Closures edit
Hi, do you happen to have a source for this? I believe there are indeed a few (academic and relatively obscure) languages predating Scheme in supporting closures, such as POP-11, but have never found a good source to back this claim. —Ruud 12:26, 28 November 2014 (UTC)
- Some History of Functional Programming Languages mentions that PAL had first-class functions and labels, "Functions & labels had the same rights as basic data types: to be named, passed as parameters, returned as results, included as tuple elements."[1] Page 91 of the PAL manual describes the lambda expression.
