than I have been. ;) —  $PЯINGrαgђ  07:58, 22 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

What I meant was, thanks to my childish whining and complete lack of logical thinking or professionalism in my battle with the Anonymous One, no one will take me seriously over there anymore, and will think that all my edits have some sort of hidden ultranationalist agenda. (For a while I seriously considered making a single-issue sockpuppet, but after getting accidentally embroiled in a huge scandal regarding a banned user, his sockpuppets, and impersonators of his sockpuppets, I decided against it!!) And don't you think that A.S. is still lurking out in Germany somewhere, stalking my edits, reading everything I write, just so he can continue to belittle me, talk down to me, treat me like a naughty child? (And I wish he'd stop acting like only he knows anything--I have heard nothing about this "new research" that claims FL did not consider himself Hungarian, and it's not because I'm ignorant.) If he comes back again, do you think we can get him blocked for persistent original research? K. Lásztocska 13:54, 22 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

Sadly not. I think we can't block IP addresses indefinately, and we don't have enough evidence. Just make sure you have a lot of rock-solid references whenever he next comes around. :) —  $PЯINGrαgђ  18:26, 22 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

Well, I'll do my best, but I can't help but feel like HE'S the one who should be inundating us with reams of rock-solid references, since he's the one making the lunatic-fringe claims that go against everything I and you have read. He relies on original research, leaps of faith, inferences, and seeing what he wants to see (basically everything he accuses Alan Walker of, only less well-written.) I freely admit that Walker's books are not completely free of bias, but the intelligent reader can quickly get accustomed to Walker's voice, notice the biased statements immediately and make little mental course corrections, and proceed to enjoy the rest of the fascinating, thoroughly-researched and informative books. I trust Walker at his worst more than I trust this anonymous guy. I mean, talk about biased. By now I must have posted a dozen quotes from Liszt himself that make it clear that for much of his life he was a proud Hungarian. And remember the pseudoscholar's reaction? I found the quotes in Walker's book, therefore they were worthless. For Christ's sake, they were Liszt's own words, Walker didn't fabricate the quotes. So far the only piece of what could remotely be considered hard evidence that AS has produced is that ambiguous "for much of my youth, I blithely considered myself French" quote, confusingly translated and probably taken out of context. No, I don't think I'm the one who needs to be producing the evidence in this case. K. Lásztocska 21:35, 22 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

Well just watch Talk: and Franz Liszt and their histories for a while until he sulks back into his corner for a while. ;) —  $PЯINGrαgђ  19:52, 23 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

Hello my dearagh! I haven't heard from you in a while, though I have been hovering about your talk page and listening to others chat about you ;)

I hope things are going well for you and the baby dearie is doing wonderfully. It's nice to see your spirits are up; a spring with no bounce is very depressing, but when I see my Cliff with a spring in his step it cheers me up quite a bit! It really is lovely to see you around and popping up on our friends' talk pages higgledy-piggledy; I figured that since I see you so often I really had to come and actually talk to you.

So. Here I am, with naught much to say... but I DO have a big hug and a hello and a "hope-you're-well"; and I will also say if you like or want or feel like chatting my e-mail is always around and ready to be filled!

A good question

edit

Errr... well, the first time, it was to test that templates look OK when you block someone ({{anonblock}}), then it was by mistake :) and then it was to check it blocking with a parser works {{unb}}) and then it was to test what {{usernameBlocked-vandal}} looks like, because for some reason I decided not to go to the actual template page and see. I think I was working very late/early ;) And I had to do it twice, because the first time period wasn't long enough.
